Indeed, it's one of those relationships that anyone who wants to succeed in all ramifications of life, must seek to have. Suffice it to say that this is one of the reasons football clubs, be it in the premiership, or in the local league, pay their coaches well; so they could bring out the best in the players.

Before I forget, I must let you know that your mentor or coach is not your friend. He is just what you called him; Mentor, period. He can sometimes advise or instruct you to do something(s) that seemingly sounds illogical (this is common in most mentor-protégé relationships).

Obey the advice, and you will definitely reap the benefits as you go along the way; disobey them because you couldn't rationalise the thoughts, and be ready to face the 'music', which only you will dance to.
