Primordial Blood Throne: Book 1 Chapter 2 - Never Give-Up (1)

The summer heat blazed. On the training courtyard of the Su Family, a group of young people were training in high spirits, occasionally releasing a shout filled with vigor.

"Ha!"

As the sound of exhale could be heard, a palm landed on a rock tile, breaking it in one strike.

"Nice one!" a chorus of praise exploded in the training courtyard.

"Second Young Master is excellent!"

"It looks like he will reach Fifth Layer Forged Body in a few days."

"When that happens, he will become the number one among the third generation of our Su Family."

The target of their praises was a thirteen years old teenager. Although young, his body had already developed.

This teenager was Su Qing, one of the third-generation heirs of Su Family; his father, Su Ke Ji, was the second master and son of the patriarch.

As he received the praises of the servants, Su Qing was showing signs that he enjoyed the attention, and even though what they said wasn't the whole truth, but it did not stop him from enjoying the feeling of having his ego stroked.

However, there was an idiot who would always dampen his enjoyment.

A dull and foolish young servant said, "But Fourth Young Master has reached Fifth Layer Forged Body just a few days ago."

Su Qing's face immediately turned black.

Silence descended upon the courtyard.

Moments later, a sharp-witted servant knocked the young servant on the head: "What nonsense are you saying? How can a blind person be compared with Second Young Master?"

The young servant did not dare to retaliate but stubbornly replied, "However it is still Fifth Layer Forged Body."

Su Qing did not wish to listen anymore, and so, turned his head and walked off.

The group of servants behind him looked at each other, they simultaneously turned towards the young servant and began throwing a series of kicks and punches. Only until his face was bruised and battered did they leave, all the while cursing at him.

The young servant was also obstinate and did not utter a word, protecting his head. Only after the group of servants have left, did he stand up, pat off the dust on his body, and spat at the direction where the servants left. He was an odd-job worker of the training courtyard and not an attendant of the Second Young Master. He began to tidy up the courtyard without a word after standing up.

After taking a few steps, he saw a person standing under a large willow tree not far him.

"Fourth Young Master?" the young servant released an alarmed shout.

Su Chen was wearing a long white robe and silently standing under the tree; his robe fluttered in the wind, and although only twelve years old, he was emitting an elegant aura. The only exception was his pair of eyes. Although they looked like the eyes of any other person on the surface, one could see the sluggish and lifelessness within it, not a shred of spirit could be seen.

Hearing the young servant's voice, Su Chen smiled: "Ming Shu, you are being stubborn again."

Ming Shu, the young servant cracked a smile: "Fourth Young Master must have heard, this lowly one is just feeling indignant for you and said a bit too much."

"What's the point of fighting over a few words? It caused you to receive a beating for nothing."

Ming Shu scratches his head: "I just cannot bear to see them talking nonsense. Fourth Young Master is obviously the number one among the third generation of our Su Family, yet they must say it is Second Young Master."

"If he is number one then he is number one, no need to fight over it." Su Chen indifferently replied, "I am a blind man; even if I reached the Fifth Layer Forged Body, I am still blind."

As Su Chen spoke, he walked towards the training courtyard.

Ming Shu stupidly looked at the back of Su Chen.

The Fourth Young Master before was filled with spirit, valor, and confidence.

However, the incident ten months ago changed everything.

An old beggar came out of nowhere and blinded the eyes of the young master. From then on, an endless darkness accompanied the boy.  At that time, the young master entered a cycle of uncontrollable pain and suffering, however, he managed to walk out of that pain quickly, and continued to pursue his martial path. Losing his sight did not cause him to give up, on the contrary, he improved by leaps and bounds, and within a few months, he managed to reach the Fifth Layer Forged Body.

The determination and effort displayed by this young master had thus earned Ming Shu's heartfelt respect.

Maybe it was also because of this reason, whenever the lackeys of Su Qing began to bootlick their master, he would always stand up to right their words, despite being beaten up. Either way, Ming Shu felt that it worth it.

Su Chen was now standing on the training courtyard, "Ming Shu, what are you doing? Come a.s.sist me."

"Coming!" only now did Ming Shu remember that Su Chen was unable to see and hurried over, a.s.sisting him to lift a pair of heavy rock shackles, "Fourth Young Master, over here, be careful…Fourth Young Master, how come you are alone again, where are your servants?"

"I have remembered the road here and decided to come alone. I am here to train my body and not here to let people serve me, having them here will only be bad for me."

As Su Chen spoke, he lifted the rock shackles and began the day's training.

Sweat dripped down slowly from his forehead, shining brightly under the rays of the hot sun.

After ending the day's training, Su Chen returned to his house.

There were servant girls a.s.sisting him to change his clothes and prepare hot water for bathing.

As he entered the warm bath, feeling the warmth removing the weariness from his body, Su Chen released a deep, long sigh. The moment when the old beggar struck his eyes with the two cold glints began to surface in his mind.

The incident from ten months ago has caused Su Chen to completely lose his sight.

When he woke up, he experienced an unspeakable pain coming from his eyes.

However, that deep pain was not as terrifying as the fear brought forth by the never-ending darkness.

At that moment, when he understood what he lost, Su Chen nearly went mad.

Despite the Su Family inviting over ten different "Famous Doctors" and "Divine Doctors", none could heal him.

Su Chen's father, Su Cheng An, began a city-wide hunt for that old beggar in a rage. However, there were no results; and the old beggar could not be found. Su Chen confirmed to have completely lost his sights and could no longer see anything. Any ability to sense light has been lost.

He was left in utter despair.

That was the most painful moment of his life; no matter how his family consoled or mediated, they were unable to help him break free from the fear and rage that the darkness has brought him.

During that period, Su Chen cried and screamed painfully every day, smashing everything he could put his hands on.

A situation that continued for three months before it slowly turned for the better.

Maybe it was due to growing accustom to the darkness, or maybe he recognized that it  irreversible, and no matter how he raged, it would not change the current situation. Either way, Su Chen finally sobered up.

He no longer acted crazily and entered a period of long silence.

This behavior once caused Su Chen's mother, Tang Hong Rui, to worry incessantly, fearing that her son would take his own life.

However, Su Chen did not do anything in the end.

Until a certain morning, he said, "I want to train."

From that day onward, he once again started walking the path of martial cultivation as a descendant of the Su Family.

This astonished many people. They did not understand how Su Chen could recover so quickly. However, no matter the reason, this was a good thing.

At that time, no one had any expectation for him. What if a blind person breakthroughs the Forged Body stage and enters Energy Guiding Realm?

At that time, the members of the Su Family were feeling heartfelt happiness that Su Chen had became calm of mind.

The members of the Su Family were truly concerned and protective over Su Chen.

Until three months later.

Three months later, Su Chen reached Fifth Layer Forged Body.

Although blind, he was still the most outstanding amongst the third generation.

And that made people start to feel uncomfortable.

Su Qing is undoubtedly one of them.

No one liked to be a permanent number two, and losing to a blind person made that feeling even worse.

Su Chen, why did you not continue to be a proper blind man and remain weak? We can protect you and cherish you, isn't that better? Why must you clear your head? Why must you focus on training? Why must to improve rapidly? Even if you are the number one among the third generation, so what? Do you really think you can best anyone?

You're still blind!

Without a doubt, these were the thoughts of Su Qing.

Maybe the other third generations were having the same thoughts……

Su Chen could feel these thoughts were on their minds, but he did not choose to give up.

Within his mind, the words of the old beggar resounded, "Meeting me is also your fortune because I will give you a future of infinite possibilities…. Allow me to change your eyes, not only will you see more, it will also help you to clearly see the true face of this world!"

"Allow me to change your eyes…… Allow me to change your eyes……"

Su Chen softly mumbled those words, a sharp glint ran through his lifeless eyes.

Within the endlessly long night, this phrase was like a candle fire burning in the darkness, it had ignited the ray of hope within Su Chen's heart, becoming his source of motivation to never give-up!
