Chapter 9.1: Shangguan Ling's Ident.i.ty
At the next day, the sun was scorching brightly in the sky, the Patriarch of the Sun Clan was hanging high up in the sky.
From far away was a carriage.
It was driven by a young man who seemed to be around twenty years old. His long hair fluttered recklessly in the wind, and under his nonchalant brows, his long and narrow eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a trace of laziness and a hint of indifference. His nose was like a floating ball of bile. He stood straight like a green mountain, thin to the point where his lips were a little thin.
“Rogue, do you even know how to drive? Why are you so slow?!”
The curtain of the carriage was opened to reveal two women sitting inside. The one on the left had an exquisite appearance and was extremely beautiful. She was dressed in a dark green and flowery top with a misty glow underlay and wore a multicolored green top. Her soft black hair had been tied into a simple bun, forming a pure and elegant scarlet gold beaded step.
Seated on the right was a woman. She had a quiet and beautiful appearance and an extraordinary temperament. Her plain clothes were snow-white, and her long, ink-colored hair naturally fell down. Her enchanting eyes were serene and indifferent.
The three of them were Tang Qing, Shangguan Ling, and Yun Mo, who had become Dao-companions because of an accident and had mysteriously formed a physical relationship with each other.
“You think I'm slow?” Tang Qing was indifferent as he lazily yawned. “Why don't you come and do it instead?”
“Scoundrel, don't think that I don't dare to hit you!”
Somehow, every time Shangguan Ling saw Tang Qing, a wave of indescribable anger would surge up from the bottom of her heart. Especially that guy's careless and lazy att.i.tude, it made Shangguan Ling extremely unhappy!
“Whatever.”
Tang Qing no longer bothered about the Yin Yang Curse in his body. Rather than saying that he was free from it, it would be more accurate to say that he had resigned himself to fate. Being able to live a carefree life of one day after another, being able to enjoy one day after another, whether it was heavenly tribulation or a curse, he no longer cared.
I have no time to play with you. You guys can do whatever you want.
“You!”
Shangguan Ling gnashed her teeth in anger, her eyes filled with the desire to eat Tang Qing's flesh and bite his bones.
“Ling'er, speak less.” Realizing that Shangguan Ling had the impulse to act, Yun Mo stopped her, a little helpless, and a little puzzled. What made her helpless was Shangguan Ling's fiery temper, and what made her suspicious was the feeling Tang Qing gave her, it was a kind of carefree, uncaring att.i.tude as if he did not care about anything in this world.
Yun Mo couldn't help but be surprised at how ordinary people could possess such temperament.
“Humph! Wait until this young lady has comprehended her heaven's destiny, then I'll see how you look! ”
Tang Qing knew that some destiny might be solved through some unique method, but he was unequivocal that the destiny that he had formed with Shangguan Ling and Yun Mo was not just some ordinary destiny. It was also related to the Curse of Yin and Yang. With this thing partic.i.p.ating, whoever dared to break it would be prepared to suffer. Previously, Tang Qing had only tried to sense the Curse of Yin and Yang, but in the end, his mind had almost been crushed into smithereens.
Suddenly, a sharp shout came from behind.
“Stop the carriage in front of us!”
A group of more than a dozen armored men with white cloaks on top of their horses galloped over, led by a man of about thirty years of age, with a sword sheath on his back. With a loud shout, the horses beneath them hissed, and with a leap, he stopped the carriage in front.
Tang Qing did not move, nor did he speak. He only swept his gaze over these people without even sparing them a glance.
“I am the Patrol Officer of the Holy Hall of Yongyang City, Zhang Tairan. I have been ordered to capture the suspect ‘Thousand Hands Demons.' All the carriages in the past must be under strict scrutiny!” The man in the lead did not even look at Tang Qing as he pulled the reins and shouted with a dark expression.
This was an era where immortals were respected, demons were emperors, and demons ran rampant. The Saints controlled and managed the rules and order of this world, and the Saints had their own Temples, Holy Divisions, and the likes. The Temples were the most common of these, and almost every city had their own Temples.
“I ask you, who are you?”
The Sacred Hall cultivators were all high and mighty, and any ordinary person would be afraid. All of them were arrogant and proud, not to mention ordinary people; even some sect cultivators would give way to them when they saw them. It was apparent that they did not place this seemingly ordinary fellow, Tang Qing, in their eyes at all.
Tang Qing still did not move, nor did he speak. After glancing at these people, he closed his eyes.
“You're courting death! When Great Master Zhang asks you a question, you dared not to answer?!” However, just as his palm was about to strike Tang Qing's head, a sharp light suddenly shot out from the car. With a bang, that Holy Hall cultivator, who didn't know what was going on, was sent flying.
“Impudent! How dare you go against my sanctuary!”
