Hearing the familiar voice, Mu Yifan quickly raised his head and saw a tall man standing by the doors. His eyes lit up: “Beitian!”

Good thing this part of the story line hadn’t deviated.

Zhan Beitian discovered Mu Yifan’s arms were twisted behind his back. He deeply furrowed his brows and directed his sharp gaze at the two guards.

Shaken to the core by his cold eyes, they quickly released him.

Mu Yifan swiftly ran up to Zhan Beitian and stood by his side.

Zhan Beitian looked at the twenty shopping bags around him. He coolly asked: “What happened here?”

Mu Yifan angrily stared at the two guards: “Go ask them!!! For no reason, they barred me from entering!”

They hastily explained: “Sir, the situation was like this. Earlier, there were three ladies who said that a pervert with a bandaged face was stalking them. Therefore, we barred him.”

Mu Yifan furiously replied: “PERVERT?!! SCREW YOU!!! WHO DID YOU SAY IS A PERVERT?! WHAT PART OF ME LOOKS LIKE A PERVERT?!!”

The two security guards: “….”

His whole face was wrapped up with gauze, like he had something to hide. No matter how one looked at him, he did look like a pervert.

“NOT TO MENTION, SINCE WHEN WAS I STALKING THEM?!!”

The guards looked inside the restaurant at Rong Xue and her friends. “Those three ladies said it.”

Mu Yifan and Zhan Beitian turned to look inside.

Zhan Beitian saw the woman in the middle. His eyes then narrowed and his gaze suddenly turned icy.

The women stood a bit far from Zhan Beitian. They only noticed his handsome complexion but didn’t see his cold glare.

“That man’s very handsome.” said one of Rong Xue’s friends.

Rong Xue absentmindedly stared back at Zhan Beitian. Her heart beat faster.

It wasn’t that she had never seen handsome men before but someone who was as handsome and with such a dominating presence as Zhan Beitian was rare.

The other friend snickered: “He seems to be looking at Rong Xue. He probably likes her.”

Rong Xue blushed: “Don’t talk nonsense.”

“Yo, Rong Xue’s blushing.”

She saw that Rong Xue was interested in the man so she came up with an idea: “Rong Xue, that pervert seems to be good friends with that handsome man. Go up and tell that pervert that it’s all a big misunderstanding. Use this opportunity to give that handsome man a good impression.”

Rong Xue wavered but her heart was telling her to approach him.

Right outside of the restaurant, Mu Yifan looked at the women and helplessly rubbed his forehead. After thinking about what he had just done, it did seem suspicious: “This is just a misunderstanding. When I was waiting for the elevator, I overheard them that there was a French restaurant nearby so I wanted to come over to eat.”

Of course, his real goal was to ‘coincidentally’ b.u.mp into the male lead but he didn’t think that he’d be taken for a pervert. How unfair!

“This….”

The guards were stuck between a rock and a hard place. Just as they were figuring out how to resolve this, Rong Xue walked over and elegant smiled. She politely said: “Sir, I am very sorry that we misunderstood you. The security guards didn’t hurt you, did they? If you don’t mind, let me treat you and your friend to a meal. I want to formally apologize.”

“….” Mu Yifan looked at Rong Xue. He was speechless.

The person who was wronged was him yet this female character kept staring at the male lead. What the h.e.l.l was this supposed to mean?!

He tugged on Zhan Beitian’s sleeve.

Zhan Beitian snapped back to reality. He glanced from Rong Xue to Mu Yifan and coldly asked: “What?”

“I’m hungry.”

Zhan Beitian’s eyes flashed with discontent: “Why did you choose to eat at this time?”

“I just finished shopping.” Mu Yifan sensed that Zhan Beitian was angry at him but he didn’t know what it was about. He wouldn’t have channeled his anger at Rong Xue onto him, right?

Zhan Beitian helped him carry his bags and ignored Rong Xue who kept looking at him. He then turned around and quietly spoke to the two foreigners who were waiting for him. They nodded their heads and left.

Zhan Beitian brought Mu Yifan inside and ordered a private room. Afterwards, the server led them up to the third floor.

Her friends saw Rong Xue’s expression turning very ugly. They realized that her invite must’ve been rejected so they swiftly walked over to comfort her.

“Rong Xue, are you alright?” One of them asked with great concern.

Rong Xue turned her head and glared at her. She angrily responded: “It’s all because of your stupid idea! You made me lose face!!! That man doesn’t care one bit about me at all!!!”

Her friend felt wronged. Yes, the idea was hers but Rong Xue wouldn’t have followed it if she hadn’t agreed to it in the first place!

Rong Xue’s beautiful expression grew sinister: “The more he ignores me, the more I want him. And you two!!! No matter what methods you use, I want this man to remember me! Get his contact information! If not, Rong Corporation will cancel all partnerships with your companies!!!”

Their expressions turned unsightly yet they grudgingly smiled: “We’ll definitely get his contact info.”

Rong Xue coldly snorted ‘hmph’ and walked inside the restaurant. She didn’t notice her two friends glaring at her from behind.

After arriving at the elegant, quiet room on the third floor, Mu Yifan asked the server for a medium done, black pepper steak.

Zhan Beitian instead requested: “I want five black pepper steaks, all well done. Cancel the one that he had just ordered.”

Mu Yifan widened his eyes at him: “That many? You’re not full yet? Well done steak may not taste that good.”

Zhan Beitian looked at him without saying anything.

Mu Yifan soon realized that these five black pepper steaks were ordered for him. Indeed, he recently had a growing appet.i.te. Not to mention, eating medium done meat was not good for his stomach.

“Lately, I did eat a little too much.” He embarra.s.singly chuckled. “Right…. I didn’t think that we’d be this fated to have met here. Earlier, you were walking out the restaurant with two foreigners. Were you having your business meeting here?”

Zhan Beitian flatly answered ‘yeah’ and said no more. He sank into deep contemplation.

Mu Yifan noticed that his eyes were shrouded with darkness. He knew that he was thinking about the encounter with Rong Xue.

The room’s atmosphere suddenly grew cold. It was as if the AC had been set at 18 degrees. He uncontrollably shivered.

Mu Yifan quickly took out a casual styled shirt from his shopping bag: “Beitian, I bought you some clothes. Look! Like it?”

He bought them accordingly to real life Zhan Beitian’s preference. The Zhan Beitian from his novel should like it as well.

Zhan Beitian didn’t think that Mu Yifan would buy him clothes. He was slightly surprised: “You bought me clothes?”

Mu Yifan giggled: “Yep! They should fit you. I got them in your size.”

Zhan Beitian warily asked: “How do you know my size?”

Mu Yifan lightly coughed: “Ahem! I guessed just by looking.”

The truth was that he knew the real life Zhan Beitian’s measurements.

“Thank you.” Zhan Beitian was sincerely grateful. He looked at the shirt in his hands and was quite pleased. No matter the style or the color, it perfectly matched his taste.

If he was to buy clothes at the mall, he would pick this kind too.

Sensing that the room’s atmosphere had returned to normal, Mu Yifan rapidly put away the shirt. He could try all of them on later. Just when Zhan Beitian’s mood had lightened up, he then asked: “Do you have any plans this afternoon?”

According to the story line, after the male lead had negotiated with the two firearms dealers, he was supposed to give himself the rest of the day off. Mu Yifan didn’t know if there were still any deviations in the plot.

He felt dispirited: “What do you mean by ‘unsuitable?’ You mean, you don’t want to go or what? Can you provide a clearer explanation?”

Zhan Beitian swept a glance down his chest: “Vigorous exercises are not suitable for you.”

He was dumbfounded: “How are they not suitable? I’ve done these before!”

“Abdominal distension.”

Mu Yifan suspiciously asked: “Who said that one with abdominal distension can’t do vigorous exercises? How come I didn’t know of this?”

Zhan Beitian kept silent.

Mu Yifan thought that since it hadn’t been easy for the male lead to finally be on the same page as him, he must think of a suitable, entertaining activity that wasn’t too strenuous: “Alright then. How about we go to the movie theater? Should be fine, yeah?”

Zhan Beitian looked into his eyes which were pleading at him. He deeply furrowed his brows and casually nodded.

“Yay!!! I’m going to pick a movie right now.” Mu Yifan excitedly took out his cell phone and searched online for a good film: “Let’s watch action. How about it?”

“Too violent.”

Mu Yifan was dumbfounded again. The male lead who had killed so many zombies suddenly thought that an action film was too violent. This was too hilarious.

“Then, let’s watch thriller?”

“Too b.l.o.o.d.y.”

“Horror?”

“Too suspenseful.”

“Comedy?”

“Too boring.”

“Romance?”

“Not my thing.”

“Sci-fi?”

Hearing this, Zhan Beitian couldn’t help but think of the apocalypse. His gaze darkened: “Don’t want to watch that.”

Mu Yifan finally exploded: “f.u.c.k YOU!!! What the h.e.l.l do you want to watch then?!”

He never knew that the male lead was so picky. This didn’t work and that didn’t work. What did he want?! If he didn’t want to go out, then he should’ve said so! He shouldn’t waste his time!

Zhan Beitian glanced over his phone. Suddenly, the corner of his lips lightly curved upward. He pointed at the screen and said: “Let’s watch this one.”
