Unfortunately for them, as muscular as he was, Lance truly only cared about becoming stronger than his current state, so thinking about romantic relationships was never a thought to him, even though many of the female students were rather beautiful. He was equivalent to a training junkie and a muscle head.
Making it into the cla.s.sroom without stopping, Lance greeted his teacher who was waiting while reading some type of book. Looking up towards her student, Lily seemed to be deep in thought before nodding her head towards him.
"Teacher, I could hardly sleep this entire week thinking about our last conversation. I hope that maybe you are going to teach me a killer skill to use with my light element, or maybe you found a pill recipe which has only appeared recently from the ancient times?" Lance asked Lily with his eyes emitting a bright light.
"Sit down Lance, if I knew that this week would only make it harder for you to relax and become more composed, I would have told you the news sooner and left you to deal with it accordingly. Did I not teach you anything during the time we have had together?" Lily seemingly frustrated pulled out a crimson colored whip as a fire burned in her eyes.
As he became stronger and more mature, Lance's personality showed a much different side towards others. When a topic had to do with training, his eyes would light up from curiosity since it was his favorite topic. While anything outside of training or helping his friends or family, would make him rather bored and uninterested.
This couldn't be helped, because once Lance started to become stronger, the Griffin Academy slowly gave him more responsibilities and would even greatly reward him the stronger he became or the more pills he would make. From living in such a way for an entire two years, how could the importance of becoming stronger and more valuable not change Lance?
"Now, every so often, Bitter Falls decides to throw two tournaments, one that would be for the younger generation of experts focusing on the warrior path, and of course for those who focus on the mystic path. Luckily for you, the age cutoff for both tournaments is thirteen. So although you are still behind other strong compet.i.tors if you choose to attend, I personally feel that you have a genuine shot of at least pa.s.sing the preliminary rounds in the mystic tournament."
"However, if you were to try and enter the tournament with those in the warrior path, you would most likely die before you could even get past the first preliminary round. There are over ten individuals who are all at the 4th rank as warriors who would be attending, many from the n.o.ble clans in the city and several from academies."
"So Lance, since you qualify to attend the mystic tournament, would you be willing to represent our Griffin Academy? I understand that we have treated you very well over these past two years, but alas, we are still rather on the lower tier of academies in the city and can't offer you any alliances with other academies who would be sending their students."

"But before you answer, I asked the dean for something and he approved of it. I am hoping that this may give you the courage to face this new obstacle." Lily told Lance as she opened up her storage ring and presented a new robe to him.
"This-" the difference between the robe which Lily was gifting to Lance compared to the one he was currently wearing, was that it was a robe most suitable for combat, and also had the Sacred Ember clan's symbol on the back. If it wasn't to give his clan an easier time back home by sending extra funds to his father, Lance would have been able to hire someone to do this for him.
"If you choose to represent our academy in the tournament, we will also allow you to have this free of charge." Lily now smiling handed the robe over to Lance. In theory, he was the type who was constantly trying to become stronger and would never miss out on a chance like this, but Lily and the dean wanted to make sure of this.
"I will do it!" Lance shouted before kowtowing towards Lily as several tears streamed down his face. It was normal for Griffin Academy to reward their students for making progress in their training and all of this time, he understood that only by becoming stronger, would he be able to a.s.sist his clan while on his path to becoming an immortal.
This was the very first time since he had been in the academy, where an actual personal gift was given to him, even if it was for the sake of making him do something for the academy as well. Still, no matter how many years he would live moving forward, Lance would always remember this gesture and would always a.s.sist Griffin Academy however he could.
"The only reason we want you to attend, is because we feel that your physical speed and strength will be enough of a difference maker for you to survive through the preliminary rounds of the tournament. Even if you could only survive and get knocked out in your first battle in the main tournament, it would be the furthest our students have been able to go."
"Make your preparations, because you have yet to breakthrough into the 2nd rank as a mystic, while a handful of your top compet.i.tors are of the 4th rank while many are at least of the 3rd ranks. You may have an edge in one way, but you are completely outcla.s.sed in another and must learn how to use your advantages to overcome your disadvantages." Lily told Lance before sending him off.
The tournament would be starting in three weeks, and there was nothing that Lily could teach him in this amount of time to help push Lance further along. Therefore, she could only make sure that he would continue his training until the very last day before the tournament.
