Chapter 33
The Topic Terminator
‘Should I go and say h.e.l.lo later?’
Yin Xun thought for a moment. There were too many people here, so she better pretend she did not see anything.
“Recently, I have heard a lot of things about Miss Yin Xun. Miss Yin Xun is very decisive. She took over the company the moment she returned to the country and helped President Yin to handle the business. Today, I had a look at her and she really lives up to her reputation.” Xing Cheng could tell that Yin Xun was different from the other girls, so he changed the way he talked about her. After all, it was never wrong to praise someone.
However, he had overlooked one point, and that was that Yin Xun was not an ordinary person.
After hearing Xing Cheng’s words, Yin Xun caught the main point and asked, “Heard? Which big mouth did you hear that from?” As she asked, she looked at Yin Mo and Si Fan. Si Fan’s expression was calm, and he did not have any reaction. However, Yin Mo’s gaze was unfocused, and she did not dare to look her in the eye.
Seeing her reaction, Yin Xun immediately understood. It seemed like not only did she have to prevent Yin Mo from making random decisions, she also had to prevent her from going out and talking nonsense. She had thought that Yin Mo was just a pure saint, but she did not expect her to be such a big mouth.
Xing Cheng was speechless.
Yin Xun was indeed the topic terminator. Why was her focus so different? Under normal circ.u.mstances, should she not be humble or praise him back?
How was he going to continue the conversation?
Even though he had been in love for many years and had a lot of experience in picking up girls, he could not bring it into play at this moment, because Yin Xun was completely different from other girls!
However…
Xing Cheng looked at Yin Xun. There had never been a girl who could ignore his pursuit. Perhaps Yin Xun was just using another method to attract his attention.
“Miss Yin, you are so interesting. Your younger sister and I are good friends. Do you mind sharing your contact information? We can meet up to have fun in the future when we have time. Xing Cheng revealed a smile that he thought was charming. At the same time, he took out his phone and was about to take down Yin Xun’s number.
“I’m sorry, I mind.” Yin Xun held back her disgust and refused with a smile.
Such an old-fashioned way of picking up girls was no longer popular in her world. Instead, it would make people feel that it was extremely greasy.
Yin Xun really did not want to face this narcissistic and greasy man, so she gave him a big smile. “I’m sorry, Mr. Xing. I ate too many desserts just now and I feel greasy. I need to go out and digest it. I’m afraid I’ll throw up if I stay here any longer.”
“Sister, are you feeling unwell? But I haven’t seen you eat any desserts since you came here.” Yin Mo said with concern.
“That’s because you didn’t see it.” Yin Xun gave a perfunctory smile, then turned around and walked out.
At the entrance of the club, Yin looked for a corner to sit and relax. There were all kinds of people in the banquet hall, and the air was too turbid. The air outside was better.
Before they came, Yin Xun had asked Mary to find the photos of the bosses of each company and print them all on a piece of paper so that it would be easier for her to recognize people.
Yin Xun saw that there was no one around, so she took out the paper full of photos from her bag and started to compare them with the people she had just seen.
Fortunately, her memory was good. There were so many people in the hall, but she only had to glance around once to remember everyone present. After matching the faces with names, Yin Xun tore the paper into pieces and threw it into the trash can beside her. She was ready to go back.
Now that she knew who those people were and which company they were in, she would observe their words and actions to fully understand which ones were suitable for cooperation and which ones should be kept away.
“It’s you, indeed.”
A familiar voice came from behind her. Yin Xun turned around and saw that it was her neighbor.
She was not surprised at all that her neighbor was here. This was because the neighborhood she lived in was full of rich and powerful people. There were only a few people in the upper-cla.s.s circle. Since the neighbors were not ordinary people, it was normal for them to come here to attend the banquet.
“What a coincidence, I didn’t expect to meet you here.” Yin Xun smiled as she greeted him. She had already expressed her apology that night and had even helped her neighbor out, so the two of them were even now. She did not need to feel embarra.s.sed.
Seeing that Fang Yao seemed ready to leave, she asked, “What, you’re leaving?”
Fang Yao nodded and said, “I’m waiting for the bus.”
“I’ll be going back soon. If you need it, I can take you back. My car is nearby,” Yin Xun said casually.
She did not expect Fang Yao accept her offer. He nodded his head seriously and said, “My car broke down. If I can’t get it fixed, I might really need your help.”
“No problem, it’s not a big deal.”
