Everything in the world had energy, and energy was split into three main types, elemental, life and death. Spirits were part of death energy. Everyone had a soul, and even due to the New World's necromancy, death was not as permanent as on Earth.

Xiao Lin renewed his focus, and he started to absorb those fragments within himself. It was so he could turn himself into a spigot -- a spigot that could open and close the pa.s.sage. Of course, it was not something his soul or body could do, and it required the power of law to pull off.
