“Jie” Wu De did not reveal any proud expression despite being complimented. He, instead asked Dairo to continue with the test seriously.

He knows that the “enemy” still has four bullets left. The battle hasn't end yet.

“I understand. I'll treat you as an exception. The smiling corn cowboy pulled out a second flintlock from his waist, and said: “You can rest a.s.sured that the bullet I shot just now has given me an idea of your strength. From now on, the rest of my attacks will just be my special test to you. Try to fight back the best that you can offer."

After dividing the bullets equally, and loading them to both his flintlocks, Dairo seemingly appeared to have gotten a little more serious as well. He arched his back, and crossed his arms like a cross. As if he was a fully strung arrow on a bowstring, Dario looked like he would launch his attack at Wu De at any given moment.

Just as I blinked, Dario's entire body flew out like a bullet. As he got closer to Wu De, he pressed the triggers of both his flintlocks at the same time.

With the effect of Dario's moving speed, the two bullets shot were much more rapid than the first bullet. Following a bizarre trail, the bullets were aimed at Wu De's forehead and left knee respectively.

“Jie…!!”

Wu De was unable to cope so easily this time. However, he still managed to withdraw his left foot and dodged the bullet that was aimed below his waist. At the same time, Wu De's used his wooden sword to shield his forehead, and managed to repel the specially made bullet once again.

“Not bad…” Dario murmured. Meanwhile, during this time, he found Wu De's weakness.

With a flying kick, Dairo struck a heavy blow to Wu De's right ankle that was supporting Wu De entire body weight. The blow was merciless. There isn't any difference between the test and actual combat.

Having lost the support of his body, Wu De was pulled towards the ground by the demonic claws of gravity.

Bam! Bam! Another two shots were fired. They were the last two bullets Dairo had left.

Surprisingly, however, under the situation where he lost his footing, Wu De launched a proactive counterattack instead, putting everything that he had in his attack. Waving the wooden sword, he struck one of Dario's flintlock by chance.

And as if it was a miracle performed by the G.o.ddess of potatoes, the bullet which trajectory was forcefully changed struck its own companion. The last two bullets of Dairo collided into each other, then turned their heads towards the empty ground.

Boom!

Wu De fell to the ground. Meanwhile, the shocked Dario used the muzzle of his flintlock to press against Wu De's chest.

Although Wu De lost the battle, he won the test.

In a battle against a S rank, he had survived for a total of five times, though it was clear Dairo did not use his full power.

“You've surpa.s.sed my expectation… Just from the results of the actual combat… You already have the strength of an A Rank adventurer…” Dairo said in a grave tone as if something was on his mind.

“Jie Jie~” Right at this time, Wu De finally gave out a proud laugh as he lied on the ground. He seemed to be quite satisfied with his performance.

Bam.

But with the sound of a sixth gunshot resounding, Wu De gave out a mournful cry as he cover his chest that was hurting with acute pain.

Wait a minute? Where did the sixth bullet come from?

Wah… Dairo, how could you? You treacherous villain!

“Hahaha. Sorry. But this is my advice for you.” Dairo put his flintlocks back into his waist holster, then he held out his hand to Wu De who was lying on the ground before explaining: “Don't you find it weird that although I have two guns, I only load them with an odd number of bullets?”

“Jie…” After hearing Dairo's explanation, did Wu De finally realized the abnormality behind it.

“In a real battlefield, no one will provide you with accurate information. And that's why we must learn how to a.n.a.lyze our surrounding for information.” Though his reasoning was rather specious than sound, Dairo acted perfectly normal as he patted away the dust on Wu De, and picked up the scoreboard before declaring: “You don't have to partic.i.p.ate in the next test anymore. I'll give you S rank as your score be it for defensive capabilities or for offensive capabilities.”

“Oh! Oh!” The crowd around me cheered. Not a single of them wasn't proud of Wu De's performance, especially Di Yana.  Holding her own shoulders, it was as though she had experienced an o.r.g.a.s.m as she sat paralyzed on the ground with a contented look on her face while she looked at her younger brother.

Officers! That's the one! She will definitely commit crime in the future as well! Quickly detain her and those lolicons!

But, another minute has pa.s.sed once again.

Thirty seven.

Hah…

I rose from the ground.

It seems that this examination will last for quite a long time huh. I have no purpose staying here waiting as well. After all, I am the last in the queue.

“Where are you going…?” Kaiser, the little animal beside me asked with a naive doubt in her translucent pupils.

d.a.m.n it… I really want to put her on my bed along with the potatoes so that when I go to bed at night, I can hold them with both of my hands, one on each side!

That will be a literal paradise.

“Nothing, I'm just going out on a walk.” I said, holding back my shook heart as I pretend to be calm on the inside.”

“But, it's going to be your turn soon…”

“It's still early. I'll be back soon.” I turned away and left the square amidst the crowd cheering and the questioning of Kaiser.

Although I said I was going on a walk, the speed of my legs was identical to when I run.

Anxiousness.

Irritable.

Impatience.

And fear.

My heart is trembling.

Why do I feel this way?

Why?

What do I want to get by doing this?

Despite feeling this way, I have a vague hunch that If I do not act now, I will surely regret this for the rest of my life.

Even if… I don't even know what exactly do I mean by “act”.

But, I know one thing for sure.

And that is my shoulders…
