He stuck his soul close to his heart and fell in a stasis state that would allow him to absorb more essence to strengthen his soul and he may be able to reform a body after a century or two using the heart as the source, but his plan was derailed when Han Zu waltzed in his resting place and yoinked his body along with the heart.
