The next morning, Carl prepared breakfast. He was hoping to talk to her once more. "I made breakfast, come eat." He said solemnly. He had bags under his eyes, he seemed sluggish. Kim pulled up a seat, before taking the food. "Can we talk?" He asked. "About what?" She asked in reply. "Why you're acting like this.. if I did something wrong, please tell, I'll try to fix it if I can." By this time, he had stopped eating, his eyes were lowered as he was playing with his food. He couldn't bare to look at her, he didn't want to see her eyes, they no longer sparkled with innocence, they were lazy, coloured with indifference.

Her under eyes were also very dark, you could tell Kim was also tired too but what is the reason for her att.i.tude? She wouldn't say, her lips were sealed. He didn't see the hurt that flashed across her eyes as his head was lowered. "You can't fix anything." She said in a low tone. "You don't know that.. you won't even tell me why." He was truly exhausted, though the company was on Christmas break already, he wasn't. He was trying to investigate the person and reason and behind the attack. Up till this point, he has made no progress, he had no clue what's over. Even after locating who pasted the  message to the wall, he had no idea who sent him, he was only given money with instruction to paste it on the wall. The men who tried to cause trouble at his hotels where not even gangsters, they were told it was an audition. As for the group that beat up his team leaders, there was no CCTV footage. Not that it was erased but they were attacked in a blind spot with no witnesses.

"Are you mad at me?" He tried questioning her again. "No," she sighed. "Then did I do something wrong?" She shook her head. "Then why?" He could not comprehend why she was this way. "Did something happen to you?" Finally raising his head. But his question took away her appet.i.te. She placed the spoon down, got up and was about leaving when he held her back. "I understand if you can't tell me, if you won't tell me. I'll give you s.p.a.ce if that's what you need." After saying that, he let go of her hand, "Eat, I'll leave." While all this was happening, Kim couldn't understand either, what went wrong? How did it go wrong? Why was she feeling sad and alone? She felt this hunger deep inside, but she had no idea what she wanted, what she needed. Knowing he was willing to help her, she calmed down a little. "Don't go..." She managed to say. Although she didn't know why she was pushing him away, she wanted him to stay. "Ok, I won't. I'll stay quietly by your side." Yes, he didn't know what she was going through currently, or even the cause, but he relaxed a little knowing it was not because of him. "Let's eat, if you don't want this, let's go out..." Shaking her head, she said, "I don't want to go out." Getting up, he stood a few centimeters a away from her, "Tell me what you want." 

She tensed up when she heard his suggestion, what did she even want? A few days ago, she wanted to kiss him, to ravish him, now she wanted him to stay away from her but she also wanted him to be with her. Unconsciously she was pushing him away while holding him down. She couldn't place her hand on it, she had no answer to her questions. She felt burdened by great pain, it was almost choking her but she couldn't cry. She tried to swallow the lump in her throat, but it wouldn't go down. Whist she was contemplating, he wrapped his hands around her, pulling her closer, she wanted to push him away but she craved his touch. She was conflicted with her own emotions. It was every where, it was out of control.

He tightened his arms around her, like he wanted them to mend into one body, one soul. It was so possessive, she was both repulsed by it and craved it. Closing her eyes, she returned his hug. She felt at peace, she felt secured. "Let's cuddle." She finally said. His eyes widened in disbelief, "A.. are you sure?" He stuttered. She nodded. "You won't regret it, right? You won't try to push me away again, right?" He questioned. She did not have an answer to that, so rather than answer, she pulled him to the bedroom. 

They both laid on the bed without touching because Carl was still hesistant. Suddenly my she pulled his hands as she whispered, "Hold me." He nodded sheepishly and then he scooted over, embracing her. Even though, she was still burdened by her emotions, she felt secure in his embrace, "Tighter." She whispered in an inaudible voice. He could only press her to his body. Her head was on his chest, so she could hear the sound of his heart beat. Equally, she wrapped his hands around him. She liked how they were, but she was craving him. She immediately put her legs between his. He was like a warm fire in a cold winter night.
