"Do you really think that will stop us? Fate will prevail. Fate will find the child and cleanse him with the light." Priestess Dae warned her with confidence and Kyera chuckled.
"She will find him, but she will be unable to do anything. She can not go where I have sent my children. Afterall, G.o.desses can not cross into another G.o.d's territory." Kyera reminded them, folding her arms. As the door slammed open.
"Who let these b.l.o.o.d.y creatures near my sister?!" Kendrick's voice was ice cold and angry. His body posture was that of a tiger who had been threatened in his own turf.
"Who are you calling creatures? We are high Priestesses." Protested one of the nameless disciples. Kyera however seemed completely impressed as did Kendrick.
"I was calling you three creatures. Every one of you. Useless creatures with no respect and your noses so high in the air, it casts a shadow 4 miles long." Kendrick replied, undeterred by their protests. Dae smiled sweetly at Kendrick and batted her eyelashes.
"Oh come now, Kendrick. Why are you so confrontational?" Dae purred and Kendrick studied her for a moment. Recognition flashed in his eyes.
"I have nothing to do with you Dae. Get the h.e.l.l away from my family." Growled Kendrick, somehow the girl seemed to have sparked further anger. Kyera raised a brow for a split second in surprise, but quickly controlled it. Afterall, it was not a bad idea to let Kendrick a.s.sist in the distraction.
Dae's expression turned black. In her entire life, no one had given her an order like that. Especially not this tiger who once had very different feelings for her. "You have No Authority over me. Only the Lady Fate can stay my hand."
"Oh Really? Should we test that theory?" A deep, and pleasant voice questioned. Kyera felt the sudden rush of comfort that voice provided. She turned to see her Father standing at the door looking nothing like a G.o.d, more like a bad boy from some other time and place.

He leaned against the doorframe with his arms crossed. His Dark hair loose around his shoulders but floating slightly as his aura pulsed with inner rage. It had been a long time since Kendrick saw him this mad. At least 2 years ago, when Fate had stopped him from rescuing Kyera from the net.
Dae tried to seem unaffected but her two companions were visibly afraid. The Shadow King gave them a sweet smile, almost sickly sweet. It was filled with a sensation of power as he pushed off the walk and sauntered forward.
"My daughter has made it clear my grandson does not require your Lady's blessing." He told her calmly, his eyes caught Dae's making her heart freeze for a moment. The tight grip of the Shadow King's pull was clear. She had to fight to clear her mind.
"It is not for humans to decide their fate. Only the Lady has that power." She replied, her voice full of conviction and The Shadow King laughed.
"Then I suppose you are destined to die at the hands of my kin." The Shadow King replied, it was clear he was not tolerating her excuse. He let that sink in a moment before adding "Because that is what will happen if you try to approach my grandson again."
"You can't touch me. It is against the laws for a G.o.d to kill another G.o.d or G.o.ddess's priestess." Dae pointed out, some of the color flowing back to her cheeks as she realized this. The Shadow King made a show of looking puzzled.
"Dear me, that's a scary accusation. I would never do such a thing." He replied as if indignation she would even suggest it. "Afterall, did I say 'I' was going to hurt you?" He asked "I'm sorry, perhaps you should clean out your ears. How can you obey your Quiet G.o.ddess when you can't hear me clearly 6 feet away?" His expression was flawlessly innocent, but his children were struggling not to laugh at the fl.u.s.tered priestess. Kyera almost felt pity for her… almost.
