Chapter 1578 Keep Dreaming, Princess
"Are you sure we got all of them?" Klaus asked after they left the G.o.d's tomb, appearing in the familiar Aurora Continent.
"Anyone I can't sense is either at the Peak of the Sovereign Plane, or around the same stage as my dad, I don't think I have to worry about that." Grey replied.
"And the vessels?"
"No Peak Sovereign will agree to become a vessel since that would mean they might die when the Gnomes come out. The higher the cultivation stage, the harder it is for the Gnomes to exit the body." Grey explained.
"If you noticed, you'd realize that the majority of the vessels are those from the First to the Fifth stage. The rest don't want to take that risk."
"Oh, I see, I always wondered why it was so."
With this out of the way, the group could head into the Gnome world without having to worry about the Necromancers left in the G.o.d's tomb, whatever the case, the humans there should be able to deal with it.
They headed towards the direction of one of the portals they found.
They had a few friends that didn't go into the G.o.d's tomb, but they didn't have the time to visit them. Most of them were in the Venerable Plane. Of all the people they were friends with, only one of them had gotten to the Sovereign Plane, Ellis.
Grey didn't have any plans of taking him with him since there was no point in doing so, the fewer they were, the easier it would be to escape.
Yes, most of the top experts in the Gnome world have left the place, but it doesn't mean there aren't a few present. They had to be very careful to ensure they were safe. Having the Seventh Prince behind them will make things easy for them, but it doesn't mean it will make it any less dangerous.
Grey has scanned all the portals around and he has picked the one he felt was best for them to use, and it was unexpectedly the one they saw the first time.
They soon went to the place and Grey was able to make use of one of the bunny leader's bunnies to get the information needed. There was a guard there, but the guard has been changed to a Peak Venerable.
Grey and his friends crossed through the portal before appearing on the other side of the portal.
They arrived in a dark room, just like the one they were standing before going through the portal.
They sneaked towards the exit, and the bunny that was sent out was used as a means of distraction before they entered the place. The Gnome wanted to speak, but he was instantly placed under Grey's control.
Grey didn't kill him, rather, left him alone. He was under his control, and he won't have any memory of what happened before he was placed under his control, so it was basically useless to kill him.
Grey sent the man out to scout the area before they followed behind. Before long, they arrived at the door leading outside the building. Apparently, there was no one else in the building.
When they opened the door, they were a little taken aback by the scene before them. Ahead of them was a large community, just like a town, and this place was like the Town Lord's manor.
"How come there's no one here?" Klaus couldn't help but ask.
Grey connected with the Seventh Prince and realized a meeting was called by the First Prince the moment the Emperor took the others and left for the G.o.d's tomb.
"His father isn't even dead and he's already taking charge."
Grey smirked when he saw this, he sensed the cultivation stage of the First Prince and frowned.
'Definitely the Late stages.'
If the First Prince was in the Late stages of the Sovereign Plane, then dealing with him would be very difficult. As for the other people present, Grey sensed three to four more people in the Late stages. Since he isn't there, he wasn't sure how many more Late stage Sovereigns would be present around the Palace.
Grey reported the scene to the others.
"We have free reign over this place at the moment, every single Sovereign is out." He explained.
"Haha, I'd like to see if there's anything I want." Klaus laughed and vanished, leaving a trail of snow.
"Don't alert anyone or our presence." Grey whispered.
"I'm not a fool."
Klaus' voice came from the void, but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Let's look around, this is our first time in the Gnome world. They should have things valuable to us." Grey said to the others and disappeared.
He too wanted to inspect this place. He doesn't have too much interest in what treasures were present here, all he wanted to see was how they lived.
Reynolds and Alice followed the duo's footsteps, going out in search of anything valuable.
When they stepped out, they saw some humans walking around freely. They could sense the excess darkness element in their bodies which came as a sign of them being Necromancers, not just that, but due to the fact that they weren't sealed in any way.
Most of the humans they are seeing around were either chained with special chains or sealed. Only these few were allowed to roam without restraint, and even though it was evident their status was lower than that of the Gnomes, it doesn't change the fact that they were having it easier than those who were sealed.
Alice didn't understand how a human would leave the Aurora Continent and willingly come to a world where they would constantly be looked down on. Even though they weren't turned into slaves, they were still being treated badly compared to when they were in the human world.
There were a few at the Peak of the Venerable Plane that can't even speak to any Peak Sage Plane Gnome due to the difference in status.
Alice and Reynolds looked down on these people and felt like killing them, but since they had to make sure they weren't noticed, they stayed hidden. Of course, it didn't mean they couldn't make these people suffer a little.
They both had the lightning element and decided to use it to make these people suffer a little.
Grey and Klaus had different thoughts entirely. They didn't have any plans for these people, in fact, they pretended like they couldn't see them while they did what they had planned.
Grey watched the place from the sky, studying everyone and how they interacted. He mostly studied these Necromancers. They were the ones who wanted to pretend to be, so he needed to make sure he understood how they acted.
While watching them, he saw a Necromancer scolding a Gnome.
"Huh?"
He was attracted over as he watched the event unfold. The Necromancer wore special clothing and he had an insignia crested on his clothes.
Grey found the insignia familiar and after glancing through his memory, he recalled where he saw this insignia, it belonged to the owner of the manor he came out from. This was a powerful Family, so any Necromancer a.s.sociated with them were fairly respected.
He soon understood Necromancers are not as looked down on as he thought. Since these guys could scold these people, it meant they had some status. He already thought of this, and being around the Seventh Prince would give him a good status, so he wanted to know what it would be like.
Now that he had confirmed his hypothesis, what was left was to head over to the Palace. There were multiple kingdoms in the Gnome world, all under the Emperor. This place was under one of the few kingdoms close to the place where the Emperor's Palace was located.
He went to the gates to wait for his friends. This place wasn't that large, so his friends were able to locate him in a short time.
"Once we get there, I'll have to keep you guys in my spatial ring, and only after being with the Seventh Prince can I bring you guys out. I'll look for a way to make it feasible to keep you guys out of the storage ring." Grey told them when they gathered.
"Understandable, as long as we get the chance to fight when the time comes, I'm good." Klaus said.
"What did you get?" Reynolds asked, raising a brow. The Klaus he knew would never agree to be kept in a spatial ring for such a long period of time, but he willingly agreed before anyone else could.
"Nothing."
"Then why are you smiling like a pig?"
"Have you ever seen a pig smile?"
"Well, I'm looking at one, that should count."
"I'll…"
"Let's go, we have other things to do." Grey stopped the duo from continuing their quarrel.
Klaus snorted, "You're lucky Grey spoke up for you."
"I'd have beaten the daylights out of you." Reynolds retorted.
"Keep dreaming, princess."
"Who are you calling a princess?"
