Chapter 1458: Chi Li

As Li Luo watched the movements on the ancient colleges’ light monument, squads continued to jump up and down, showing how fierce the compet.i.tion was. Meanwhile, Jiang Qing'e's squad with her four victories and no losses remained at thirteenth place. At the same time, there were several squads who were lined up in a similar position.

At the top of the light monument were four squads that consistently remained there. All of them had an impressive record of seven wins and zero losses. One of them was the one led by Sheng Qiao'er.

The other three were naturally the ancient colleges’ Four Knights.

As eighth-grade Dukes, their advantage was overwhelming.

Furthermore, Li Luo recognized a familiar name in eleventh place.

Li Luo then turned to look at Chi Chan and noticed that her gaze was similarly focused on the ancient colleges’ light monument. The difference was that her gaze was filled with fear and disgust.

When she noticed Li Luo looking at her, she gave a forced smile. Seeing the usually cold and placid Chi Chan reveal weakness made Li Luo want to comfort her. "Mentor, you can be a.s.sured that so long as you don't wish for it, no one will be able to take you away."

When she saw Li Luo's resolute but warm gaze, her cherry-red lips pursed slightly and a warm current flowed through her heart. "Thank you," she said with a nod.

Li Luo smiled before changing the topic. "The four ancient colleges have truly shown the depths of their foundations."

Anyone of the top twenty squads would probably be able to dominate an entire outer divine continent, while Li Luo’s squad had to struggle with great difficulty to reach the top ten ranks there. It was no wonder the Celestial Mirror PaG.o.da differentiated the ancient colleges from the sage colleges. If they were to mingle together, perhaps all of the six outer divine continents’ squads added together would not be able to overcome a single ancient college squad. Li Luo's gaze then turned away from the four ancient colleges and then towards the inner divine continents’ sage colleges. The compet.i.tion there did not seem to lack in ferocity when compared to the former. Other than the fact that they lacked the four squads with eighth-grade Dukes, they were almost comparable.

There were numerous squads led by upper seventh-grade Dukes.

This sort of strength was capable of standing within the upper ranks of the ancient colleges.

However, this was nothing outside of the norm. The inner divine continent sage colleges had much more resources and thus had produced some extremely talented Dukes with the funnelling of resources. In addition, the sheer amount of resources was incomparable to that in the outer divine continents.

His gaze then turned towards an inner divine continent's sage college light monument, and his gaze rested on the third-ranked name.

The young mistress from Golden Dragon Mountain's Lu family couldn't be underestimated. Although she was not partic.i.p.ating under an ancient college, the Holymist Sage College was still considered to be at the top amongst the sage colleges of the inner divine continents and had a deep foundation. It was said that Golden Dragon Mountain was the one who supported them as well. The Academic Federation didn't mind that at all. After all, they had to watch over many colleges, and although the latter's actions could allow them to gain some influence amongst the sage colleges, it also helped relieve the pressure on the amount of resources the Academic Federation had to dole out.

Thus, so long as their actions didn’t cross the line, the Academic Federation would close an eye.

Li Luo sighed heavily in his heart. Because of Chi Chan and Lu Qing'er, he was bound to become enemies with both Chi Li and Lu Ruyan. If they were to encounter each other later, there would inevitably be conflict. Fortunately, one was with the ancient colleges and the other was with the inner divine continents’ sage colleges. Thus, they would not encounter each other just yet.

However, this situation wouldn't last because once the Domain Traversal Battles ended, they would meet each other at some point.

Lu Qing'er calmly piped up, interrupting Li Luo's thoughts. "There are three top-tier squads from the inner divine continents looking to ambush her. There's no need to worry about her causing us trouble." Her voice flowed like a cool spring on a snowy mountain, clear and refreshing.

Li Luo looked at her in surprise. "Are those people here to protect you?"

"You can say that," Lu Qing'er replied without going into details.

"With so many more better options, you still chose to join the Astral Sage College. It looks like this place really is your true love."

Lu Qing'er gave him an icy look and then emotionlessly turned away. Meanwhile, the snubbed Li Luo could only helplessly shrug.

Chi Chan couldn't help but to sneakily smile. "Don't you know why she chose to partic.i.p.ate with the Astral Sage College?"

Li Luo sighed.

As their group rested, time gradually pa.s.sed and the six outer divine continents concluded their first bout. The winners and losers were separated.

The Thunderflame Divine Continent, the East Divine Continent, and the Endless Gale Divine Continent were in the winners bracket.

Meanwhile, the Azuresea Divine Continent, the Whitespirit Divine Continent, and the Extreme Night Divine Continent were in the losers bracket.

This result shocked the Whitespirit Divine Continent and the Extreme Night Divine Continent’s squads. In previous years, the East Divine Continent had joined them in the losers bracket, but somehow they had triumphed this time around? Their expressions were full of complex emotions and it felt a little unbearable. Was there anything more deplorable than having a brother who had agreed to rough it but abandoned them upon striking it rich? How were they supposed to go back and explain themselves to their princ.i.p.als after seeing the East Divine Continent work so hard!? ŗâ₦öＢĚ?

As they wallowed in their depression, the ancient colleges and the inner divine continent sage colleges were about to conclude their first rounds. The squads then left the minor worlds.

When Jiang Qing'e came out, she immediately looked at the East Divine Continent's platform, clearly concerned with Li Luo's performance.

Seeing that they had overcome the Azuresea Divine Continent to enter the winners bracket caused a hint of a smile to appear on her beautiful face.

It's a brat called Li Luo, from the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent's Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li. His background is great, and perhaps it's because of him that Chi Chan dared to enter the Celestial Mirror PaG.o.da."

"Heavenly Origin Divine Continent, Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li." Chi Li frowned. This was truly surprising. Chi Chan had chosen to hide in an outer divine continent, so how had she managed to get connected with a Heavenly Emperor power from the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent?

The Chi family had no influence before such a power. The bright side was that the Bloodline of Heavenly Emperor Li was a Heavenly Emperor power on the Heavenly Origin Divine Continent. If it were someone from the Mythical Spirit Divine Continent, he would have to act in a more reserved fashion. Chi Li's gaze flitted between coldness and savagery, his unstable emotions causing him to feel even more infuriated towards Chi Chan. If that b.i.t.c.h had not escaped before, his secret art would not have remained incomplete and he wouldn't be like this. She was supposed to be the cultivation cauldron that had been prepared for him over many years! In the end, she had escaped!
