Chapter 54 – Let's Map!

◎Rock Hold Cave – The first tier/level

「Uuun, big catch, big catch.」

Kazane packs the formic acid into a metal bottle for collection. By the way, it is explained as formic acid for the sake of convenience, but it's something different than your usual methanoic acid (TL: Google-sensei provides – Formic acid, systemically named methanoic acid, is the simplest carboxylic acid.). It seems to be useful for ornament processing/manufacturing.

「Be careful about handling that. It causes sores when it touches the skin.」

「Roger.」

Kazane put the formic acid bottle in the item box according to Zinray's instructions.

「I wonder if more will come out in the future as well? (TL: hopeful tone implied)」

「No, it's unusual for 8 to be encountered in the lower tiers, perhaps it is an expansion period.」

「Expansion period?」

Yumika makes a puzzled face at Zinrays words.

「The expansion period is when the dungeon is about to start growing. The appearance/sp.a.w.n rate of monsters increases considerably.」

Louise answered that question, Zinray nods.

「If we return with no problems, it would be a good idea to report it to the guild. For a beginner party that encounter would have been pretty dangerous.」

「That's true ne.」

「During the expansion period it is also possible for many "Treasure Chests" to appear. Let’s be on the lookout.」

「Roger. Many emerging Treasure Ches….n?!」

Wait what did Kazane hear this person Zinray say?……A strange face was seen.

I/Kazane thought perhaps that was only in the game. If thinking ordinarily, an old person would store their treasure in a box, and then left it would be excavated naturally later becoming treasure.

A Fire Needle (that) was expanded (upon) to increase magical power and sharpness was thrown.

And, the chest with the core was blown away.

（This is quite good.）

Magical energy consumption is higher than needle but still less than half of Vortex, it is a sufficiently low cost magic. Usability is not bad either.

「Ou ~ Kazane~」

Mo, Tiara suddenly clung. The b.r.e.a.s.t.s pressed of course.

「Uwa, Tiara. What’s wrong?」

In order not to be crushed by the breast, the collapsed Tiara is supported.

『The consumption of magic exceeded the limit.』

Mefirs which is on the side answers. Also Mefirs is becoming slightly thin.

「The knight was summoned 4 times this time.」

Tiara shows the guild card.

（It is reasonable if the cla.s.s of enemies is at this level.）

It gradually gets harder to raise after level 15.(in this world) In general, the level rises when the ability of the body etc. rises,(however) Tiara seems to be rising with the experience points of defeating monsters like Kazane. The power of the monsters is being absorbed when the summons defeat the monsters, without this method of absorption it is not normally possible for Tiara. It was also possible to raise the status of Kazane, Yumika and Tiara by training（Yumika actually leveled up by training.）.

「Un, Tiara worked hard ne.」

Tiara smiled happily at Kazane's words of praise. Where is this girl going?(what are her intentions?) I am afraid of the future.

「Zinray-san, shall we stop here for the day and head up?」

「Yes. That’s right. I guess I have grasped the abilities of this groups members. The purpose should have been reached satisfactorily」

Yumika and Louise on the side nod to this.

「Well then shall we go home?」

「Is the way back safe? 」

「It is problematic/doubtful.」

Though Zinray had been mapping to paper from earlier, Kazane says "Command Open" and selects the the map display from the options. It is auto mapping. Furthermore, it is much like the standard navigation systems from Kazane's age (world). The technological improvement is frightened.

「Are?(this?)」

Looking at the map, Kazane tilts her head.

「What’s the matter?」

Kazane and Zinray pour over Zinray's map while talking to each other「Let me see nee」「Here and here…」「Fumu/Hmmm」「So it's like this…」「Well, that's possible…」

「What’s wrong?」

Yumika speaks to the two of them.

「Yumika the maps should be linked, please open yours.」

「Un?/Yes?」

It opened. There was a cat marker designated by Kazane, which was in the wall.

「Now here. There is something wrong with the arrangement of the paths, I guess it’s a hidden room.」

「Ahh I see!」

Yumika nods. Toward the back, Tiara, Louise and Mefirs were standing with a confused looking face.

As the manager/officer was talking, Kazane lined up three bottles of formic acid with a "Don don don"(sound fx or meaning 'rapidlyrapidlyrapidly', but in this context, it's sound effects)

「Wha?!」

The manager/officer raises a surprised voice.

「They are full~」

Kazane confirms it, the manager/officer opens a bottle and checks it.

「Ahh」

The face of the manager/officer became pale/light brown. The smell is ridiculous.

「For this amount, how much was hunted??」

「Eto/Well, about 30? It was around four of them that Tiara took down?」

Though it's the Flame Knights that did the work, but as a rule the number belongs to the summoner.

「Is that so? Hmmmm, I see.」

The manager makes a difficult face and groans, and apologizes for holding Tiara up the first time.

Afterward, Kazane said「It's a personality similar to Kimberly-san」and said「A respectable elder(Lit: a senior of admiration)」. Mefirs said「Fuun/Hmph」while turning his face away, Louise who was holding him in her embrace said「Maa, let's forgive it since we understand.」

After that, when Zinray reported the possibility of the expansion period, the manager told him they had also received several reports. This seemed to be the reason they had tried to stop Tiara. However the secret room was left unmentioned.

◎Rock Hold Cave Neighborhood – Golem Cottage

「Umm, is this okay?」

Tiara was given a crystal that was on a transparent square pen case from Kazane.

「Unn/Yeah. I also consulted with Louise-san, we decided Tiara should have it.」

Like the Crimson Saint Coffin/Casket of Kazane, an item called the Innocent Coffin which ranks/levels just under the Azure Sky Coffin, was found in the hidden room. A rare item that adds +50 to magical power.

「If this is sold, it's a fortune ne.」

「Though to buy it would cost three times as much, so it is better to give it to a person.」

「Well, I’m not in trouble with money.」

By the way, ranking next to/below Tiara who has no income is Kazane with her spending addiction.

「Thank you. Kazane, I will make this a family treasure」

「Ahh-Unn」

Kazane delicately returns a doubtful response. It's not that much… I/Kazane wanted to say that, but it's also rare to find/make an heirloom. Especially in a summoning family like Tiara's, where such an item is essential.

「Well, this time, it’s not going to be a different world/boundary, is it?」

Kazane asked Zinray what he was concerned about.

「There was a strange/different boundary/world, actually. The natural caves spread around/avoided it, so that people cannot get there.」

Naturally there is usually no hidden room or rare item.

「Oh, is that so nee.」

Certainly that cave was obviously artificial, but it (looked like it) should have been naturally formed.

「Ordinarily (only) when you reach the 3rd or 4th level/layer (does) it becomes obvious that it's a strange/different boundary/world. With Tiara using the crystal, she will have enough magic so we will reach it tomorrow.」

「I see. I’m looking forward to it.」

Kazane made a strange(TL: ニマニマ – Google it, G.o.d that's a weird expression) smile. Yumika thought 「It's the smiling face of a bad person」 and gazed back to the spear textbook, but Tiara did not mind and hugged (her).
