He saw a familiar, tall, slim silhouette approaching him with a backpack carrying the helmet in her hand.
Virat broke into a smile on seeing his Maya.
"Hey love!" Virat called out with joy.
"Good morning Virat!" She walked upto to him.
Virat could now see that she was wearing the same leather jacket with jeans pants on. Anybody who would take a look at them could easily decipher that they were a couple.
She pulled out her water bottle from her backpack and took a few sips of water. "Virat! Don't yell at me later. I'm not late. See it's exactly half past four now." She showed her watch to him.
"Definitely not sweetheart! Let's get going!" Virat said lovingly.
They set off on their journey.
Since it was still the early hours of morning, it was dark and cold. Maya went forward and hugged Virat from behind when she couldn't take the cold winds.
It was the first time Maya had initiated to hug him even though it was from behind him.
Virat's back straightened. 'Chill Virat! Don't get carried away! You've to still remain a gentleman. It's just a hug! You don't have to let your thoughts go haywire.'
Maya felt warm now. She rested her head on Virat's shoulder and almost napped on.
Virat was feeling too good too. He let her rest on him and thought, 'I should plan for more of such rides.' He winked and had a mischievous smile on his face.
They reached there by around fifteen minutes past five.
Virat stopped at the foothills. But Maya had no idea about it. She had dozed off comfortably.
Virat removed his helmet and turned sideways to see Maya sleeping like a baby. She had totally forgotten that she was on a bike and they were driving. He waited for a couple more minutes and then very slowly called out her name, "Maya… we're here baby…"
Maya hugged him even more tightly and whispered back, "Five minutes Virat…"
Her voice so soft that it sounded so seductive in the dark, cold, silent morning. Virat began losing himself. But his head was shouting inside, 'Virat, if you can get a hold over yourself, you can get to wake up to this every single morning. Think about it!'
On one hand, Maya was hugging him so tight. On the other hadn't, he didn't have to do anything about it. But, there was also an added advantage. She was hugging him like a panda and that feeling was indescribable for him at the moment. So he just let her sleep for a minute longer.
"Maya, you've to get up else we'll miss the sunrise." Virat unwillingly tried to wake her up.
Maya finally fluttered open her eyelids and pouted with puppy eyes. She unwillingly got down.
Virat then parked his bike and pulled her up the mountain. In order to spike her interest he said, "Maya if you climb faster than me, you win and I'll come to watch your Tom Cruise movie." He said with a twisted face.
"Really?" Maya's eyes lit up in the darkness like stars. After all, Tom Cruise was her favourite actor. Her sleep was all gone!.
"Yes!" He pinched her cheek.
"But then if you lose, you'll have to come on another adventure outing with me." Virat added.
"That's doable! Deal! Mission Sunrise begins in 3...2...1...Beginnn!" She began climbing up even before Virat was ready.
"Hey Maya wait! I ain't ready yet!" Virat shouted.
Since she was in no mood to stop or look back, he shouted again, "Okay, you get a 1 minute head-start…" But then he was rejoicing inwardly since he successfully spiked up her interest to climb. He didn't mind watching a movie with her anyway.
The mountain had a comparatively easier terrain to scale. Since it was still early in the morning, they didn't feel too tired either. Without a doubt, Maya reached the summit before Virat.
She dropped her backpack to the ground and lay flatly waiting for Virat to catch up.
Virat came in and scooped her up in his arms...
Maya was jolted awake. Her breathing quickened. Beads of perspiration formed on her head.
