Chapter 534: St.i.tches
Translator: Tuiwen Editor: Tuiwen
Hearing the silence from the other end of the line, Cheng Yan sighed. “Forget it, I’ll just stay here alone,” he stated. “It’s fine if the wound reopens. It will scab again anyway.”
“I’ll go over now. Don’t move.”
As soon as Yao Tang said this, she immediately informed the people in her call to sort out the problems themselves. Once she had cleared everything out, she headed downstairs.
There, she saw Yao Yan standing by the counter.
He had been so relieved to find her safe and sound. However, when he saw that she wasn’t in her pajamas, he furrowed his eyebrows.
!!“It’s so late,” he said. “Where are you going?”
“The person who had saved me sustained a wound. I need to go over and help him,” she replied softly.
She also needed to go there to find out what was going on. Why wasn’t his wound healing as easily as she had thought it’d be?
Yao Yan hesitated. At first, he didn’t want her to head out this late at night, but after confirming that she was indeed telling the truth, he finally nodded.
“Fine, but you have to be careful, okay? I’ll wait for you.”
“I will.”
Yao Tang hurried in the direction of Cheng Yan’s house. Luckily, their houses weren’t that far apart from each other.
As soon as she entered his home, she couldn’t help but notice its emptiness. It was as if there had been no movement inside the home ever since she had left. The doctor should’ve been here by now.
She pursed her lips and went up to his bedroom.
There, she could see Cheng Yan sprawled on his bed. He didn’t look like he had moved, but when she glanced to the side, she saw that the window was wide open.
Wasn’t the window closed when she had left?
Yao Tang didn’t really think about it any further, staring at Cheng Yan’s back. Just as he had stated, his wound had reopened.
This time, his wounds appeared to be more serious than the last time.
“When I had left, you moved around again?” She narrowed her eyes.
She already knew the answer in her heart.
Cheng Yan, however, appeared indifferent to her tone. He didn’t feel embarra.s.sed at all as he shrugged. “I felt a bit stuffy so I opened the window,” he said casually. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Glancing at the window, he added, “I didn’t expect that after walking a few steps, my wounds would reopen.”
Yao Tang pursed her lips.
The wounds he had sustained weren’t deep injuries. In fact, they weren’t even that serious.
After applying the medicine powder, his wounds shouldn’t have reopened. Yet, it had reopened twice just by minimal movements.
How was this possible?
Yao Tang’s eyes flashed. “Since your wound has been reopening, there’s nothing else I can do. I guess I just have to st.i.tch you up.”
She added, “I’ll be using an absorbable thread, so I wouldn’t have to remove it after it’s healed. Your cuts definitely won’t reopen after that. What do you think?”
Her voice was indifferent as her gaze fell on his back.
She really was considering this matter.
Cheng Yan immediately replied, “There’s no need. You can just sprinkle some medicine powder again. I’m sure, it’s fine.”
“I’ve already applied a lot of powder. It wouldn’t have any effect if I just continued applying more. Why don’t we just st.i.tch it up?”
Her gaze swept over his back thoughtfully.
Just then, another thought occurred to her. “Or we can try another technique!”
“What?”
Cheng Yan leaned in with great interest.
A few minutes later, Cheng Yan’s body was found sprawled on top of the bed. His back was exposed, but he couldn’t move. His eyes were narrowed with obvious bitterness.
Yao Tang stood on the other side of the bed, heaving a sigh of relief. “Now, you don’t have to worry about your wounds reopening,” she said proudly. “By the time you can actually move, the wound would’ve already started to scab.”
Without another word, she walked out of the room.
