Chapter Thirteen is here!

"h.e.l.lo!" Eris waved at Gazelle when they arrived at the gate after their cla.s.ses.

“H-h.e.l.lo!” Gazelle was nervous since she doesn’t know the three people standing in front of her. Plus, Eros, the campus’ bad boy, was the one who invited her. She was afraid to reject him, fearing he would beat her. She heard many bad stories about him, that’s why she’s so nervous.

"I’m Eris." Eris held her hand towards Gazelle. “Nice to meet you Gazelle!”

“Wow, Eris? It looks like you almost share the same name with Eros…" She stammered in p.r.o.nouncing Eros’ name because she's really nervous; she doesn’t want to make anything that would displease the bad boy in front of her.

"You noticed? Isn’t it cute?"

"Tss. What’s cute about it, it’s actually irritating." Eros said.

Eris stuck her tongue out at Eros and pulled Yohanne on the arm towards Gazelle.

“Ah, Gazelle! This is Yohanne, the math genius in our cla.s.s. He wants to be your friend, then for you to be his girlfriend!"

"What? Girl-girlfriend?"

Gazelle’s eyes widened even Yohanne’s.

From the back, Eros’ right hand covered Eris’ mouth. "Ah, she meant girlfriend as in a girl friend."

Eris nodded her head, her mouth still covered. She was very excited that’s why she slipped saying that.

"Oh…" That’s what Gazelle only said and she smiled shyly at them.

"Let’s go to 7eleven." Eros uttered.

"That's right!" Eris removed the hand of Eros from her mouth. "Let's go! I’m hungry! Treat me Eros! I want burger and a slurpee!"

"Wow, you have a sponsor? Tss."

They headed directly to 7eleven and bought snacks, they sat on the side area of the store and talked.

Eris was the blabbermouth among them, she asked anything that made Eros irritated because of her blabbering.

“Gazelle, Gazelle, do you have a crush?" Eris probed. The question caught Yohanne’s attention.

"What? Crush? Umm… Yeah, I have.”

“Who?” They looked at Yohanne when he smacked the table. He immediately sat down, he slightly flushed. "I.. I mean, who is your crush?"

“Umm.”  Gazelle immediately recovered from being surprised. "I have plenty of crushes, the cute guys at campus, then my favorite actors and singers. Physical crushes only."

“Ahh…” Yohanne's breathing loosened when he heard that. It was fortunate that it was only physical crushes and nothing serious.

"How about you Yohanne, who’s your crush?" Gazelle smiled and innocently asked.

Yohanne flushed and he can’t answer.

"Me, me!" Eris raised her hand. "I know! I know!"

Eros stepped on Eris’ feet below the table and she cried out of pain.

"Ouch, why did you step on my feet Ero-Ero!"

"Ah, it was a foot? I though it was a c.o.c.kroach. And you’re not the one who is asked, don’t insert yourself."

Eris pouted. "But I want to answer."

"Tss. Come with me!" Eros stood up and grabbed Eris’ arm for her to stand.

"W-what? Why? Wait, wait, my slurpee! Hey, wait, ano ba uy." Eros pulled her out of 7eleven.

"We'll go back. We’ll be back in a while." Eros said and went out with Eris.

"Ouch, why did you suddenly dragged me?" Eris said. Eros loosened his hold on her arm when they were outside.

"Tss! Isn’t it obvious? You’re becoming irritating. You’re loud, you blabber. Did you already forget, this meet-up is for Yohanne and Gazelle? How would they get to know each other well when you keep on interrupting in their conversation. And don’t expose Yohanne like that!"

"What? Expose?"

"Yes, expose! When you readily volunteered information about Yohanne’s feelings to Gazelle!"

"Why, am I not allowed to tell her that Yohanne has a crush on her?" Eros curiously asked.

"You dimwit! Yes, you don’t need to say it readily! Gazelle would freak-out, and maybe she’ll get far away and avoid Yohanne, we’ll have a failed mission as their cupid!"

Eris smiled widely and poked Eros with her index finger. "Ayee! Ayee!"

“Oy aray, ano ba! Why are you poking me? Stop it already! Oy, ano ba!"

“Ayee! You said and admitted it! You are also their Cupid! You are already a Cupid! And it looks like you’re taking it seriously! Ayee!"

"Whatever." Eros abruptly turned his back on Eris and placed his hand behind his head, as if embarra.s.sed. "Is it bad to try helping others?"

Eris didn’t antic.i.p.ate the words coming out of Eros’ mouth, she immediately smiled. "Eros, did you know that since yesterday, there’s plenty of addition to the necklace? It’s already seventy percent!"

Eros’ eyes widened and he quickly looked back at Eris. "Seventy percent?! Seriously?"

Eris nodded. "Yep!"

"f.u.c.k, I can’t believe it!"

Eris frowned. "Minus one percent, it's because you cursed!"

“Oh, fuc—chicken! I forgot!”

“Oh well, at least your improving fast Eros! I’m so happy!”

Eros suddenly placed his arm around Eris’ shoulder, she slightly bowed her head because of his weight, she became irritated when he messed her hair.

“Eee! Eros, my hair! It’s messed up!”

"It’s still okay, whether it’s messy or tidy, you’re still ugly!" Even though Eris couldn’t see his face, she still heard a smile in his voice, making her smile.

"Come on annoying angel, let’s go home!"

"What? Go home? What about them?" she straightened herself from bowing, but Eros didn’t remove his arm around her shoulder.

“Do you really know how to be a cupid or what? We’ll leave them so that they will get to know each other well. We’ll just disturb them if we are there. Come on, let’s go home!"

“Wait, My burger and slurpee is still there!"

“You really do love food!"

“Oh, okay, let’s go.” Eris pouted.

They walked towards home, Eros arm is still around Eris.

Meanwhile, Yohanne and Gazelle was left inside 7eleven. No one was speaking; it was awkward for the two of them. They were both feeling shy towards each other. Eris was the one who mostly talked among the four of them and she’s the reason why the awkwardness was gone but since she’s not here, the atmosphere is silent.

"They are taking their time." Gazelle shyly said.

"Yes, yes they are…" Yohanne stammered.

“Do you have a problem with speaking? Because you always stammer…"

“Wh-what? N-no, u-umm I’m just nervous…"

"Ah… Me too, I’m nervous, I’m not used in going out with people I don’t know. But my nervousness lessened because I now know you somehow and you look good even Eros…" Gazelle smilingly said.

"I thought he’s a bad guy, that was the rumor but I think its all gossip. Maybe because of his appearance and the way he dresses that’s why people can say bad things about him like him beating someone but earlier, it looks the rumors are not true. He seems nice…"

"Ah, you mean Eros? The rumors are true, he’s a bad boy and he beats people. Actually, the whole cla.s.s is afraid of him even me; he does not have mercy to people he beats. It's weird, it seems like he’s changing."

"Changing?"

"Yes, before he’s not going to school but now he’s always attending. Then he became quite good in interacting. It’s quite difficult to explain but I feel that he has changed for good, since Eris appeared…"

"Appeared?"

"Eris is not going in this school. She's always with Eros."

"Oh, they are always together? They have a relationship?"

Yohanne shook his head. "I have no idea."

"Is that so… Hmmm…"

That's where their conversation stopped, it was silent again. It's awkward again.

After some minutes…

"They are taking so long…"  Gazelle was feels awkward with the silence between her and Yohanne.

"Yes it seems…"

Bzzt! Bzzt!

Yohanne felt his phone vibrating and checked it.

One Message Received.

From Eros. They exchanged numbers earlier. He can't believe that he has given his number to his troublesome cla.s.smate that he doesn't care and did not once attempted to interact with.

From: Eros Magdayo

This is Eros. We went home. You can have her all to yourself. Make a move. Don't be a coward, be a man!

He felt nervous; did Eris and Eros really leave them? He can't believe it, he was together with Gazelle, the girl he only looks from afar is now in front of him and they are talking. What should he do? He's now panicking.

Eros said for him not to be a coward but because of nervousness he’s chickening out. He doesn’t know what to do for him to be closer to Gazelle without looking like a creep, weird or whatever in front of the girl he likes.

“A-ah, G-Gazelle… They said they already left…”

“What? Who? Eros and Eris?”

“Yes…”

“Why?”

Yohanne panicked. What should he say? They left to leave them alone together? Obviously he can’t say that. He’s intelligent in Math but why is that he can’t use his brain to thibk for a simple excuse?

When facing the girl he likes, he forgot he has a brain, he only remembers to use his heart.

“Uhmm… I don’t know… They did not say anything. All they said was they already left…”

“Aww, is that it? Maybe they have something important to do.”

“Ah, yes. Maybe they do.” Yohanne scratched his head. He can’t calm himself.

“Tell me about Eros…”

“What?” He was surprised from the question.

Gazelle blushed and weakly said to Yohanne “I don’t know but at first I was afraid of him because of the rumors that he is a bad guy; but as I got to know him better a while ago, I felt that he is a good person. Then I realized as I gazed at him, he was actually so cute.”

Yohanne was unable to say anything, as though his mind is having difficulty processing what Gazelle is saying.

“Yohanne, this is only our secret.” Gazelle placed her arms on the table and came close to Yohanne’s ear and whispered.

“I think I have a crush on Eros, because he’s so cute.”

TL Ramblings:

Fun Fact: Eros is the Greek G.o.d of love while Eris is the Greek G.o.ddess of strife and discord.

I love the irony between the names and their respective personalities in the story. Hahaha!

When Eros said to Eris that they will go home, I imagined him raising his fist up in the air. I don’t know why I did, but it surely placed a smile on my face while I was translating. XD

And what is this development? Am I seeing (reading) a possible love square? Nyahahaha!
