Reverend Lexur McDarmarius
I noticed that everyone’s eyes were directed to me, waiting for what I would say. Before speaking, I swallowed some saliva and let it flows to my throat. Then I heard Op-art’s whisper which was accompanied by a smirk and giggle. “Dead! Kiddo will be dealt with!”
“She needs to obtain the Riotean army.” I answered with confidence. “She will lose without it because their enemy, the Razaks of Planet Oorte, were allied with Chrome. We all know that there are only two powerful planets in the whole galaxy and those are the empire of Chrome and Exilon. Chancellor Violet was not supported by King Gario VIII of planet Chrome because the king was afraid that if he did that, planet Exilon will treat it as an Act of War. Supporting Chancellor Violet will spell a violation of the Treaty of Kromiz-Zekek. In other words, the king washed his hands off. After that, Chancellor Violet’s visit to Planet Riote didn’t please Chancellor Granule Pompador because the latter didn’t want to be involved in war. Unfortunately, Chancellor Violet is a somehow, villainous. She poisoned the people inside of the conference hall and even the cabinet members she brought. Through that action, she obtained the Riotean force without much difficulty.”
All of them were putting up an expression of disbelief, as if they couldn’t believe that I managed to answer the question, and with even such details. I saw that everyone is eyeing me. Maybe I went overboard in showing off.
“You forgot something about the poisoning part.” Reverend Astronomiya doesn’t want to immediately put out the issue.
“Chancellor Violet is immune to poison because she’s a genocide, a splice with a snake form.” I hurriedly added.
“Excellent, but I’m not fond of your att.i.tude, Celestial.” Lexur b.u.t.ted in.
“You could not possibly become deader after this.” Op-art once again whispered.
From his seat, he rose up and head towards me. Reverend Lexur gave me a frightening glare. He studied my face and then exclaimed in realization. “You’re the twin brother of that courageous girl! The two of you had probably come from an educated family – a wealthy one which caused you to be vulnerable to tardiness. Do you know that sleeping in the cla.s.s is an act of disrespect towards your brethren whose voices became hoa.r.s.e just to teach the others?” His eyes were blazing in fury.
Only now did I notice that this male Pillar member has a lanky built. It’s odd. All Pillar male members were supposed to be made a eunuch because it’s one of the requirements for their job. It’s surprising and odd because once a man had been castrated, he would grow fatter. However, Lexur is not like them.
“Ruiz!” He called Op-art’s surname.
“Yes, Reverend!” He answered in surprise.
“Meet me at my office after cla.s.s!” The Pillar who doesn’t know what a joke is ordered with strictness. Maybe he had seen how Op-art behaved earlier. I sighed in relief. Reverend Lexur’s tone when speaking shows how he couldn’t forgive people who sinned. His aura is like the color of his hair. It’s the color of a Malbas plant because he doesn’t know how to forgive. It’s terrifying. “Bring Celestial with you later.”
What? I thought I would be exempted since I perfectly answered that female cultist… I was wrong in a.s.suming that?
After the cla.s.s session, Op-art and I went to Reverend Lexur’s office. There, we chanced upon Stellar. “I didn’t guess wrongly.” She said.
“What guess?” I asked in irritation.
“That you’d also be punished like me, Big Bro!” Stellar replied with sarcasm.
I ignored her and chose to just ask Op-art. “What kind of punishment will we receive?”
“Three days with no food. Three days with no water and three days of praying for Ynamoreven’s forgiveness.” He said.
What? Three days of praying to the G.o.ddess of forgiveness? Insane! This is insanity! Shouted by my mind. I was like a volcano that is ready to erupt.
After blinking once, Reverend Lexur came in while holding a book. “The three of you, read the Book of Forgiveness of Y-na-mo-re-ven!” He ordered to the three of us with strictness. He handed the book to the two of us and then sat on his white chair.
I grabbed the thick book of Holy Writ on the table.
Y-na-mo-re-ven! The voice keeps on replaying in my mind. I feel so p.i.s.sed off to this old Pillar cultist.
“I finished reading the 60,000th verse, Reverend.” Stellar informed the Pillar.
“Go to the Templar and pray.”
“I obey, Reverend.” She said. When she stood up and faced me, she gave a taunting smile, as if she’s laughing at my misfortune. It seems she really wants to annoy me.
After two days of not eating and drinking, I noticed that my body had lost some weight and become thinner. It can’t be helped though.Onlywhen bathing could I take the opportunity to secretly drink water. When showering, I would always drink the water that falls upon me just to ease my thirst. After staying at his office for the past two days, I have almost memorized every verse of the Book of Forgiveness.
Last night, I was tightly sleeping on the small bed when someone shook my feet.
“Sa-saturn?” I confirmed to the young man who gently woke me up.
“Shhh!” He warned. He went near me and with a low voice whispered to my ears. “Don’t make any noise.” Then he pointed his finger to the surveillance cameras which are scattered in the room. He secretly handed me bread which he fished out from his pocket. “Eat this. Cover yourself with your blanket so that you won’t be seen by the spies.” He hurriedly went back to his own bedding after giving that small bread to me.
I immediately hide under my blanket and then ate the food that Saturn had sneaked out for me. So tasty! I never imagined myself experiencing this. The rich prince Orion Tudor is finding a spoiled bread that is almost covered in mold delicious.
A painful reality.
The next morning, while all the others were busy harvesting the wheat, I stealthily approached Saturn. “Thanks!” He gave me a radiant smile.
It’s already the third day of my punishment, the day when all the fasting, thirst and reading of those nonsensical translated messages of the G.o.ds and G.o.ddesses. Together with Op-art, we offered a lantern to the Templar and then prayed. Or should I say, I faked praying. Only Op-art was praying earnestly but that’s not the case for me. I’m not a cultist so why would I?
An hour pa.s.sed and that was when we were summoned to his office by Reverend Lexur. He gave us each a platter full of foods and a big gla.s.s filled with water, ice, and cold lemonade. We ate carefully to avoid receiving another sermon from the merciless Reverend Lexur. It’s to my advantage though because I managed to taste and appreciate every grain of the corn, the sweet carp dipped in honey, sautéed vegetables and mashed potato with margarine. Truly, what a delicious meal.
It’s almost the setting of the sun when we returned to our quarters.
“How’s your diet?” asked by a demon who seemed to be in the same age as Op-art and I. “How does it feel to be molested by Lexur? Was he good?” He taunted to us.
“How does it feel to be touched by a man?” added by his another companion.
“Yes, it was as good as your snot.” Op-art answered with sarcasm. “How about you, brother? When are you going to accept that your group is a big loser in the Annual Demon Children Games?” He jokingly but mockingly said to them.
It’s obvious that the leader of those guys had been p.i.s.sed off by Op-art’s joke. He slowly walked towards him and gave him a strong slap to the back. “Next month. So you better prepare. Loser!” The man whispered his challenge.
Whoa! This slave is quite spirited.
“You’re pitiful, brother. You couldn’t accept that you lose in a game. Please, okay? You already have hairs down there so stop acting like a kid. You know, it’s shameful!” Op-art hissed back. Because of this that the group left us. That was when Rigel, Regulus, Saturn and the other demons approached us.
“What did the b.a.s.t.a.r.d say?” Saturn inquired.
“Wait, who are they first?” I asked.
“They are the group headed by Prometeus and Virgil. They like ridiculing the others, especially newcomers like you.” Answered by Kevan.
“But why did I only see them now? Why are they not with us when farming?” I once again asked.
“You know already, right? They are good in getting into the good sides of the Pillar. They’re the leach group. They are good in leeching off.” Saturn replied jokingly while watching Prometeus and Virgil’s group with a smile.
“Who’s Prometeus among them?” Regulus asked.
“The one with the huge built but small brain. The other one, Virgil, is the drug addict-looking guy. The two of them are the leaders of that group. Ignore them because they will also die when the Tri-Polar Eclipse comes.” Said by Op-art.
I was laughing because of Op-art’s description. A giant with small brain and an addict-like corpse. When observed closely, what he said hits the bull’s eyes. Prometeus has a G.o.d-like body, strong aura, golden hair and grey eyes while Virgil looks like a walking skeleton, with a coffee-colored hair, complexion that is like a tree’s bark and eyes which resembled chocolate. I judged them as stupid creatures with sharp tongues. They will end up in a pathetic state if they ever learned who they faced earlier. If I were only in my real post, I will make them walk the whole sanctuary while naked and with ‘I am a son of a btch’ tattooed on their bodies as atonement for their misconduct in front of prince Orion Tudor II. No one is given the right to mock my name. Just you wait everyone, ‘til I find my soulmate.
