A Hero's Multiverse 1 Prolog: End Of The Universe

''Looking at these recordings now, everything feels different compared to back then.'' Says a noticeably aged and depressed Bruce Wayne into the empty void of the Batcave, as the world as he knows it slowly disintegrates and finally stops to exist.

-What happens to somebody that is suddenly erased from ever existing?... The first thing that happens is one gets his soul painfully ripped out of one's body while seeing once body disintegrate... Before you know it you are in the void. A place between reality, universes, and existence itself... It is funny actually... the story of one life, erased by just one single action...-

Drifting around in the void we follow along as Ethen Wayne's soul stubbornly resits to disintegrate. Always hoping that he either dyes or awakens from this limbus of nothingness. Drifting around aimless, sometimes Ethen thinks that he is able to make out a structure in the distance. At other times he thinks he only imagines it.

One faithful second his consciousness awakens from his self induced slumber. The moment he does he crashes through the concrete into some kind of a temple. Happy so suddenly feel something for one, even if it is pain, he gets himself up from the floor. Irritated he starts looking around.

The place he finds himself reminds him of a greek or nordic Temple. Finding no edges or corners in this place, Ethen simply begins to explore.

Unable to find a way in or out of this place aside from the hole in the ceiling, he decides to climb out of. Simply reaching for the house edge, Ethen suddenly discovers, that his ability to fly is still there. So instead of climbing out of this strange room, he simply flies out of it. As he does, he is pleasantly surprised to learn that all his other Kryptonian abilities are still working.

Even as nothing more than a soul, he still possesses the powers of his lineage. Flying out of the hole in the floor, Ethen finds a second hole right above himself leading outside and back into the void. Looking at it, the hole seems to slowly close. Using his x-ray vision to get a better look, he discovers nothing, just atoms miraculously rearranging themselves. Getting frustrated, Ethen keeps his x-ray vision going, while sweeping the room.

Finding the apparently only light source and structure in the room in its center, he goes there. As he does, he finds a man with scars all over his body taken prisoner by white glowing roots. As he gets closer, the man seems to slowly awaken from a nightmare, as he hurts himself while struggling against the roots keeping him in place.

''No, Jim don't do this to me! I just wanted to set everybody free! I am the hero of this story!...'' Shouts the scared man, as he finally awakens. Looking at Ethen, he says. ''... Hey! You don't look like you are from a Marvel Universe!''

Unable to understand what the man is talking about he asks. ''Marvel?''

''Yeah, the failing Comic book publisher, that was dumb enough to sell the movie rights of his most popular heroes to Sony and Fox!''

''I think I still don't get it...'' Feeling a headache coming, Ethen says. ''... Who are you anyway?''

Looking like he is smiling below his black and red mask, the man says. ''Me?! I am Captain Deadpool, Cap to my friends, or Wade 'to awesome to be played by Ryan Raynolds' Wilson, if you remove my mask.''

Ignoring the men rambling introduction Ethen tests the strength of the roots, but finds them indestructible. ''Why are you bound by these roots?''

''Oh, well I just finished the New G.o.d of War and thought, why not Cosplay as Mimir...'' Says the Deadpool sarcastically rolling his eyes. ''... Let's just say I p.i.s.sed off the wrong people, by murdering some others in my last movie...''

Already regretting his next question Ethen asks. ''I don't understand what you are talking about?''

''Corporate greed man, corporate greed. These very family friendly people over at Disney just had to make me PG-13... So I did what every responsible self-respecting Superhero would do... I simply killed their last flagship product... after they destroyed Pixa, and obliterated Star Wars,... the MCU was their last profitable franchise... So I killed off the Marvel Cinematic Universe as retaliation for becoming PG-13!''

Shocked by the man's crazy antics, Ethen still asks. ''You ma.s.sacred a universe only because some folks made a movie about your PG-13?''

''Now you get it...'' Deadpool says, before remembering to ask the strangers name. ''... Who are you anyway?''

Remembering his world getting erased, Ethen says. ''I am Ethen Wayne or me was... I am not sure what I am.''

''Where are you from? Can't be Brooklyn!'' Ask Deadpool once again with a sarcastic undertone.

Ignoring the man's sarcasm, Ethen tells the man in all honesty, ignoring his sarcasm. ''I was borne in Metropolis, but after the death of my parents and the 'Doom of Heroes' I moved to Gotham to live with my uncle Bruce.''

''Never heard of those places...''

Getting more and more irritated with the man bound by glowing roots, Ethen focusses himself on his next question. ''Neither have I heard about this place... Where are we anyway?''

''No f.u.c.king clue! How did you end up here anyway?''

''I don't know. Someday my world got suddenly erased from existence!''

''Seems like...'' Wade wants to comment but is midway interrupted by a now p.i.s.sed off Ethen. ''Just stop it! I guess it is obvious that you have no clue what so ever!''

''I wouldn't say that!...'' States Deadpool, not wanting to return to his nightmares. ''... I might not know a way into your universe, but I know one into mine!''

Seeing through the scared man's plot, Ethen asks. ''I guess this Information wouldn't be for free, are they.''

''Obviously!'' Says Deadpool, rolling his eyes in sarcasm.

Defenseless against this crazy man's logic, Ethen simply asks. ''What do you want then?''

''I want my Mimir Cosplay to be perfected!''

''You want what?''

''I want you to sever my head from my body and take me with you back into the Marvel Universe. I have unfinished businesses there!''

''Didn't you say you killed everybody in your universe?''

''Yes, I did, but this place is separated from time and s.p.a.ce of the multiverse. So when you travel to my Universe, you most likely end up in a time before my little killing spree... Now, do we have a deal?''

''I guess, we do.''

''Good. Now please sever my head.''

''Wouldn't that kill you?''

''I am a mutant, so I don't think so.''

''Should you tell me how I can enter your Universe before I decapitate you!''

''I guess I can tell you... You see this place is a dustbin or crossroad to an inviting amount of Universes...''Deadpool starts to explain before suddenly pointing at the symbols on the walls. ''... You see we are not surrounded by walls, but an infinite amount of Gates. You just have to find the right one.''

''So, now tell me where is the gate to your world?''

''Directly behind me...'' States Deadpool and Ethen can suddenly see a white glowing line on the wall. Seeing Athens surprised face, he says. ''... Ah, I see you have found it. Now please fulfill our deal...''

Just as Athens' eyes begin to glow, signaling his use of heat vision, Deadpool ads. ''... If I die, please being my head to Doctor Strange. He might be able to revive my head.''

''As you wish!'' Says Ethen, as he uses his heat vision to separates Deadpools head cleanly from his body.

Severed had in hand, he walks to the closing lines on the wall. As he gets closer, the room in between the lines vanishes and a city skyline appears in it. Going through this gate between Universes, Ethen suddenly feels a burning sensation on his right hand's middle finger. Having a closer look at his right hand, still holding the severed head, while crossing the gate, he discovers a silver sigil ring on it.

Having unconsciously crossed the gate, he suddenly finds himself free falling into the city below.
