Zhang Wei sighed and then looked at Yue, sending her a message just through eye contact as she ran off through a secret pa.s.sageway.

"w.a.n.g Wei, we're going to have to take Little Fourth's child with us back to Suo." Zhang Wei said, making w.a.n.g Wei look at him with wide eyes.

"Why? Couldn't she stay with her child?" w.a.n.g Wei asked, Zhang Wei shook his head, "Did you not hear what that maid had said earlier? They're going to take her child into the palace. I'm not letting them take our nephew or niece, our little sister's child, into that place."

Staring at Zhang Wei, the younger brother nodded and then exclaimed loudly as he hit himself in the face, "Aiya! Yun Long is detained in the palace! He can't be here!"

"That's the least of our worries right now. Right now, we focus on our sister who is giving birth a month early."

Zhang Wei went over to the physician that had came and explained what had happened before staying outside and waiting for any sort of news.

Pacing outside of the room, w.a.n.g Wei sat on the steps with fear on his face while Zhang Wei was concerned. It wasn't his first time witnessing someone giving birth but this was his little sister, his sister whom was always such a stubborn child, his sister that was shameless and child-like.

Hearing the screams from inside made him want to hit the servant girl that had pushed his sister into giving birth early but he knew that if he did that, he wouldn't get any sort of information out of her nor would anything good come out of killing a servant girl.

Mei'er ran over in blue robes, having quickly thrown them on as she looked at the two brothers. "Is she okay? Yue Qi came back quickly when Yun Long had been detained."

Behind her was Yue Qi, whom was running and his eyes widened in horror at the sounds coming from inside the room. "Is Madam..g-giving birth?"

"She is, quickly, go back and find a way to forward a message to Yun Long without notifying anyone else." Zhang Wei said, sending the young boy off to inform the General.

Inside, Xiao Jun gripped the ropes dangling above her and sweat covered her forehead as the midwife ma.s.saged her stomach, feeling for the position of the child. The midwife felt that it was strange that she had such a huge stomach for being pregnant but she just a.s.sumed that Xiao Jun was having a chubby child, but that didn't make her fear go away, it made it worse.

The time was late, the moon high up in the sky during midnight.

By early in the morning, just two hours past midnight, Xiao Jun was pulling on the ropes hard as Mei'er stood outside, unable to go in as she was still a child and the two brothers outside didn't want her to be traumatized by the birthing process inside.

Yue ran over with a child wrapped in the blanket, the little baby being born not even three days ago.

"I found her not too far from here, abandoned on the river on the outskirts of town." Yue said, Zhang Wei nodded and told her to quickly bring her inside.

Yue walked inside and standing beside Xiao Jun, gave her one look and nodded before the midwife caught on and promised to keep her mouth shut.

Setting the child in a crib after washing her up, Yue had no choice but to make the child cry as the maid from earlier wasn't too far and she laughed as she heard the child's cry.

The maid wasn't there just to induce labor, she was there to take the child back as well.

Zhang Wei and w.a.n.g Wei looked at the doors of the room when they heard the girl cry but knew it wasn't Xiao Jun's actual child.

Quickly leaving, Zhang Wei let the maid out and glared at her before having Yue hand her the little girl. Yue, playing along, acted reluctant in giving the child and the maid just smirked and pulled the child away, quickly leaving without suspecting anything.

Back in the palace, Yue Qi had made it in secretly and slipped inside the room that Yun Long was in. Walking over behind him, Yue Qi was almost kicked but dodged.

"General! It's me! Yue Qi!" he whispered/yelled, earning a confused look from the other letter.

"What are you doing here? I thought I told you to go back and protect the manor." Yun Long said.

"Something has happened in the manor. Madam Feng's brothers were over... and when I went to report to Madam, they were in front of her room. Madam Feng...she..she was..." he cut off as he fidgeted.

Yun Long stood up and looked at Yue Qi, "She what? What is wrong with my wife?"

Yue Qi looked up and then said, "Madam Feng has gone into labor early.. I don't know the details but the looks on their face weren't good and I heard something about a maid taking your child into the palace."

Feeling like a heavy weight had fallen onto his chest, Yun Long backed up and fell back into his seat. He couldn't lose his child nor his wife.

It wasn't too long after that Yun Long was allowed to leave, being directed out by a eunuch to his horse. Getting on his horse, Yun Long quickly made his way back to the manor.

Xiao Jun on the other hand was helped up and taken into a secret room as the manor had been surrounded by soldiers as soon as the maid had left with the child. She gripped the arm of Yue and Zhang Wei as she was taken underground, her forehead soaked with sweat.

Outside, there were the sounds of arrows, the whirs above them as they also heard explosions. How threatened had the Crown Prince been to even try to kill them?

Biting her sleeve, Xiao Jun let out a silent scream as she suddenly felt a pressure in her lower region. The midwife came over and shooed Zhang Wei and w.a.n.g Wei into a corner as another maid came over to hold Xiao Jun up.

"Since there is no bed here, Madam Feng will have to give birth whilst standing!" she exclaimed, Zhang Wei looked around and found a piece of wood that was chained up by two chains so it dangled in the air. He took his robe off and made w.a.n.g Wei took his off so he could wrap it around the wood for Xiao Jun to grip.

Being directed to the makeshift bar, Xiao Jun put her arms over it and the two brothers turned away as there was no divider. It was already improper that there were men in the same room while a woman gave birth.

Xiao Jun bit the fabric of the robe while she pushed, her heart racing as she let out a m.u.f.fled scream in pain.

"Use more strength! You're almost there!" the midwife said, she sent a maid to fetch water and to heat it up somehow.

Zhang Wei and w.a.n.g Wei had gone into a separate room with the maid and together, they made a fire and heated up the water that the maid had found. Surprisingly, there was clean water down in the secret room.

Before they could bring the water over, they heard a loud yell and then the cry of a baby. The midwife exclaimed happily that it was a boy but before Xiao Jun could be happy, she felt that there was another.

Her face contorted in pain and the midwife's eyes widened. "There is another! Quick! Bring the water over!" The midwife handed the baby to a maid on standby and then examined Xiao Jun to see that there was another baby close behind.

Already on the brink of pa.s.sing out, Xiao Jun pushed as Yue held her up and Mei'er stood to the side, frightened, but she kept it together and helped the maid clean the boy.

Outside, Yun Long made it in time to see soldiers just leaving and he jumped off his horse, running into his manor that was now in flames.

"My...my wife..my child...Xiao Jun! Xiao Jun!" Yun Long frantically yelled, his parents' manor had been hit with the arrows as well but they had been not as fortunate.

Looking through the debris of the burnt down manor, Yun Long picked up pieces of fabric from Xiao Jun's dress, easily recognizing the dress that she had worn that exact morning.

Tears clouded his eyes as he kneeled, letting out a yell as he cried.

Yue Qi stumbled as he walked, "Mei'er...where is Mei'er?" Running over here and there, Yue Qi then saw the underground room door that they had installed. "G-General! Over here!"

Yun Long, getting up, ran over and stared at the door that had been damaged a bit.

Was his wife down there possibly?
