When I woke up, the sight of my beautiful mate brought a smile to my face. She rolled over onto her side to the point where I could see her face directly towards me. I reached my hand out and softly caressed her face as she leaned into my hand, then stranded one of my hands through her long brunette hair. She slowly reached out and wrapped her arms around me then pulled herself over to me and hugged me in her sleep.

"So cute..." I said aloud and her morning voice kicked in and it was so soft and sweet.

"What happened...?" She asked a little groggy.

"Nothing baby, we need to get ready for school." I said softly while rubbing her back. We both got up and Lia jumped in the shower and I used one of the other showers. About

fifteen minutes later I had just got out and walked back into my room to change into my school clothes and Lia was already dressed dressed in some skinny jeans and a black tank top.

"Hey, Lia why do you and Currin only ever wear tank tops.?" I asked and she paused and looked up at me.

"No reason... Just more comfortable I guess.." She said before turning back at the mirror and finished drying her hair and brushed out her long locks of hair that had a nice soft curl to them.

"Alright well after school today I wanted us to go and get Currin enrolled in our school. She'd be a soph.o.m.ore right?"

"Mhm" She simply said then slid on a pair of her vans and left so I could get dressed.

I drove Ophelia and I to school and when I pulled into the drive way, I took both mine and Lias backpack and the look I was given was hysterical.

"Come on baby." I said as she curled her legs up to her chest and started pouting.

"Nu.. Gimme my backpack.." She said in a little baby voice and my heart melted.

"I will pick your little a.s.s up and carry you into school." I said and that was all the motivation she needed and she hopped out of my truck. We both walked into the school and I had my arm wrapped around Lia. She was a little nervous as we walked through the halls and took in all the murmurs and stares we got.

"They're looking..." She said, just to the point that I could hear.

"Then I can do this...." I paused and turned towards Lia, planting a soft kiss on her lips before pulling away and proceeding to walk as she stood there frozen.

"H-Hey!" She yelled out before running up to me and taking my hand. I chuckled at how shy she was being now and when we pa.s.sed Claire I could feel her heated gaze on me before she walked over to us and shoved Lia into a locker and took my hand. I quietly growled but it was threatening enough for her to back off. I took Lias hand again and proceeded walking. When we made it to our first cla.s.s Lia and I sat next to each other, our chairs super close and the teacher did the attendance and all that and when the door swung open, one of the other new kids from my alpha camp came in. The male paused at the door and he was staring at my mate while she was paying attention to the front of the cla.s.s. He licked his lips and his eyes started wondering her body. A low growl escaped from me and Lia dropped her pencil and took my hand, calming me down. She didn't know the reason I was growling though until the teacher had finally addressed the late student. When she caught his eyes they both just stared at each other but only it wasn't a mutual stare down, he looked like he wanted to devour her but Lias eyes were filled with a cross of fear and anger.

'Do you know him?' I mind linked her.

'Yes.... He and I used to date...' She said and my blood was boiling as I wrapped an arm protectively around her and glared down at the man.

'He left for alpha camp when he and I were fifteen.' She said and her voice was quiet and she sounded upset.

"Joseph, you're twenty minutes late. Where is your office slip."

"In the trash." He said while walking over to our table and sitting next to Ophelia and tried to reach for her and she shuddered away and into me then looked over at the teacher.

"May I be excused for a moment please...." She said and the teacher nodded his head. She got out from her chair and left the cla.s.s, I could tell something was bothering her but I didn't know exactly what. I had a slight hunch for what it was though.

"Don't touch Ophelia. She's mine!" The man beside me growled. When I looked over at him I was glaring at him then I started laughing.

"Clyde would you like to tell the cla.s.s whats so funny?"

"No sir, just an accidental slip up." I said, trying to calm myself then the teacher let me be excused. I walked out of the cla.s.sroom and my face immediately went straight.

"Don't touch Ophelia. She's mine!" I muttered to myself, mocking what he said.

"She's my d.a.m.n mate, I'll touch her if I want.." I said, silently brooding. I walked down the hall a bit and saw Lia with her head against her locker.

"Baby, talk to me." I said, wrapping my arms around her waist as she leaned her head against my chest.

"He just.... Complicates things. When we found out on our fourteenth birthdays that we weren't mates, he went crazy and even he started to get abusive..." She paused for a second.

"I knew we weren't mates before he did. I didn't want to hurt him.." She said and she rotated her body so she was facing me and she buried ber face in my shirt. I had to take a few breaths to calm myself.

"Why didn't to defend yourself?" I said, taking her chin and tilted her head up to look at me.

"Because I was a fourteen year old girl who was to scared to! And between my uncle, it was just so overwhelming and-"

"Where are your hall pa.s.ses?" Claire said, completely cutting off Lia.

"I'll show you a d.a.m.n hall pa.s.s in a few seconds if you don't start targeting me." Lia said, breaking out of my arms and stopping right in front of Claire.

"I could get you suspended like that." Claire retaliated while snapping her fingers.

"Go ahead, at least I'd get to be away from you for a week."

"Maybe that's not such a good idea. I could steal your beloved Clyde from you if I really wanted to." Claire finished and I could feel the anger that had radiated off her and Aura was fighting to come out of her, and my wolf wanted to protect her. We sat in a tense and awkward environment for quite a while before Joseph walked out of the cla.s.sroom.

"Ohh baby, what's the matter? You still Claires stuffed animal?" He said and Lia turned around, her body tensed.

"You know what? You and Claire would be perfect for each other! You both have at least one think in common."

"What would that be?"

"You both p.i.s.s me off." She said and then walked off from the three of us.

"Ahh that's my mate." I said and heard Josephs growl.

"Oh shut it." I said before leaving them to follow Lia.
