'Well, it's not like it matters. The time I have left has been shortened yet again... I'll have to resort to something else other than working.'
Bin unconsciously clenched his fists so hard that his nails dug into his skin, causing blood to leak out. Literally, he had no choice but to resort to things such as stealing.
It's against his morales but he can't just let his sister starve after he'll die. The suffering she'll go through will be much worse than his if he doesn't ama.s.s enough money for her to live comfortably for a period of time, at least until she grows and learns how to take of herself.
He never doubted that life is cruel but for it to be this ridiculously unfair is what angered him. Some people enjoy food and luxuries as much as they want yet others to starve and are forced to eat from the trash in the streets to survive. Why does it have to be like this? Only one percent of the population enjoys life and the rest are supposed to die miserably?
What is the purpose of evolution and magic if not to help those in need, those suffering. They used it to make their status even more unreachable, claimed that only those with 'n.o.ble' blood can wield.
'BANG!'
Bin banged his fist on the table, causing a loud noise and startling those around him. They looked at him with surprise only to shake their head as they thought he's angry due to Jasmine. However, the truth was vastly different from their imagination, Bin couldn't care less about his 'master', what he's disgusted about is this life, this society, what it was and what it had become. How the rich are nothing but a wound festering everything.
Ignoring the gazes he was getting, Bin went to the empty veranda and looked at the starry sky while taking a deep breath of fresh air.
A beautiful and large garden laid before his eyes. He started walking until he found a bench situated between two tall and seemingly old trees. As he sat, he took a few more breaths before taking the envelope in his back pocket with a slightly shaky hand.
His hesitation was apparent but unlike earlier, he resolved himself and opened it. As many would expect, a letter was inside the envelope, it smelled of medicine, just like any hospital would and this only reminded him of Doctor Galen.
'Bin, if you're reading this then I'm already dead. I know this came as a surprise to you but such is life. This letter is not meant to explain the reason for my death but the reason for your illness.
What you're about to read is merely my speculation. First, let me be blunt and tell you, there is no cure, at least not that I'm aware of. Then let me proceed in explaining the real problem. After many consultations and observations, I noticed that although your body has Mana inside, it doesn't circulate at all.

More precisely, your body absorbs Mana but doesn't process it meaning that it lingers in your body until it disappears. This is why you feel extreme dizziness. The reason I said there is no cure is because your body unconsciously absorbs Mana that lingers in the environment, whether you like it or not. However, it can do nothing with it thus it starts ballooning until many side effects appear. This what I concluded from my studies but there are a few things that are left unexplained. The only advise I can give you is to stay away from places with abundant Mana.
One more thing; Our last consultation led me to believe that my calculations are wrong. If your illness has been acting up these past few days, especially if it's intense then it means your time is approaching. Inspect your body and see if there are any dark marks appearing, if there are then that leaves you with two months, at most. The more dark marks, the sooner your body is expected to fail.
I am terribly sorry for my inability to help you, your case is an enigma and even the best Healer in the world will worsen your case. What you need is a place devoid of Mana and such a place doesn't exist on Earth.
Again, I'm really sorry.
Dr, Galen.'
As he held the letter and read it once, twice, thrice... He didn't even know how many times he read it. Maybe he thought that reading it again will change its contents, perhaps it'll give him some hope, unfortunately, it didn't.
What Dr. Galen said was nothing but the truth, he didn't try to give him false hope for he knew that Bin didn't need it. It is better to face the cruel truth than bask in the false hope or the harmless lies.
After a long time had pa.s.sed, Bin's hands clenched the letter, almost ripping it apart. Despite his young and the many suffering he had been through, Bin had always been a person with a strong will yet this unbreakable will broke tonight.
With the death of the Doctor and the piled up problems, he couldn't help but cry. Tears ran down his face and fell on the letter, which soon became drenched.
It was only after a few minutes did he stop. He calmly put the drenched letter in the envelope and raised the sleeve of the butler suit only to see a medium-sized black mark appear just above his elbow.
This wasn't here yesterday, it appeared today and brought with it intense agony that lasted for a split second but made him aware of it. He glanced at the black mark before covering it.
No one knew what he was thinking as he laid back on the bench and stared at the night sky, his teary eyes soon became dry and focused on the beautiful moon. In such a tragic day, it was this starry sky that brought Bin a peace of mind... if only for a few minutes.
'No matter what... I'll succeed.'
...
Unbeknownst to him, since he retrieved the letter from his pocket, there was someone watching him from behind one of the trees. It was none other than Hyue, who tried to talk to him and get him to apologize only to witness 'that'. She saw him read that letter and cry etc...
She kept her silence and merely watched him. The maid only left when Bin was about to get up, her steps were soundless and she was never discovered....
