The first place that they'd agree to take a look at was the Hamorna statue in the center of town. It was where the first scene would be shot, and, when they arrived, they were not surprised to see that the film crew was already set up. One thing that did surprise them, though, was the size of the crowd that had gathered to check out what was going on.
At first, Faith was worried that Kylie would be bombarded by fans, but then Kylie reminded her that she wasn't actually very famous. Stepping out of the car, they headed into the crowd, and it wasn't long before they became separated. No one was worried, though, because they'd agreed on a meeting place in advance, in case something like this occurred. They had decided to meet at a local train station.
As Kylie approached the statue, someone patted her on the shoulder and asked her if she was a famous actress, Kyle. Kylie turned her head and took a long look at the man in front of her. He was thin, young, his hair was scruffy, and his small rat eyes reminded her of a rat's eyes.
"Sorry," Kylie replied, "but you've mistaken me for someone else. My name is Kylie Finch."
"That is crazy," he replied. "You look exactly like Kyle, and your names are so alike. You must hear that all of the time!"
"You are the first," Kylie said. "I'm sorry, but I can't stay to chat. I have somewhere to be."
Kylie gasped in surprise as the stranger took her arm. He pulled her close and hissed into her ear: "You are not going to fool me. You are here to film Trailblazers. I understand your desire for anonymity, but I have something to tell you. If you hear me out, I will leave you alone." The man said quickly.
Kylie had a bad feeling about this guy. When he spoke, he smiled in a way that made her skin crawl, and when he looked her up and down, she felt like he was undressing her with his eyes. Riddled with fear, her body began to tremble. "I won't go anywhere with you," she said. "If there is something that you need to say, say it here. There isn't anyone listening!"
The man chuckled suddenly, manically as if he'd just heard a most disturbing, but hilarious, joke; a dead baby joke, perhaps. The sound of his laughter made Kylie's blood run cold. "You are so stupid," he said. "After being with so many men, one would think that you would have learned something about them by now. Your reputation isn't good at all,"
Kylie glared at him and asked him what he was talking about.
"I am talking about your relationship with Ethan," the man replied. "It should have been obvious, but I forgot what a stupid c.u.n.t you are."
"My relationships are n.o.body's business but my own," Kylie countered.
"Ethan is not as simple as he presents himself to be," the stranger replied. "If it weren't for his presence in your life, I would agree with you, and keep my nose out of your business." He sounded ridiculous while Kylie was listening to his ranting. She can't figure out what this man was up to.
"I know all about his past," Kylie scoffed. "He tells me everything, and I love him more for the simple reason that he feels safe enough around me to open his closet for me. I have seen the skeletons, and they are not as scary as he thinks. So if you come across to disturb me by telling the worst side of Ethan, save it because I will not be going to buy it,"
"I would not be surprised," she continued, "if your skeletons are much worse than his. So, please get out of my way, I have a lot of things to do," She hissed.
"I don't believe that he told you the whole story," the stranger said. "If he had, I doubt you would still be with him. All I want to do is find a quiet spot to sit, maybe over coffee, so that I can tell you the whole story. It is clear to me from your demeanor, though, that you are not prepared to listen to anything I have to say, so I will let you go. I will give you my business card, though. If you ever decide that you want to hear the truth, call me. I am more than willing to tell you the truth that Ethan hadn't revealed to you. I a.s.sume you are an intelligent woman, so don't be fooled by him or else you will regret it," His words struck Kylie immediately. Still, she didn't show any sign of evidence that made this man feel satisfied with whatever purpose he had upon approaching her.
Having said that, he let her go and disappeared into the crowd. Kylie looked at her arm where he'd been holding her. It would bruise, and badly.
"What a f.u.c.king Psycho," Kylie mumbled. She looked at the business card he'd given her and read the name out loud: "Tom Thomas."
"Why is there a human being who felt envy with others? She heaved a deep sighed before starting to walk towards the direction she wanted to go.
Without giving it a second thought, she tossed it into a nearby trash bin. She doesn't have time thinking about a stranger who bombarded her telling something against her husband. She always believes Ethan's words.
