Years ago, just three generations back, there were 5 tribes of shifters that ran the land of the Frost. We had no true government. Each tribe had a leader, and a council made up of the elders of every family. Back then, Frost Locals were all nomads then, they hunted for food and moved as the food did. We didn't have the ability to grow food, it was before the SnowDrop Flower was implanted in Crystalsa's chest.

There was only one problem, a few of the other nations wanted to try and conquer the Frost Lands and bend them to their will. The tribes individually had no chance of truly succeeding against those odds. So, the Frost lands decided to become a kingdom. The thing about becoming a kingdom is, we had to decide what type of government we wanted. Everyone expected an empire with Emperor, Empress and Kings. However, we decided on a kingdom, like Shadow Vale. One King, One Queen  and a council of elders to help keep the pulse of the people.All that remained was deciding on a king and queen. You see, we didn't want to start our new kingdom in blood.

So the tribe elders gathered and debated. In the end it was decided that there were two main tribes that could have been our Ruling cla.s.s, the Wolves and the Bears. In order to be fair, the decision was made to take the Bear Cheif's son and have him marry one of the wolfelder'as daughters. You see, the bear clan Son Krin was renowned for his intelligence and integrity. He was fair, and very very strong. The wolf clan had 4 daughters and 2 sons but their sons were not known for their ability to lead. They were both Omegas. So it was decided Krin would be king and choose his bride of the four daughters.

Krin decided he wished to marry the youngest daughter of the arctic wolf family, Crystalsa. She was not very… well loved because she was not a fighter. She was a hunter, and she helped take care of the young. A mother figure, just as she always has been. She was considered an Omega, rather than an Alpha and less than a good match for Krin, but she was the one he chose. He made it clear he wanted to marry her and despite attempts at changing his mind, he remained firm. The Clan agreed that it was Krin's choice and if he wanted no other wolf another clan would give him choice of their daughters. Unwilling to give up that power, the Wolf Clan agreed to marry her off.

Krin and Crystalsa made many changes to our kingdom. They built the Palace, and became good partners, even if somewhat dysfunctional. Under their direction the nomadic territories began working together and becoming one clan. It was an amazing time for us, trade and order became commonplace.

They had several children and The Frost land Royals made friends with the Shadow Veil family, who also refused to play the games the three Empires. During one of their trips there, Mordrin's Great Grandmother had given Crystalsa a gift. A handwritten book, the history of the Shadow Veil kingdom.

This book had started something totally new for Crystalsa. A love for reading. She began gathering books from her travels, and Krin a.s.sisted in hiring many storytellers to pen their tales and add to his wife's library. He may have been a gruff man, but he did care for her happiness. They spent much of their quiet time reading together or to their dear children. Eventually, Crystalsa began writing the history of the Frost Lands. She also encouraged her children to write as well.  Eventually, they compiled quite the group of books, they had named them Vilorn Fior. Vilorn means life learning and Fior which means Memories. These books act as a guide for learning what our Predecessors already knew so we may not make the same mistakes they had. Every tribe has their own group of these books, written by their elders one copy of which is always copied upon the author's death and added to the Queen's Own Collection.

These books were written by every royal since. The book given by the Shadow Vale Queen was the turning point for the Frost Born Children. We became creatures of knowledge and understanding, rather than driven by our instincts and emotions. When Krin was killed by an a.s.sa.s.sin, Queen Crystalsa raised their children and ran the kingdom herself. She was Queen of the largest shifter community in existence, and determined we would be our own people.
