Chapter 20 I'm Really Not a Cop
Zhou Qingfeng drove the police car away from the turkey barbecue shop. The electric-powered police car was wide, comfortable, and easy to handle. Even a new driver like him was able to handle it.
However, as Zhou Qingfeng drove past a few blocks, the car’s engine switched off by itself and the doors were completely locked. A warning sign appeared on a display screen in the car. An alarm rang to indicate his location to everyone.
“I hate high-tech equipment,” Zhou Qingfeng was not dumb. He immediately guessed that the police could have already received the alarm, located him through the internet, and shut down the police car.
As every door and window of the car was locked, Zhou Qingfeng could only take out the Glock pistol. He aimed and shot at the car’s sunroof. Thank goodness the sunroof was not bullet-proof. After a few shots, an opening that could fit a person appeared.
Zhou Qingfeng checked his current location on the smart display screen before he left the car. He was in the most chaotic area in New York, North Brooklyn, and his current location was around East River. Located in front of him was the Manhattan Bridge that led to Manhattan.
Zhou Qingfeng tidied up his uniform, pulled himself together, and walked nonchalantly past a few blocks. Wearing the police uniform was very deceiving, the police have not noticed him. The pedestrians even occasionally smiled at him when they saw him.
As he walked, he thought of going to a shop to change his clothes. However, at that moment, a Chevrolet appeared from a street corner and zoomed towards him.
Zhou Qingfeng freaked out at the car and quickly jumped away to avoid the Chevrolet. He then saw the car crash into a building.
With a bang, the airbags of the car deployed. While the airbag saved the driver’s life, it hurt his face. Zhou Qingfeng saw bullet holes all over the car and there was a b.l.o.o.d.y, dead body in the pa.s.senger seat.
What the f.u.c.k! Am I having a really unlucky day? Why do unfortunate events keep happening over and over?
Zhou Qingfeng took a few steps away and was planning to leave. However, the window at the back lowered and a young lady yelled for help, “Police officer, help us! Someone is trying to kidnap me.”
I’m not a cop. You’ve got the wrong person. I’m just someone wearing a police uniform. Please find someone else for help!
Zhou Qingfeng did not want to care as he was already knee-deep in trouble. He did not want to care about the trivial matters, but they kept following him. After the Chevrolet crashed, a Ford appeared from the street corner and stopped behind the Chevrolet.
Two robust guys jumped out of the Ford. They got down from the car and spotted Zhou Qingfeng in his police uniform. Their first reaction was to pull out their guns!
What the f.u.c.k! I’m not a cop. I’m just a pa.s.serby!
Zhou Qingfeng was losing his mind. He would rather be arrested by the police. The reason he was in the police uniform was because it came in handy for him to escape the police. However, he had to bear the responsibility of the police while he was doing it. He really wanted to yell out at the sky, “I’m not a police who maintains public order!”
The two robust and burly guys were clearly, unfriendly. Their eyes were sharp and looked like those of a murderer. Judging by the way they pulled their gun out so quickly, they definitely would not listen to Zhou Qingfeng’s explanation.
Dumba.s.s, you are killing yourself!
‘As Quick as Lightning’. I’d always get the first move in an attack!
Zhou Qingfeng’s mind reeled and he felt his hand reaching for the holster on auto-pilot. Even though the pistol that he got from the police, Glock 17, was a little old, it was easy to pull out and aim. There was no need to turn on the safety lock. It could be used as soon as the pistol was retrieved.
Everything felt like it was on fast-forward. He had started to fire in the blink of an eye. Bang! Bang! Bang! All seventeen bullets in the magazine were shot. Unfortunately, not one bullet hit the target.
Zhou Qingfeng had never fired a gun. It would’ve been pure luck if he had shot the target. ‘Marksmanship’, or whatever, was just terrible for him. He was really bad at it!
However, the two robust and burly guys were astonished by the series of shots. Those bullets would’ve worked on anyone. They would either be dead, or hurt, in just a single shot.
To make matters worse, when they were faced with the series of bullets, they figured out clearly that he was a rookie. The big guys were waiting for this rookie to run out of bullets. Then, they would kill him easily.
One, two, three, four, five…. The Glock 17 only held seventeen bullets. The last bullet was fired. It had a ‘last round bolt hold open’ feature and the sleeve did not return.
As the two robust guys heard the sound of the ‘last round bolt hold open’, they immediately stuck their heads out from their cover. They decided to let the unqualified police taste their bullet. However, when they stuck their heads out, Zhou Qingfeng, who was standing opposite them, skipped the reload and started to fire again!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bullets were fired non-stop!
One of them ran out of luck. The moment he poked his head out, his head was shot. Blood spurted out and he fell to the ground.
Zhou Qingfeng’s thought at that point in time was, Don’t undermine my aiming skills. Even though it isn’t accurate. I can make up for it by quant.i.ty!
He robbed two pistols from the police. One of them was in the holster on his leg and the other, was in the holster on his waist. Even though it was a little weird, it paid off. As the bullets for one pistol was about to run out, he threw that one away and pulled out the other pistol to fire.
One of the mobsters was killed and the other one did not dare poke his head out again. However, the thing that caught Zhou Qingfeng off-guard was the appearance of three other mobsters who jumped out of the Ford after the first mobster died. One of them was carrying an a.s.sault-rifle. It looked like it belonged to the AK series which was famous for its overwhelming power.
He would not be able to fight that….. Thirty bullets would fire once its user fully pulled the trigger.
I’m f.u.c.ked. I’m so f.u.c.ked!
However, Zhou Qingfeng’s actions allowed the people in the Chevrolet to take a few breaths. In the few seconds when he was firing at the enemy, the driver removed the airbag and restarted the engine. He reversed and realigned the car. It was ready to move forward to escape.
The lady in the back seat who asked for Zhou Qingfeng’s help opened the car door and yelled, “Get in the car!”
Zhou Qingfeng jumped into the back seat of the car. He hid under the seat with the young lady, their heads lowered. The mobster had finally fired the AK and its blazing power destroyed the rear window of the Chevrolet in the blink of an eye. Countless of broken window pieces flew into the car.
Zhou Qingfeng felt something hot go across his scalp and felt a pain in his neck all of a sudden. As the AK’s bullet ran out, he touched his neck. His hand was filled with blood.
The young lady looked up and saw Zhou Qingfeng’s injury. She said, “It’s alright, it’s okay. They’re just scratches. It’s no big deal.”
It was less than thirty seconds since the Chevrolet crashed, Zhou Qingfeng fired his pistol, and jumped onto the car. Once again, he was on the highway to the gate of h.e.l.l.
Looking at Zhou Qingfeng gasping for breath, the young lady who shared his circ.u.mstances gave him a smile. She put her hand out and said, “I’m Lena Fox. Nice to meet you, Mr. Brave Police Officer.”
Having faced the short, but intense gunfight, adrenaline caused his heart to pound like crazy. He did not put his hand out. He just stared at her and sighed in his heart, I’m really not a cop!
