Kylie rolled her eyes and asked him if he wasn't worried about draining his b.a.l.l.s completely. Ethan just shook his head, though, and said, "You may be right, but I can't control myself. Kylie, you're too beautiful to ignore. Furthermore, a man runs out of stamina before he runs out of s.e.m.e.n. What that means, essentially, is that if I can pop a b.o.n.e.r, then I'm good to go!
"Since I can't control myself," he concluded, "it is your duty to open yourself up to me."
Kylie giggled, and she said, "The Ethan that I know is very self-disciplined. I hope you don't think that I'm going to fall for that line!"
Ethan sighed and changed the subject: "Weren't you invited to partic.i.p.ate in Director Miller's new play? When does filming begin?"
"I don't know exactly," Kylie replied. "I'm actually going to see him today for my first audition. As of yet, I don't even have the role!"
Kylie tried to get out of bed, but she couldn't get to her feet. She had been aware of how sore her wet core was, but it hadn't fully hit her until she tried to stand. Ethan had rubbed medicine all over her pubic mound, but it had done little to soothe the pain. She tried to stand again, and she fell again. This time she would have hit the floor, but Ethan caught her. "Let me help you," he said.
"You were so noisy last night," Ethan continued. "Weren't you worried about being heard?"
"Those weren't moans of pleasure," she replied. "They were cries of agonizing pain; cries for help. Perhaps if you learned to stop when you are asked to stop, I wouldn't be in so much pain today. How am I going to meet with Miller if I can't even walk?"
Ethan gave her a hug, and he said, "Pish posh applesauce. Things will work out. They always do."
Kylie sighed and said, "We'll see. I know that I scratched you pretty well last night while I was trying to get away from you. Why don't you let me put some aloe vera cream on the scratches, so they heal quickly and don't get infected?"
Ethan laughed heartily and said, "Don't worry about me. I'll live."
Ethan got dressed and helped Kylie dress. Then he picked her up to carry her downstairs for breakfast. On their way out, though, they ran into Steven. Stephen took a single look at Kylie and moved away. Kylie was embarra.s.sed because she was an adult and, generally speaking, unless she was disabled, she shouldn't have needed this kind of a.s.sistance.
Ethan looked at Steven and said, "Dad's birthday is coming up. You'll go to a party with me."
Kylie bit her lips, and she said, "Your father doesn't like me. I'd better not go..."
Ethan frowned, but he didn't say anything. He didn't want to go.
Once they were downstairs, Ethan helped Kylie get seated in the dining room. Pupu came over with his tail wagging and his nose sniffing like a police dog. Without a doubt, he could smell Ethan's sweat and s.e.m.e.n all over her and be trying to make sense of it.
Dinah came and sat down in a seat next to Stephen. She looked at him and Kylie and asked them where they'd been all night. "At first," she said, "I thought you were in the bathroom. I thought I heard the two of you having s.e.x. In the end, though, it was just Steven watching p.o.r.n in his bedroom. I waited up for you, but you never came home – or, at least, you didn't come home until after I went to bed…"
Kylie turned around and looked at Ethan. Obviously, she didn't know what to say, so she was glad when Steven redirected the attention to himself. He said, "I had some late-night business to attend to. It was no big deal. Kylie offered to keep me company, and I accepted the offer. In the end, I was very glad to have her with me. I am not sure why you are so concerned with our comings and goings, though. What made you want to wait up for us? Do you have some business with either of us?"
Dinah's face turned red in embarra.s.sment. "It's nothing but a silly premonition," she muttered. "For some reason, when I saw that you weren't home, I had this gut feeling that something was wrong…"
"That's nonsense," Ethan scolded her. Then he turned to Steven and said, "How's your investigation going?"
Stephen put down his fork, and he said, "Stars' account was registered with a mobile phone. I traced it back to France, but it is out of service now."
"France?" Ethan queried as he ate.
"France," Steven agreed.
Ethan asked, "How about the other thing?"
Steven quickly replied, "I've told Kylie that Laurence's hair sample was not fresh enough. There was nothing that I could do with it. It would be better if we had a sample of his urine, stool, blood, or s.e.m.e.n."
Suddenly a car horn blared in the driveway, and the girls were so startled that they nearly p.i.s.sed their panties. Kylie tried to stand and, even though she was in pain, she found that she was now able. She kissed Ethan on the mouth and headed for the door with Dinah following behind her.
As soon as they were gone, Ethan threw his fork across the room and went upstairs, leaving Stephen alone in the dining room. Steven looked at Pupu and asked the dog what he thought he should do. In response, the dog barked happily, which was no help to Steven at all.
Dinah sat shotgun with a toothpick in her mouth. Lucas looked at Kylie and said, "Anna is taking Lily to the audition. Are you going? Are you ready?"
Kylie nodded, and she said, "I heard that Director Miller had invested a lot of money into this film, though. If he hires me, I hope that I don't let him down."
"That will not happen," Dinah interrupted. "You need to be more confident. I believe in you. Ethan believes in you. Even Miller believes in you – so when will you start believing in yourself?"
When Kylie saw how many people were auditioning, she felt overwhelmed. When Miller saw how nervous she was, he had one of his peons bring her a cup of coffee and a script to study while she waited for her turn to audition.
The movie centered around martial artists and had many action scenes. The role Kylie was going to play was that of a woman with dual ident.i.ties. In front of the villagers, she portrayed herself to be a helpless blind woman who was always being bullied by others. By day she made her living by making handicrafts. What n.o.body knew, though, was that she was a professional killer, a hitman for hire.
"This will be a challenge for you," the director warned her. "You will have to understand each character's motivations and do your best to immerse yourself into each character. I have faith in you, though. If you give this everything you've got, your star will rise."
"Have you seen my previous work?" Kylie wondered. "I know that you are picky about who you chose. Did you see my work in The Tea Maiden?"
Miller smiled and produced an alb.u.m from his bag. He opened it, and Kylie was shocked to see that it was a sc.r.a.pbook dedicated to her professional career. Kylie was moved by it, and her eyes filled with tears. "Where did this come from?" Kylie wondered.
"It was sent to me by one of your fans," Miller replied. "I had never heard of you but, when I saw this, I automatically knew there was something special about you."
"My fans?" Kylie wondered. "I didn't even know that I had any fans…"
Indeed, her fan base wouldn't take off in her past life for some time, so this was a confusing yet happy surprise. She held the book reverentially and asked Miller if she could keep it.
"Of course," he replied. "Consider it my gift to you."
Miller looked over the crowd gathered and asked Kylie who she thought would make a good lead. Kylie blushed as she realized that Miller was actually asking her opinion. She considered it for a moment, and then she said, "There are many good actresses out there, so it is hard to say. I suppose, though, that Sally Cooper would be my first choice.."
Miller was stunned. "How do you know Sally?" he wondered.
"I actually don't remember," Kylie lied. "When you asked the question though, her face is the one that automatically came to mind…
Miller frowned, and he said, "How can it be that you have no recollection?"
"If I was pressed to hazard a guess," Kylie replied. "I must have met her briefly at a magazine shoot. I was just starting out and she was way out of my league. I wish that we could have gotten to know her better. I have since heard that she is very kind and a wonderful person to work with."
"You have a good instinct," Miller said. "If she auditioned well, she could be exactly what we need, and if you hadn't said anything, her name wouldn't have even crossed my mind. She has the perfect girl next door look, but you can also see that she is not someone to be trifled with. Furthermore, we need someone who can act but isn't a big name like Angelina Jolie or something. Having a lesser-known actress will give the film an authentic feel."
Suddenly, Miller laughed heartily and said, "The pieces are coming together. I have a really good feeling about this production."
