The Kings 9 New Image

I felt rather tiny standing in front of a tall gla.s.s skysc.r.a.per debating if I should go in or abandon ship. Below the stairsteps up to the main doors was a stone engraved in gold lettering, Mu Corporate. Slowly, I dragged my feet into the building. If I went any slower, I'd be late for work. It'll be alright as long as I do not go to the top floor, trying to rea.s.sure myself nothing will go wrong. There should be no reasons whatsoever for a small designer like me to be up there.

I had applied to be a fashion designer at 'New Image,' a fashion brand that was gaining popularity rapidly. New Image was just introduced to the country Z a year ago. It was already popular overseas so now it was trying to make a name for itself here.

So why is a fashion designer like me here at Mu Corporate? Well, they needed some a.s.sistant here apparently. Also, as an unknown fashion designer like me, I will have to do many odd jobs to get a foot into the industry.

New Image and Mu Corporate are collaborating together to work on an ads campaign. Mu Corporate had hired a well-known actress to be their spokesperson for their newly created perfume, Wings. She will wear New Image's clothing and jewelry while filming the advertis.e.m.e.nt. This will be a ma.s.sive leap into introducing New Image to Country Z. It'll also be a win-win for Mu Corporate for using a fashion brand becoming popular and launching their new perfume product.

"h.e.l.lo, how can I help you?" The receptionist lady asked when I walked up to the front desk in the main lobby.

"Do you know where the filming for the new perfume brand Wings will be at?" I asked, showing the receptionist my badge that I was an employee at New Image.

"It will be on the fifth floor. You can take that elevator right there, and it'll take you there." The receptionist politely replied back and pointed to the nearest elevator.

I thanked the receptionist before going on my merry way. It was kind of her to show me where the nearest elevator was. Although, I knew this place like the back of my hand.

The receptionist lady proceeded to stare at Yun Anong as she got into the elevator. It took her by surprise how captivating Yun Anong looked even with casual clothing. She would have mistaken Yun Anong for the new spokesperson if she did not show her badge that she was an employee at New Image.

At the same time, Mu Yi's personal elevator opened up in time to see the opposite elevator in the distance closing. He narrowed his eyes when he caught a glimpse of a woman in a white t-shirt inside. He would recognize that small face, dark straight eyebrows, and those bright eyes anywhere.

"Go ask why that woman in the white t-shirt is here." Mu Yi orders his a.s.sistant Chu Heng.

Chu Heng walked up to the receptionist inquiring who was the lady in the white t-shirt.

"Her name is Yun Anong, and she is an employee from New Image." The receptionist blushed when she saw Mu Yi. She was looking up and down from her desk acting all coy. In hoping Mu Yi will finally notice her.

The corner of Mu Yi's lip lifted up for a half smile, almost freezing Chu Heng on the spot when he saw this. He actually rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. 'My boss knows how to smile?'

When I arrived on the fifth floor, it was already in chaos. The atmosphere was tensed. The crews were grumbling under their breath cursing the actress left and right. Apparently, the actress had too many demands for Mu employees and New Image employees. Especially when she was making too many mistakes in one scene. They have been taking the same scene over and over for the last hour.

"Cut!" The director heavily sighed in frustration. "Let's take a thirty-minute break."

Two of the employees from Mu's company were gossiping next to me. They were getting extremely frustrated, so they were venting to each other.

"Who does she think she is? Just a mediocre actress who got the part because she slept with someone from the higher up!"

"Shhh! Rumors are flying around that she is Mu Yi's woman. Come on, with her lousy acting, it's impossible for her to get the part."

So this awful actress who can't even get one simple scene right is Mu Yi's woman? I looked on with curiosity. The actress was beautiful, Shu Meiying. I admit, but beauty does not complete a scene.

"Ah! There you are," my supervisor Yin Bo came running over fuming. She instantly shoved a mineral water bottle into my hands. "Take this over to the demanding queen over there."

I didn't rebuke her rude behavior. I could tell all of them were already on the verge of tearing this actress apart. Even my supervisor Yin Bo who was overseeing the shoot from New Image side was doing her bidding. I was probably the only person left who hadn't dealt with her, yet.
