After Yun Rong's interruption, Lu He Nian really seriously pondered over what kind of work to give her. At the moment, he felt even more worried if the young lady went to find work somewhere else.

It wouldn't even do to place her in another department in the company. First, because Yun Rong could not do anything. Second, due to the origin of his life fate, there were very few females working in the company. What could be seen was just a bunch of male employees. The majority of these male employees were only slightly over 20 years old as they had graduated university for just a few years. No need to mention being married, they didn't even have girlfriends.

Therefore, when Zhang Chong Ming mentioned that the freshly-made cakes from the cake shop were already done, she joyfully followed behind him to take those cakes.

The group of secretaries were all single dogs without girlfriends, so they didn't know the preference of the ladies. However, after hearing Zhang Chong Ming saying that it was for the sake of their boss, all of them agreed to order several different cake flavors. Those multi colored cakes arranged neatly inside the display were really pleasing to the eyes. 

Yun Ron was immediately attracted. While she ate the chocolate mousse in her hand, she smilingly said to Zhang Chong Ming: "Thank you, this cake is really delicious."

It smelled so good and tasted so smooth. If she had known earlier that the human things were so delicious, at that time, she shouldn't have turned the construction building over in Dan Qiu Mountain. She remembered there was a pile of human food inside. 

Remembering how much delicious food she had wasted, Yun Rong felt regretful.

Yun Rong had not yet finished speaking but Zhang Chong Ming felt the director's gaze from behind him turning as cold as ice. He couldn't help trembling and said: "Miss Yun doesn't need to thank me. I was just acting on the instructions from the director. Our director is a very attentive person."

Yun Rong didn't expect that it was prepared by Lu He Nian. She felt a bit embarra.s.sed when she recalled how she had just scolded someone and called him a rogue. She couldn't help exposing a fawning smile at him and said: "Thank you, second brother!"

Then she earnestly continued: "You are going to meet with good luck!"

Hearing the young lady softly calling him ‘second brother', Lu He Nian's mood turned for the better. He bent his lips, took out a handkerchief and wiped the chocolate stuck at the corner of Yun Rong's mouth. He faintly said: "If you like it, then eat a bit more."

Since Lu He Nian needed to handle some business matters in the afternoon, the three people sat inside the shop for a while before sending Yun Rong back to the hotel.

Yun Rong had only eaten a few pieces of the cakes and did not feel satisfied yet. Her heart was unwilling ah, if she had known earlier then she would have eaten a few more mouthfuls. As they left the cake shop, she turned her head back a few times to look at it.

Lu He Nian took in the young lady's reluctant appearance and broke out in laughter. Rubbing the top of Yun Rong's head, he said: "I have already asked Zhang Chong Ming to take away the cakes. All will be sent to the hotel for you to eat later. You have already eaten, so you cannot eat any more right now."

This kind of sweet dessert should be eaten in moderation.

Perhaps Lu He Nian himself didn't realize that the way he spoke just now resembled an old father coaxing his daughter. 

She had eaten that much? Yun Rong was stunned and hurriedly restrained her expression. If she had kept eating, she would be exposed ah. Which regular human would eat so much stuff in the morning? Lu He Nian's reminder was fortunately timely, otherwise she would look suspicious.

Yun Rong cautiously patted her stomach . After hearing that the rest of the cakes were taken away, her heart was happy and she nodded her head while beaming. 

Zhang Chong Ming who watched the whole episode of his director's out-of-character behaviour from beginning to end was already numb. He followed the two people and climbed into the car, then took out his mobile phone to check. There were already several messages from the group of secretaries, all asking whether the cakes were liked or not and if there was any other place where they could a.s.sist the director.

He carefully took a quick look at the back row and glimpsed Lu He Nian's pampering smile and silently turned his head back. He typed in the WeChat text box: The director is very satisfied, exposing an old man's smile.

Secretary 1,2,3: ? ? ?

When sending Yun Rong back to the hotel, Lu He Nian didn't forget to remind her not to run anywhere. He still needed to make a few arrangements for her work. 

Yun Rong nodded her head. Just a moment ago she took the time to scout the situation at Dan Qiu Mountain. Those old archaeologists were still holding small brushes and working on the soil. Even after a long time, they hadn't managed to brush that many soil. Supposedly, it would still take them some time to work. Her taut heart was immediately put down. 

At this rate, it wasn't that urgent for her to find work within this one-two days. Eating delicious things was still more urgent!

On the way back to the office, Lu He Nian had already restored his usual quiet and cold appearance. Leaning back with his legs on top of one another, he showed a languid and carefree look.

Lu He Nian took a deep breath, the young lady's faint fragrance still lingered inside the car. It wasn't like the smell of perfume, yet astonishingly he felt that it was a very good smell. He placed his hands on his knees while his index finger and thumb rubbed each other. His fingertips could still feel the young lady's smooth hair on the top of her head and his pupils grew dark.

ROFLMAO I though the ‘old father' in the t.i.tle referred to Old Master Lu… but it turns out it is about LHN spoiling YR as an old father would do to a young daughter? ??

Aah I hope they would talk about food more often, the pics that come out in the research results are always so yummy

Edit: Since we schedule our posts to have a regular release (I swear otherwise we would forget to post the chapters) at the time they are posted we are usually not paying attention. We used to,  but not anymore, since rl has become hectic and we have too many things to deal with. We just forget that today at this hour this chapter will be psoted. And that's why many times there are long delays between actual posting and being updated at NovelUpdates. If you want to read the chapters as soon as they come out, there are 3 options: 1- subscribe to the blog, 2-  good souls among the subscribers will upload it to NU in our stead (and we'll be very grateful^^), 3- there's actually no option 3 bc I forgot or maybe it never existed to begin with.

Just saying this bc rn for me is almost midnight, I am dead tired and just by chance I noticed that it was Monday (altho you know it, sometimes you don't fully realize all what it implies) and there was no chap in NU… this is 10h later than the posting, and there's quite a few people who would usually read it in this time but today have been unable to since it was not in the directory… Idk I just wanted to let you know what the situation was like and also so that you know that we are punctual and the chaps are always there when they should (mmm I guess option 3 is you have good memory and know when the releases are so you just check it yourself without being notified), but also you shouldn't rely on us (and that is entirely our fault, my apologies) to have timely updates on NU, because it's just not really compatible with our lifestyles anymore… I miss summer T^T goodnight  ??
