Chapter 1751: Visiting The Earth Vein
Faction Leader Bertram led Grey into the inner part of the Pyro Faction. Grey learned from him that Lord Dante instructed that Grey could come to take his reward immediately after he was done recuperating, and knowing Grey, Faction Leader Bertram knew he would want to take the treasure immediately.
Grey didn't have any issue with this and followed Faction Leader Bertram. After a few minutes of walking, the duo got to a cave carved out on the foot of one of the mountains. Entering the cave, Grey noticed that it wasn't too s.p.a.cious, only around fifty square meters. Lord Dante could be seen sitting cross-legged on top of a well-cut piece of stone. At first glance, the stone looked ordinary, but when Grey looked at it a little closer, he was shocked by the energy it contained.
He looked at the stone in shock, shaking his head wryly at the thought of these old masters' wealth.
Lord Dante opened his eyes to look at Grey, giving him a deep look. Seeing Lord Dante lookin his direction, Grey hurriedly bowed to the other party.
Lord Dante didn't speak much with him, just pa.s.sing two boxes over to him. Both boxes were made from special materials that he wasn't too familiar with. Taking the two boxes, he opened the first one and his eyes glowed brilliantly as he felt the shocking spatial fluctuations coming from the orb that was kept in the box.
He learned from Lord Dante after opening the box that this was a special orb that could only be formed in the void. It is extremely dangerous to acquire, and this is something that has been in the Faction for thousands of years. s.p.a.ce Elementalists were too rare, and finding one that's also a world-shaking genius is rarer. So even if the Faction has produced some s.p.a.ce element experts over the years, none of them were worthy of this treasure.
After hearing how long the s.p.a.ce orb has been in the Faction, Grey expressed his grat.i.tude to Lord Dante once again. The other box obviously contained a darkness elemental treasure. Although acquiring it was a bit difficult, it isn't as valuable as the s.p.a.ce orb.
Grey thanked Lord Dante earnestly, and before he left, he asked the other party if he could go into retreat in the earth vein. After all, he earned a spot there, and refining the treasures there will yield a faster result.
Lord Dante had no complaints and sent someone to lead Grey to the Earth vein. He was impressed with how eager Grey was to cultivate. He had speculated that Grey was eager to improve his strength due to his current predicament, but seeing him act in this manner confirmed his speculations.
'Should I keep him here?'
This was a thought that flashed through the head of Lord Dante, after all, Grey was a genius he believed could break through the shackles of this world. Once one person breaks the shackles, he believes that the rest will be freed. In thousands of years, Grey was the only one he had seen who had the potential to show even a hint of breaking that shackle, so he placed great value on him.
While Lord Dante was busy thinking about what to do with Grey's safety in the future, Grey was led to the earth vein by an Elder from the Pyro Faction.
Entering the earth vein, Grey was a bit taken aback, the quality of the essence here is shocking. This place is definitely among the top three places Grey has been to, with a high density of
essence.
"Since you got into the top five, you can use a place in the central area of the earth vein. Only those in the top five of this compet.i.tion, and the Elders at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane and above are allowed to use this area for cultivation." The Elder who led Grey into the earth vein explained with a hint of yearning that he was just a Ninth stage Sovereign, and although he was an Elder, his status wasn't enough to allow him to cultivate here, "Kid, your luck isn't bad."
When Grey got to the central area, he noticed that there was no one in the area; after inquiring from the Elder, he found out that this place would only be open two weeks after the compet.i.tion. Grey was only allowed early access due to Lord Dante favoring him.
Grey thanked Lord Dante in his heart as he didn't want to cultivate while others were present. Although there were chambers present in the earth vein that each person could use, Grey didn't know if there might be some commotion during his cultivation, so he didn't enjoy cultivating with others close to him. With the increase of his strength, he noticed that he caused more and more commotion whenever he was cultivating.
Randomly picking one of the chambers, Grey walked in and shut the stone door. He noticed some arrays engraved on the walls. Out of curiosity, he decided to inspect it. His eyes shone with brilliance as he inspected the arrays, occasionally nodding his head in approval or shaking his head in disapproval; there were even times a look of confusion would show on his face, only to eventually be exchanged by a pleased expression as if he had seemingly figured out what confused him.
Time flew by, and before Grey knew it, he had spent almost an entire day inspecting these arrays nonstop. During this time, he had almost accidentally set off an array that might've caused the stone chamber to explode. Recalling the dangerous aura he felt from the gathering energy at that time, Grey couldn't help but show a look of horror. Although he was confident that he could escape, he was certain that he would be seriously injured given the distance.
Under his intense scrutiny, Grey found out that there were arrays hidden under the visible arrays. This was after accidentally triggering that array, of course. Luckily he acted quickly, not drawing any attention to his side.
