My disciple did not let down my expectations.

He truly let his name reverberate through heaven and earth. But he also committed a disgraceful offence, sinking into the way of the devil and having his name go down in history as a byword for infamy.

If I think about it now though, Qian Gu is actually the most reliable one amongst my three disciples.

He has a steady character, handles resolutely and practically. He also knows the way of hiding one's capabilities and biding one's time.

His only flaw is…………

Liking me.

This indeed makes one beat one's breast and stamp one's feet, it's a flaw that makes me hate to be unable to stab myself to death.

But actually, I am also to blame.

That year when I took Qian Gu back with me, I was already at the advanced age of eight hundred. Qian Gu, on the other hand, was only eight years old.

With the appearance of a twenty-year-old, I had already lived eight centuries and although I had an open mind, I failed to take into account Qian Gu's complicated maturing mentality.

He is very intelligent and at twenty-five managed to cultivate his immortal body. From then on, his appearance has never changed.

Afterwards he learned the art of transformation, but he never altered his apparent age one bit.

Always staying next to my side wearing that face which looks a bit older than mine, while in actuality being more than seven hundred ninety years younger than me.

But I did not mind, since I was very broadminded.

I lived at the summit of Kong Ling Mountain and generally, n.o.body ever came to disturb me. Amongst the sect members, naturally, also no one minded.

Only after the trouble happened did I realize; this fellow truly hid his thoughts very deeply.

If that day I hadn't drunk too much alcohol – dozing off next to the alcohol pond – and Qian Gu hadn't come up to kiss me, hadn't sentimentally whispered "Master" next to my ear over and over again…

I fear even now I wouldn't have realized his feelings.

Only afterwards did I become aware that on that day Qian Gu had been drugged by a fellow female sect member, who had admired him for a long time already.
He had hurried back to cleanse himself of the poison, only to find me lying drunkenly next to the alcohol pond.

Unable to keep to himself the affections he had harboured for ten years already, he came up to me and gave me a kiss.

At that time, I was dozing off, but still very aware of my surroundings and this peck completely wiped away the remaining alcohol in my body.
Fortunately, he didn't do anything else out of line and I, considering our master-disciple relationship, didn't expose him right then and there.

Instead, I continued to feign sleep.

In the end Qian Gu used his will power to suppress his emotional impulses and left.

Only then did I open my eyes, looked at the vast sky full of stars at the summit of Kong Ling Mountain, and reflected on myself.

I am actually a very traditional master, still not open-minded enough to accept a situation like this.
Following the sect rules, if something like this happened, I should abolish the disciple's cultivation and drive him out – thus punishing him for his disgraceful behaviour.

But Qian Gu is my only disciple, he is also a child that I have brought up on my own and protected for so many years.

If anyone happened to bully him, I would always appear and stand by his side. So how could I bear to abolish his cultivation.

After pondering for one night, I realized that I must have made mistakes during his education. Now these mistakes have already taken root and using force probably won't fix them.

I can only use other methods.

So I went into seclusion and reminded Qian Gu not to let anyone disturb me if there are no life-threatening problems.

Thus, I avoided him for five years.
