“Oh, Suria-chan. It’s been a while.”

“Wait, Suu! Why did Reiss-san went home? Did something happen, explain it!”

A calm voice and terrible shriek both pa.s.sed through my ears. It seems that there is no sign of Reiss coming back so to tell them what happened, I both let them inside.

After saying “I apologize for suddenly barging in”, sitting across the table and shrugging his masculine shoulders, is Allan Glavice. This person, Uncle Allan is a long time friend of my father as well as Reiss’ foster parent, is described as a kind man who always have a smile on his face with beard.

Since the time my relationship with Reiss was cut off, it became a given that the time I of seeing uncle also lessened, and it’s really been a while since I’ve seen his face.

“The reason was… Well, it’s about Reiss. Just a while ago he came by to greet me. As a Knight Escort of the Spirit Princess.”

“Ah, I want to meet Reiss again! No, I’m looking forward to see his face again. Like how much he have grown in….. Well, before that, I forgot to congratulate you for being chosen as the Spirit Princes. Congratulations, Suria-chan!”

I wryly smiled at Uncle Allan who was congratulating me. I don’t know why was I chosen and honestly speaking, I don’t know what to feel. Dear father and dear mother are in a festive mood since they’re so glad but as the person myself, I don’t feel that good about this events.

“Th, That’s right! First of all, we must not call Sue, Spirit Princess right!?”

The lady with a beautiful brownish-red hair was clapping on the right side of Uncle Allan. Her big eyes are br.i.m.m.i.n.g with wilfulness, and her slender feminine figure without a glint of useless muscles, her elegance and her high quality clothing indicates that she has been raised from a good household.

This lady is Rinse Lotterea. A daughter of a well-known merchant, and my bestfriend. What confused me is that on Reiss birthday, he was the girl who asked "I wonder if Reiss is the lover of the daughter from the Valette household?" .

This girl was there after I hit Reiss and ran off crying. And after my tears were drained dry, from the fence of the house garden, she showed up yelling “Found you!“, which caused me to be surprised.

She was holding the unwrapped ribbon of the garment I was suppose to give as a present and from the fence she pushed it hard towards my chest saying….

“Wipe off that tears away! I thought of Reiss-san as a good husband candidate but, a man who talks like that to a woman is no good! He’s stupid man! You too, don’t mind his mindless comments and find another man immediately. Don’t waste shedding your tears!”

“A woman’s tears has a price!”, as if she was the one who got hurt she screamed, those memories for me are good. She even went to search for me who was endlessly crying and stayed with me until the sunset. She’s stubborn but she’s thoughtful in many ways.

However, we mysteriously got along together. Somehow, even though the circ.u.mstances were awkward, right now, we get along well and became best friends, you really don’t know what will happen in our lives.

I explained to them the details on for some unknown reason, I was chosen as the Spirit Princess and Reiss that became the Knight Escort that’ll accompany me.

“I don’t possess spiritual mana, so I don’t know much about the details regarding spirits. But, being chosen as the Spirit Princess! As expected of my best friend! But the knight who’s going to protect you is Reiss…. Are you going to be alright? I also heard bad rumors from the people of the capital.”

“Rumors?”

“Yes, from my brother who went on a business trip with father, there were cases of spirit users that went missing in the capital. I really don’t know the details, but the people who were investigating the series of events had also gone missing. They say that the unnatural events are cases of kidnappings. If that’s so, that Spirit Princess might be targeted…..”

“Such things….. But, there’s no need to worry, it’s going to be alright.”

I don’t know who’s decision is it that has chosen me to be the Spirit Princess, but until the ceremony concludes, the high officials of the church and the people involved will have to deal with the events. I’ll take this task from the capital and until it’s officially announced, I’ll have to attend the audience with the Spirit Queen safely.

Since I’m the Spirit Princess, I hope I won’t be targeted in this kidnapping cases.

“Even so, you’ll never know when will get involve in an accident. For a girl from the country side, the capital is such a dangerous place!”

“C, Country girl….”

“That’s the reason Reiss is also there. I came here after knowing Reiss is coming, I came because I’m worried about Suria-chan.”

Uncle Allan acted as a parent for Reiss in place of his actual parents, it seemed that he just briefly showed his face to uncle to greet him and told him a little about the details about his coming. And then came to me to spun those sharp words unto me.

As for Rinse, she happen to see Riess coming to my house and when she came, she happen to came across Uncle Allan so they came here together.

“Well then, how was Reiss?”

“How was he……”

“It’s been a while since he met Suria-chan so what kind of att.i.tude did he showed you…”

I wonder if I should tell Uncle Allan what was his att.i.tude towards me, and he might feel bad about it. But brooding over it for a long time is not good.

“Reiss told me “It’s not by my will that I became your Knight Escort“, “I don’t want to have anything to do with you more that what’s intended” and “You’re a disappointment as a Spirit Princess“, something like those. The first thing he told me was “You’re as really lacking elegance as always“. ”

I remembereed what that person have told me, and when I said to them, “His att.i.tude towards me is the worst”, Uncle Allan rubbed his temple and then held his head down. And as if showing his emotion he said the words “He’s really done it”.

While Rinse scratch her hair madly and pulling it saying “What’s with that! Saying such rude words!”.

“Seriously, why was that guy showing such kind of behaviour at Suria-chan…… Up until now, I still don’t know. I’m sorry, Suria-chan…”

“Uncle Allan did nothing wrong, there is no need to apologize. After all, I’ll be with him only until my task as the Spirit Princess in the ceremony is over. After it ends, we won’t be seeing each other again.”

I then kept my lips shut, I felt a slight pain in my chest, but I hid those painful thoughts behind and said so bitterly. Uncle Allan’s usual gentle looking face distorted and turned into a bitter expression.

……. Don’t make such a face, Uncle Allan.

“But, on the way back, Reiss,  that guy……. It’s nothing, sorry.”

Somehow he said something but Uncle Allan swallowed those words back. I was a little worried about what he was about to say, but I don’t feel like forcing it, and then I noticed that I haven’t served them tea yet so I stood up and headed to the kitchen.
