Chapter One.

"Woof."

"Do you see a dog, Mama?" a small voice asked from the rear seat of the small SUV.

Maggie blinked. She could feel the heat rising in her cheeks and was glad no one could see it. Her fair skin always gave her away.

"No, precious, Mama didn't see a dog."

"Then why did you go 'woof' like a dog?"

That was so not something she was going to explain to a three-year-old.

What Maggie saw through the windshield were three of the most rugged, most desirable men on the planet, let alone in Silver, which seemed to have been blessed with good-looking men and women. She could feel her p.u.s.s.y clenching and weeping, preparing itself for the possession of the three magnificent bears. They were large men. Tall, well over six feet, with muscles bulging against the worn cotton of their shirts, crisp, dark hairs peeking out. Oh yeah, they were hot.

One reason why they really did it for Maggie was because she was no longer a wisp of a girl. She was in her thirties now, had given birth to triplets, and had curves. These men would make her feel delicate, as if she would break. But she could only dream of having them in her bed. Being the mother of three inquisitive munchkins and most days working from sunup to sundown didn't allow any time for dating, let alone entertaining. With her desires put on hold, she focused on raising her children and providing for them.

"Mama, the light's green."

The sound of a horn blaring from behind brought unwanted attention from several people around Silver's picturesque downtown, including the men she had been staring at. Three sets of eyes turned in the direction of her SUV as Maggie pressed her foot to the accelerator. She felt her face heat again as she hit the blinker to make a right turn off the square. That was when someone traveling the wrong way T-boned the SUV, rocking it violently.

If the impact wasn't enough to startle them all, the airbags inflating finished the job. All three of her children began crying. Putting the SUV in park, she undid her seatbelt and scrambled over the console until she could get out the other side. The three objects of her desire were there, yanking open doors. The triplets were unbuckled from their seats and lifted out gently, handed off to the man standing behind, and the one behind him. Maggie bounced anxiously as she looked over her children, her heart pounding in her throat. She made comforting sounds, rea.s.suring them.

Maggie reached toward the closest child, her hands shaking. Her children weren't crying any longer, but looking at the men holding them instead. Tears and sniffles lingered. Huge hands patted small backs comfortingly.

"Are you okay, Maggie?" Max Jensen asked, frowning.

"Yes, I'm okay. I'm just a bit shaken up a bit." She looked around as the driver of the other car came hurrying around the front of her SUV. Her heart sank as she saw it was Mrs. Barnes. The woman was a menace in a car. "What were you thinking?" she asked the woman angrily. "You were going the wrong way. You could have hurt my children."

"I know. I'm sorry. I always get confused."

Maggie didn't know how she could get confused. Silver wasn't very big and the woman had lived there her entire life. It wasn't as if there were multiple streets and hundreds of cars to deal with. Silver only had eight traffic lights and most of them were closer to the edge of town. Obviously she was having some difficulties at her advanced age, something that should be looked into. She needed to be gotten off the road before she killed someone.

A cruiser pulled up just then as the crowd around them grew considerably. There would be no shortage of witnesses, even if Mrs. Barnes hadn't obviously been in the wrong. The sheriff, Grayson Evans, didn't look like a happy camper as he approached.

"The ambulance will be here in a minute," he told Maggie in an authoritative voice. "I want all those babies taken for an exam. You, too," he added firmly.

Maggie nodded. It wouldn't have occurred to her to argue with the man. She couldn't remember the last time someone had crossed him. It just wasn't done.

"We're not babies," three small voices announced in unison.

"We're three," Samuel told him in affronted tones.

Grayson's handsome face softened as he looked at them. "Yes, I know you're three. And you're all very brave, too."

As soon as the ambulance arrived, Maggie and her children were put inside. She thanked the three men for their help before the doors were closed. Though she had known them for ages, it was the first time she'd had any interaction with them in a very long time.

After the doctors at the emergency room examined each child, asking questions like, "did you b.u.mp your head?" and "does anything hurt?" they were released. Since it was lunchtime and she was without a car, they walked back toward the center of Silver. After she fed her children she would go over to the sheriff's office. She would also have to contact her insurance agent so she could get her SUV repaired.

Sighing, Maggie opened the door to the restaurant. Her children jogged inside and hurried to an empty booth, seemingly unaffected by the accident. The server gave them each a small menu with pictures, though they had eaten there often enough that they didn't need them. They chose macaroni and cheese and French fries, to be washed down by milk.

As they waited for their food, Samuel, Brant, and Emily, played with the small toys they had been given in the emergency room. They were all making noises to make their trucks go. It made her smile. Her children gave her so much pleasure. There were trying times, of course. How could there not be? They were children, given to various moods. She soothed, praised, and scolded as necessary. She hoped she was a good mother. Her good friends Bambi and Amber rea.s.sured her that she was. But she had to give credit where credit was due. If it hadn't been for the amazing support from those two wonderful women, she might not have been as successful a mother as she was. Three babies at one time had come as a shock. They had been as demanding as any babies in history. Her friends, and others, had provided much-needed help in getting them through feedings, diaper changing, and baths. Without their father in the picture, she was alone in the responsibility of raising them. But the man could not be blamed, as he had been killed by a bull he had sold and was trying to get into a stock trailer.

The arrival of their food brought Maggie out of thoughts she would rather not have. Rick's death had changed a lot of things. They hadn't been together as a couple, but he had promised to help her financially. Unfortunately, after his death there had been nothing for their children. Rick's parents had denied her any a.s.sistance, not even a portion of his life insurance. She was now involved in a legal fight with them to get what his children were ent.i.tled to.

"Mama, can I have your pickle?"

There were three pickles on her plate, placed there by the cook. "Yes, you can have it."

Samuel reached across and took a pickle. Emily and Brant asked next and each took a pickle, sucking on them and making scrunched-up sour faces. She laughed and cut her burger in half. As she did so she looked up when the bell over the door jingled. She swallowed hard as Max, Ethan, and Sean walked in, taking up the doorway with their broad shoulders. Her gaze skimmed over each of them. They were such big men. They were muscular, but not fat by any means, with bulging muscles in their shoulders, arms, and chests. Their thighs were like sculpted tree trunks and she could only imagine how it would feel to have those powerful limbs pressing her own thighs apart.

Maggie blinked as she realized they were headed toward where she sat with the children. Considering her thoughts, she wasn't surprised by the rush of heat up her neck and into her cheeks. d.a.m.n, her porcelain skin and freckles!

"Are they all okay?" Ethan asked when they stopped at the end of the booth.

Maggie nodded. "Yes. They just had a scare."

Brant nodded. "I wasn't very scared," he told the men, looking up at them and smiling.

The three huge men smiled back. "That's good. Nice trucks."

"My truck is blue," Emily said, waving it in the air. "My eyes are blue."

Sean Everett chuckled. "They're a very beautiful blue."

Samuel couldn't be left out. "Red trucks are better. My truck's red."

Her children were all confident and very compet.i.tive with one another. She saw many moments of disharmony in their future.

"Well, it's good to know that everyone is okay. See you around, Maggie."

"Yeah, see you around. And thanks for your help."

The three men headed to the back of the restaurant, where a table had just become available. As inconspicuously as she could, Maggie turned her head to watch them go. Her gaze caressed Ethan Smith's fine, muscular a.s.s, faded jeans molded to it like a second skin. She appreciated the fact that the men had cleaned up before coming to town. Cowboys weren't always s.e.xy. That they were was a myth. There was just nothing s.e.xy about clothes encrusted with cow manure, skin covered with dirt and sweat, not to mention the smell of a man working out in the summer heat. She appreciated the man beneath all that, but she really had no desire to snuggle up to one until after a shower.

It was nice to have fantasies. They kept a woman from getting bored. Laughing at herself, Maggie encouraged her children to put their toys aside and to finish their meal.

An hour later she was leaving the insurance office after a visit to the sheriff's office for an accident report. She wasn't happy. The insurance company said her SUV was totaled. The frame had sustained significant damage. With what they were offering her, she wouldn't be able to buy a reliable replacement. It came as no surprise that the woman who had hit her had no insurance.

A pat on her hip made Maggie look down. It was Emily and she had a worried expression on her round little face. "It'll be okay, Mama. We'll buy you a new car."

They had such big hearts. The three faces looking up at her wish such serious expressions, made her smile. "You will, huh? Well, we better get going. We don't want to have to walk home." She turned them in the direction where the car dealerships were located. It would take about fifteen minutes for them to walk it. "I think we need a walking song. Emily, you go first."

Six walking songs later, they were at the dealership looking over cars. Having three three-year-olds arguing over what color car they should get began to give Maggie a headache. She smiled through it as the salesman showed her what he had in her price range.

It pained Maggie to get her checkbook out. She was a penny pincher. She wrote the check, hoping that she could get money out of the woman who had hit her, to make up the difference in what the insurance company was settling on her destroyed car. She made a call and by the time the paperwork was finished, three new car seats arrived, brought to her by her friend Amber.

Maggie was wiped out as they arrived home. Surprisingly, so were her kids. They normally outlasted her by an hour or so, but all fell onto the couch, yawning and rubbing their eyes as she began pulling their shoes off. She smiled as she looked at each one. They had been very good and she would have to think up a reward for them.

"How about we get your baths done and then I can make supper? Then you can watch a movie before you go to bed."

It was still a few hours until their normal bedtime. She couldn't alter their routine too much, or they would fuss. She figured they would fall asleep about halfway through the movie, so it would work out about right. She would carry them to bed, tuck them in, and then she could have her "mommy" time, which equated into a long soak in the tub with a gla.s.s of wine and a book.

Samuel nodded. "Okay, Mama. Can we have pizza?"

Brant fist pumped. "Yay! Pizza!"

"I want chicken bites," Emily said, pouting.

And Maggie wanted a peaceful evening.

Wanting to avoid conflict at this point in a very long day, Maggie quickly agreed to make both. They ate the mini pizzas she made from scratch and the homemade chicken bites. It saved a lot of money to make the popular food for them. It was also a good way to avoid too much salt and preservatives.

When her children began nodding off at the table, Maggie discovered they weren't averse to going to bed without watching a movie first. She herded them to two small rooms at the rear of the house. As she settled them into their beds after a visit to the bathroom, she kissed each sleepy face and gladly let each hug her tightly.

Maggie sighed as she left the boys' bedroom. The house was so small. It was sweet, charming, and full of character, but it wouldn't be long before she would have to have the addition built. She had already designed it and the thought of it made her smile. There would be three bedrooms built upstairs, two of which would be over the new master bedroom downstairs. She was incorporating two "towers" on the front corners, continuing her grandfather's whimsical design.

The house had been left to her by her grandfather. He had died just four months after the triplets had been born. Maggie would be forever grateful that he had been alive to meet them. It saddened her, however, that he would not be around to be a positive influence on them. The man had had a special kind of character which had made him a favorite with people in the area.

The house, like the man, had character. She had been told since she was little that she and her grandfather were much alike. Maybe that's why she was known as a quirky artist. The house was some kind of hybrid, a cross between an English cottage, a hobbit's house, and something a Who would live in. There weren't many straight lines. It appeared narrow, the front faade flaring toward the top, only to sweep back in to a narrow peak. It was painted a medium shade of violet. The front door was wooden and painted a bright, yellowish-green, a copper gargoyle's face as the door knocker. The front window was round, the frame embedded with bottles of different colors that glowed in the morning light.

The inside was no less unique and fun. Her grandfather had repurposed many things, had given things like old doors and windows another chance in his house. Nothing matched. There were antique doork.n.o.bs on every door, a stamped tin ceiling throughout, and odd geometric cutouts in the walls to let in more light. Her favorite thing was the old wooden door attached to the ceiling. It was painted blue and was mounted above a set of stairs that went nowhere.

Maggie thought the bathroom was the most amazing room. It had a huge porcelain tub placed in front of a gla.s.s, mosaic wall. It was lit from behind. The design was Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night. There was also a waterfall, and with the flip of a switch water would cascade gently over the pieces of gla.s.s her grandfather had meticulously placed to recreate the master's work. Blue gla.s.s tiles covered the other three walls. The sink was made from an old dresser, painted black, with a clear blue gla.s.s bowl on top, with a faucet that resembled an old hand pump. Every time she saw it she chuckled, because her grandfather had painstakingly covered it with gla.s.s beads.

The toilet was boring and unadorned, but there was a small chandelier hanging above it. Emily said it was a princess potty.

Turning on the lights behind the gla.s.s wall and the waterfall, Maggie turned on the water to fill the bathtub. Most days she would just take a shower, which was quite large and hidden behind swinging doors made of rustic planks covered in blue milk paint.

Returning to the kitchen while the tub filled, she poured a gla.s.s of wine and got the book she was currently reading off the counter. Within minutes she was sinking gratefully into the water and opening the book, candles flickering along the edges. They were just for her and always kept where her children couldn't get to them. She read until she lost interest. She didn't know if it was the wine or the fact that she kept thinking about three hot cowboys.

Dating had taken a backseat to raising her children. Maggie did go out, but only when her friends fixed her up with someone. It wasn't something high on her to-do list. Sighing, she reached for the soap and began sliding it over her skin. She washed her arms and up behind her neck, and then down over her chest. She took her time as she washed her b.r.e.a.s.t.s. They were large, firm, and just a little lower than they had been before children. Overall, they still looked good. Her nipples puckered even more as she circled the soap around them. She moaned as a charge of electric-like sensation shot through each one. Closing her eyes and leaning back, she gave her imagination free rein.

Maggie allowed herself to let Max slide into the tub with her. Oh. She sighed as she felt the man's body settle behind her, powerful thighs trapping her between. There were parts of his body pressing against her that her imagination hadn't given enough credit to. The man's hard c.o.c.k was pressing against her lower back. Brawny arms reached around her. One slid across her ribs, just below her b.r.e.a.s.t.s, plumping them, the water flowing over from the valley between. The other crossed her upper chest, his fingers sliding around her jaw, tipping her head back so he could press a sizzling hot kiss on her aching lips.

Another moan escaped Maggie as Max captured her mouth, his tongue delving deeply within, to tangle and duel until they were both gasping for breath. Feeling the water sloshing against her, she opened her left eye to see Sean easing his huge body into the sunken tub. The water rose higher, but she didn't give it any thought as slid his hands along her shins to her knees, pressing them apart, leaving her vulnerable and exposed beneath the water's surface.

Panting now, she leaned her head back against Max's shoulder when he released her mouth. Her gaze was fixed to Sean's face. His eyes were as blue as the Montana sky. They were bright and piercing, and gazing at her b.r.e.a.s.t.s as if he was utterly fascinated by them.

Maggie was intensely aware of their post-baby size. He caught her hands in his even before she realized she had been about to cover them. Her hands fluttered nervously, but she didn't try to cover herself again. Instead, she watched as Sean cupped them in his palms, raising them above the surface of the water, and leaned forward to take a berry-sized nipple between his lips.

Fire flashed through her veins as Sean began to suckle one breast while kneading the other with his callused hand. Maggie moaned, her back arching, begging for more. Max nuzzled her neck, his hands stroking her stomach and the inside of her right thigh. The muscles of her p.u.s.s.y clenched and began throbbing, reminding her of how long it had been since she had been with a man, let alone two. Though she had a certain amount of experience with the opposite s.e.x, she had never been with two men. When Ethan appeared at the side of the tub, she thought her heart would stop altogether. Her gaze slid up the length of his body, missing nothing, and certainly not the length of the c.o.c.k jutting boldly from his groin.

Maggie's eyes shot open as she was jolted abruptly out of her fantasy. A small fist pounded on the door. "Mama, I have to pee."

Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Maggie rose from the tub and stepped out, grabbing a bright pink towel as she did so. Emily had chosen the color of the towels the last time. Pink was an improvement over the dull orange-brown Samuel had chosen previously.

"Okay, just give Mama a moment to get her robe on." She tossed the damp towel into the hamper before reaching for her robe. She pulled it on and went to open the door. Emily dashed past her. Samuel and Brant were also in line. "Be sure to wash your hands when you're done. And give your sister a moment before you start pounding on the door."

Maggie went across the hall to her room. Though it was the largest, it was still small. The closets were inadequate and she had the s.p.a.ce for only a double bed and one dresser. Sometimes she thought it was rather like living out of a suitcase. She had her clothes stashed in any number of places throughout the house.

Though she had just used a large chunk of her savings to provide herself with transportation without having to wait on insurance companies and irresponsible drivers, she knew she had to get the addition started. Since it was spring, with luck it would be finished before the first snowfall. She would call the construction company in the morning. An architect already had her design and had drawn up the blueprints.

With her pajamas on, and her hair brushed, Maggie went to check on her children. It didn't surprise her that they were in the living room and just about to turn on the TV. "Oh, no you don't. Back to bed with you. It's sleeping time."

She checked the lock on the front door, turned out the lights, and followed them back down the hall. There was the usual whining and cajoling, but she ignored it as they climbed into their beds. She tucked Samuel and Brant in, hugging and kissing each, before going into Emily's room and repeating the process.

Two minutes later she was turning out the light and getting into her own bed. She pulled the blankets over her body with a sigh and closed her eyes.

Maggie chuckled as she thought of her lost fantasy. She couldn't even get imaginary romance and hot s.e.x with three toddlers around.

She was going to have to work on that.
