After a few more minutes, his whole body was covered in a black shroud and a dark purple color was radiating from his fur. With his eyes closed, Zaro focused everything he had on the pill so that he could properly consume it all and not lose out on the effects.
With his eyes closed, he suddenly saw the demon that he was warned about, it was a woman with pale white skin, black lips and eyes so intimidating it would make any man crumble. However, when she approached Zaro, he got a sudden feeling of danger and immediately his back arched and his fangs were revealed while he snarled aggressively at the demon.
Although her haunting expression didn't change, one could still notice her sudden jolt when Zaro's att.i.tude changed and he went on the offensive. She approached him even closer but Zaro knew exactly what she wanted... a host, something that could allow her to live once again and he wasn't going to let her.
"This preposterous behavior... know your place you rabid beast!" she yelled out as a terrifying scream echoed from all the sides around her. This one thing had also caused Zaro to stutter and the both of them eyed each other, neither one wanted to give in to the other.
It didn't matter, he knew that if he was to show even the slightest bit of an opening he would be doomed but he also knew that no matter what she did, she was not able to fight back whatsoever. Due to this, Zaro stood his ground and just watched her almost laughing at her poor attempt to make him surrender.
Once the demon realized she was getting mocked, her expression changed into a disgusted one and she closed her eyes allowing Zaro to consume the rest of the pill without trouble. The darkness pill had been fully consumed but now he had to face the worst part of the consumption... adaptation.
It was one thing swallowing the pill but a completely other thing having to try and let his body adapt to the changes in his body. His core firstly was extremely hot and he could feel a terrible burning sensation inside his chest while his blood was flooded with a foreign substance which was causing his blood to literally boil.
However, it wasn't like Zaro hadn't done this before and he sucked back the tears and powered through the pain.
"It hurts like h.e.l.l, but it won't make a difference if I cry out or curl up in pain... it will be the same! I need to get through this and once it's done, my own body will be scared to hurt me!" Zaro roared out as the pain throbbed in his whole body.
Time had pa.s.sed, a few hours at least and Zaro was currently laying on the ground breathing heavily, relieved that the consumption was over. When he opened his eyes even a small bit, his now eyes were giving off a dark purple glow. The rest of his body was going through something similar but they had become even better than before!
His core, on the other hand, was different, it felt a bit more solid meaning that he should be going through the awakening in the near future! This was the best news he had received in the past few months and honestly, it was the main thing keeping him going.
Looking up at the limitless sky, Zaro had decided what his next plan was to discover more pillars of creation because of the rewards he got from the race he woke up. On the way, he could even continue becoming stronger but instead of hunting weak creatures, it was time to fight monsters at his own level. Beings which challenged him to become better and all he had to do was head to the most dangerous parts that he could find.
His nonchalant att.i.tude had returned and it felt right, in this world the strong only survived, he was quite ferocious as is but he still had to prove it through battle.
Looking at where he was now, the best option was to go opposite where he initially was... towards the Kalimar Continent which Draaklar had listed as one of the most dangerous. The coastline facing that continent was bound to have creatures which were similar to those on that continent.
As he moved off of the ground while running, his body was turning into a cloud of smoke and he was moving twice as fast as before and one could mistake him for a meteor on land! His body merged with the darkness gave him the ability [Condensation] which transformed his physical body into a smoke cloud that had sparks of purple lightning the faster he moved.
Because of this, he was moving at such a rapid pace where unless you had extremely good eyesight you would not be able to see his blurred body as he ran onward. As he moved he noticed something off in the distance... something different with cries of battle and a strong smell of blood that caused him to drool a little bit.
"Cores..." he grinned with his heart racing because of the adrenaline, he shot forward like a bullet that was about to blow some one's brains out. He was incredibly prepared to ma.s.sacre the several creatures, he was comparable to a nuke that was about to cause the extinction of an entire race.
The closer he got, however, the more confused he became and then with a whisper so subtle and quick that one couldn't really hear, "Lidya?" he muttered softly. If everyone was transported from that dimension... it could only make sense but was she reunited with her race?
