Soojiki’s note: Need help with a bit of translation. This is literally the sentence…
ん~〇ンダム。I’m a.s.suming it was mmmhmm, just right…
A bit of context, he said he was going to make something and then ended the chapter with that… google and everything else is no help, so I’m a.s.suming its something a j.a.panese person would only understand, but still give it a shot?… Please and Thanks!
Chapter 7 has this wording as well, so I don’t want to start on it yet… other wise I was aiming for 777.
Enjoy!
Finished with cleaning the shed, I decided to head back to the house. My
stomach grumbled as it woke from its slumber, the smell drifted in the air.
“Today’s nik.u.man?”[TL: Nik.u.man = meat buns/ manju… very tasty btw]
In my previous life example, this would be in the Medieval ages where the water wheel would be the latest technology, or so that’s how I sense with scientific reasoning. However, this world has a high level of magic and magic tools. Although unable to see much since I live in the country side, at the imperial capital, there is automobile fueled by magic stones (mostly the n.o.ble’s vehicle) and even airships flying. Lighting equipment and refrigerators exist too(though only for the wealthy)
Maaa, whatever they’re selling at the capital, I don’t care…but with my three abilities, if I were to take a refrigerator, it’ll be difficult and I’ll lose my daily necessities. The royal palace kitchen might have an abundance of cooking wares too though…
Long ago when the super market had bargain sales going on, those were my stable food, but those microwaveable foods were painful…lonely times.
Although this is a harsh world(era), the land is blessed with an abundance of ingredients. If there’s a miso like thing, then there’s bound to be tomato sauce. Oils can be obtained from plants and there are various herbs grown.
At the sea, there’s fish and of course kombu, sh.e.l.lfish, which are all you can take! At the mountains, you can hunt birds, rabbits and hogs, so there’s no worries about meat. Though you can chance upon orcs, it’s still tasty meats to get. A little further away, bamboo exist. If today, bamboo shoots should be all you can take too.
Bread should have been the staple food during this era and if so there should be bakeries, but there’s regulation on buying wheat. Wheat is used as tax, so if there’s something doable then it belongs entirely to the country. With that kind of management, that concludes the bakeries nonexistent.
Maa, there are loopholes against this. Entrusting the trading guild with transporting to stores(In this village it would be the general store), its possible to buy wheat now.
Yup. As a great man long ago once said “Since you can’t eat bread, its fine if you eat candies!”. Or it might be this. “Since you can’t eat bread, its fine if you eat other things”.
Nik.u.man. Nan. Pasta and Ramen. Cookies. I suck at cooking, but I know the recipes. Then, shouldn’t it be fine for me to teach someone who can cook?
Why am I casually teaching my imouto? She has blooming talent. While only 8 years old, she made nik.u.man from my previous world and failed nik.u.mans.
Being a villager, is that kind of wasteful ability? No thanks to such words of tsukkomi. Living and killing, it’s up to the person themselves to decide. If my imouto wants to become a chef, then that’s good. If they say its good, then as it is its good. Doing what you love while living.
“Ah, Anchan. Please wait a bit. It’s almost done”
Living in the country side, the house has an unbalanced kitchen (There’s two kamado, using the water from the well to wash dishes and using the frozen edge of the refrigerator as the counter).
“Its fine, no hurries. Mom has yet to be back”
Our house is styled like a j.a.panese building with a ban on dirt, and in the living room(western style) there’s a kotatsu. When its winter and the snow’s falling or if its below freezing we also have a fireplace.
From that fireplace, I took the earthenware teapot. I pour the nearby cup’s
content inside.
As one would expect, there’s no coffee or black tea but there are several types of medicinal tea. And since there’s a dandelion like plant, we can create a pseudo coffee. This if my favorite right now and I often drink it.
Mmmhhhh, just right.
