Chapter 18 Purgatory

When humans are pushed into despair, they’ll fight back in order to survive .

The broken mouth of the gla.s.s bottle was hidden by the girl, was not aimed towards Grandma w.a.n.g nor was it aimed towards Chen Ah Si; it was in the end stabbed towards Song Ye, the benefactor that had tried to help her escape this place .

But before the broken gla.s.s bottle could reach, it was stopped midway . With a voice so cold that her emotions couldn’t be read, 

“You thought you could hurt me that way?”

Mocking could be felt from the tone of her question . That very tone had also made the girl feel as if the air of death was wrapping around her .

The girl’s body stiffened, as if she was able to feel the bullet going through her brain . Feeling her extremely tensed nerves, she suddenly swung her hand away and ran while screaming,

“It’s her! That woman had brought calamity onto this village! Don’t let her escape here alive! If she brought the village’s secret out of here with her, everyone here will be doomed!”

The village itself was the base of human trafficking and every family was involved in this business in order to have a better life . If all of this was made known to the public and the corpses that were thrown behind the mountain were found, then none of them would be able to get away unscathed .

Those that trudged around death itself can always feel the fear of death .

“That’s right, we can’t allow her…”

Someone mumbled that and stood up .

Following that, more and more people, until all the villagers , no matter if they were injured men, pregnant women, young or old, began to surround her and stared at Song Ye . Illuminated by the fire light, they looked as if they were evil spirits that had crawled out of h.e.l.l .

“We can’t let her get out of here, she will expose everything…”

“That’s right! We must kill her!…”

“Kill her! Kill her!”

More and more shouts of a similar nature could be heard, as if chanting . When humans have the need to protect their own lives, committing a crime was just one of those ways to survive .

When Song Ye looked at the disgusting faces that seem honest, her glance turned cold .

She curved her lips, a vapor could be seen when she opened her mouth,

“Ha, I had never planned to let any one of you go . ”

If all of these sc.u.ms could be forgiven, then wouldn’t the girls that were trapped in the cellar, unable to differentiate night from day, too pitiful?

“Everyone don’t be scared of her! She only has a gun and probably at most let out ten bullets! We have this many people here, we for sure can’t let her get out of here! Let’s all go at her at once!”

There’s as saying that was said that the more people there are, the work will be easier . The power when all of them united was great; but when they use this power in committing a crime, it will work out even better .

But they experimented it on the wrong person .

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The long hand made an arch in the air, almost as if she was not bothered about it at all, the trigger was pulled thrice . The three villagers that had went near Song Ye were not even able to look clearly at what she did and had collapsed onto the ground, a bullet in their forehead .

Three lives were taken with only just a swing of her arm and her actions were clean and neat . The very epitome of being a killer not even blinking an eye when taking the lives of others .

The decisiveness that she had performed had let the villagers that sunk into insanity couldn’t help but feel fear as they trudged backwards .

Song Ye held onto the gun with both of her hands, as if it was a precious toy to her . Even if this body of hers was not strong enough which caused her arm to go numb from the recoil . With her ten or more years of experience with a gun, she would still be able to hit someone even with her eyes close; not to mention when her opponents were just a bunch of villagers .

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In front of the faces that showed fear, she did not even stop and used up all ten bullets . She then quickly changed the magazine in the gun . All her weapons were actually found in the thatched houses . One full box of guns and magazines were kept in her s.p.a.ce .

The villagers were not even able to see where she took the magazines from and they didn’t even have the heart to do so as well .

From the sounds of the gunshots, countless villagers felt the fear, fearing that they would be next to have their life taken . All of them pushed around in order to escape, and in the end were shot and killed .

In the end, only the women that were young, old and pregnant were left behind .

Song Ye was not interested in dealing with them and stepped onto the pool of blood, she casually walked towards the girl .

The girl had blood all over her hands and her face was pale from fear . When she saw the black boots in front of her, she began to plead in a trembling voice,

“Please, please don’t kill me, I’m was in the wrong, I did wrong, so please…”

Towards the end of her sentence, the tears went out of control and began flowing down her face .

The girl that seem weak groveled and cried while pleading; that scene would make people felt pity towards her . But to Song Ye a cold-blooded a.s.sa.s.sin, the very first lesson that was engraved into them was to completely erase ‘sympathy’; and so, Song Ye did not show any compa.s.sion,

“It’s too late . ”

At the sound of a gunshot, the life of someone at the peak of their age went away just like that . Song Ye then lowered her gaze and did not even look at the village that was now full of corpses . This was a habit that she had, she wouldn’t look back at the b.l.o.o.d.y scene that had happened .

At that moment, a sound could be heard . At the top of the mountain some distance away, someone released a flare signal . A pale white smoke was left behind in the night sky .

Song Ye raised her head to a.n.a.lyze it and soon after, her heart sunk and she dashed towards the forest .

The village was remote and secluded, so who had released the signal flare and attracted the military to this direction?

Song Ye made a mad dash into the forest and while trying to figure it out at the same time . In the end, the reason she came up with was because of Chen Ah Si .

She was right, that was the real reason behind it . Chen Ah Si made a jailbreak and was being chased by the police into the mountains; and coincidentally, a gun fight had occurred .

What Song Ye did not know was that following her escape into the forest, Qin Zhan had entered the scene akin to purgatory . He had chased all the way to this location and it was all because of the trace that Song Ye had left behind while hacking into the official system server creating a fake ident.i.ty .

He then received a report stating that the human traffickers had a base . The number of criminals there, was a lot and they had firearms on them . To which the police had requested help from the military . But never would they have thought that they would come across such a scene .

“Major, there’s a total of 89 deaths . All of them were men with firearms and they were killed with just a shot to their head . From the looks of it, it was done by a professional . ”

After going through the scene, a soldier had came reporting to Qin Zhan . Even for a trained soldier such as himself, he also felt uncomfortable at the b.l.o.o.d.y scene in front of him .

“Mmn . ”

Qin Zhan had a military uniform on him . All the b.u.t.tons on his attire were done up, the clothes on him were the same as his face – no creases or any other emotions could be seen . He coldly stood in the middle of all the corpses, as if he was a statue in the dark night . After a while, he then walked to the side of a middle-aged woman .

“Did you see clearly how the person looked like?”

The woman was traumatized and her body kept on trembling . It almost seem as if her consciousness was not clear .

“I-I saw it . He was wearing black pants, boots, and he h-had a gun in his hand and shot everyone… Bang, bang, killing the people . Quite young, good looking . It was a k-kid . ”

Kid? Qin Zhan’s face that was like a statue before now showed an expression . His brows were creased together .

This precision and way of finishing of the people . She said that it was all done by a kid?
