Despite the darkness surrounding her, she could faintly see a form of a woman by the distance. She didn't know why but she found herself drawn to that woman. And so, she tried to make her way towards her. But no matter how much she walked and walked, their distance didn't seem to decrease.
It was as if the s.p.a.ce around them had been increasing infinitely. And so, realizing that, she stopped. She simply just looked at the woman by squinting her eyes.
Then, for some reason, the form of the woman began to glow brightly. And she began to feel a tingling sensation spreading throughout her whole body.
She had the sudden urge to look down, and when she did, she wasn't that shocked to find her own body glowing brightly as well.
What was happening?
She asked herself as she observed her body glowing brighter and brighter along with the woman across her. Then, when their light both became unbearably bright, she began to see another form by the distance. It was a form that was originally hidden well by the darkness.
A form that she was unable to see until they began to glow brightly.
That form was just like her and the one across her, a woman. But this time, the form had eyes as red as blood and after looking at it intently, she realized that it was looking at her back.
Then, the redness of its eyes soon dripped down from its cheeks to its body. It was a disturbing sight for her but for some reason, she couldn't pry her eyes away from it. She watched, mesmerized, as it dripped and flowed.
But she suddenly felt a burning sensation in her eyes and she instinctively rubbed them. She felt something wet touching her hand and she a.s.sumed they were tears. But when she finally stopped rubbing them, she was taken aback from the presence of the stark red blood by her hand.
With her body glowing white, the blood left a huge contrast. It made it look more prominent and more haunting. She looked to the dark figure in shock and she was startled to see it look back at her at the same time. Then, disturbed by the figure, she pried her eyes away from it as she looked at the other glowing body in the room. But she was shocked when she saw her crying tears of blood as well while she looked back.
Confused, she unconsciously took a step back and she was surprised when the two figures before her followed her movement.
Then she took a step forward.
And another.
And another.
And another.
They followed her movements as though they were her reflections. She raised her hand and pointed in front of her, and they followed suit as they pointed as well.
She felt the need to draw closer to them although the sting in her eyes began to feel uncomfortable.
She took a step forward, one after another until their pointing fingers almost touched. Then, wiping the blood from her face, she looked at both the forms that were now directly in front of her.
What's happening?
She thought to herself but it was as though they heard her and after a pause, they looked at each other before looking back at her.
The gesture made her feel shivers down her spine and she somehow had the urge to run far away from them.
She took one step backward, but they no longer followed.
Instead, they took one step forward.
She took another step back, but they took another step forward.
Then, the two forms suddenly began to take their own step forward continuously, as though they were after her.
Pure terror suddenly rose in her heart and she turned around to run away from them.
She ran and ran and ran until she couldn't breathe anymore.
She felt suffocated and terrified but she felt as though if she remained in there, something bad was somehow going to happen to her.
She ran and ran, going in twists and turns in the darkness. But then, she remembered she was glowing brightly and realized that it was useless trying to lose them.
And so, she decided to push herself to run faster instead. But despite her running and her panting, she couldn't hear anything else. It was as if she was deaf to all the sounds except those that she made.
And so, with her curiosity eating at her, she decided to check if they were still chasing her.
But all she saw behind her was the same darkness she saw. Confused, she stopped her running and looked around. Then, she suddenly felt something snaking around her back. It slithered around as it tried to cover her entire body. And when she was trying to figure out what it was, she was shocked to see tendrils of darkness spreading throughout her body as though they were smothering her glowing light.
Then, she suddenly felt the tendrils wrap tightly around her neck as whispers began to fill her mind.
Kill.
Protect.
Murder.
Save.
Those four words repeatedly bombarded her mind as different voices began to laugh inside.
'Is she truly awake, Abbadon?'
An unfamiliar voice mumbled by the distance.
She didn't know why but the faint voice stuck fear in her heart, making her cover her ears instinctively.
'We've no way of checking, Mammon.'
Another voice spoke, making her headache from the heaviness of all the whispers and voices inside it. Then, she felt the grip on her neck tightened and she began to choke. She tried to grasp anything that she could get her hands on but whenever she touched the darkness that wrapped around her, her hands would always go through it.
She felt her vision start to darken and as the grip on her neck tightened again, she finally drew her last breath…
She abruptly opened her eyes as she gasped out in shock.
"f.u.c.k!"
