And from the description of imprint, she drank my blood to set this whole thing off. I racked my brain for when that could have happened.

Was it when I coughed up blood from my injuries?

The most unsettling thing about this bond though was definitely the shared feelings. Even now I could feel what she was feeling, even though it says on the status it's only "slightly shared" it was weird.

The other note for concern was the fact that this person, who looked like a normal kid, was an infected. If it wasn't for the really pale skin and red eyes, I would call her a completely normal human. Her skills were also insane, hyper growth, regeneration and ruler.

If I was playing a game, skills like this would break it, I mean is this what all "Royal cla.s.s strain" Infected get?

Because if it is, we humans are screwed, the growth potential of the royal cla.s.s is too much. And I don't know if there's a more powerful strain out there. I mean the special I faced was also really powerful and it hasn't been that long since this started.

No, no. Even that s.h.i.tty G.o.d wouldn't make something so broken. Yeah her type must be rare.

I couldn't help but sigh. The biggest problem that now faces me though is what I am going to do with her.

I mean I couldn't take care of her, could I? I can barely take care of myself.

I lowered my head and looked at the girl in the fetal position, her feeling of happiness overflowing from her.

The image of my dead sister appeared in my head and the innocent feeling that she had seemed to overlap with this small girl. My mother had let me pick the baby's name, as she said it would make us closer later on.

After my father's death, with only me and my mother left, I placed more importance in my family. So I put in a lot of effort trying to think of a good name. And as I stared at the girl in my arms, my mouth instinctively spoke the name I was going to use if I had a sister.

"Ella"

I said it in a daze as I stare down at her and…

Suddenly her status popped up in front of me again, and I realized I didn't need to a.n.a.lyze the girl to see it. If I just thought about it, it would pop up like mine. Her updated stats read.

A hollow laugh escaped me as I saw her name change, and tears started to gather in my eyes. Isn't that funny, it's like the world wants me to look after her. She even has my sisters' name now...

As the name was registered and I gave out my hollow laugh, the girl in my arms turned gleeful at being given a new name and snuggled up to me even more.

I sat there for another few minutes contemplating and finally made my decision.

If this is how the world wants to play it, then why not. I looked at the pet.i.te body and realized I couldn't leave her to fend for herself, even if I tried. Having decided I slowly moved my body and shook her.

She looked up at me with inquisitive eyes, blood still splashed on her face.

"Ella."

My voice broke slightly as I called out to her. She nodded her head at me, to tell me she recognized her name. I took a deep breath and continued.

"Ella do you understand what I am saying?"

She just continued to look at me, completely blank on what I was saying.

*Sigh*

I guess they don't get force fed knowledge in the coc.o.o.ns they come from; this is going to be annoying.

Just when I was having that thought, I heard a noise from the door way.

*Bang*

Something had knocked into the door frame as it made its way in.

I just remembered, there are s.h.i.t tones of infected still roaming around. Even if I had killed all of them on this floor, there were more on other floors. I quickly scrambled to my feet making Ella tumble to the floor.

A feeling of sadness reached me, but I didn't have time to worry about that, I quickly looked around for my blade. Dammit, it was totally ruined, the skin of that special was too d.a.m.n tough.

I had even left my bag back in reception when I raged beforehand. So I couldn't grab a sword from there.

Well it would have to do.

I picked up my dulled blade and faced towards the new threat. I used a.n.a.lyze just in case, there wasn't much of a difference with what the regular look like. But after the special yesterday, I felt a lingering fear. Just to be sure.

The fear wasn't warranted.

I relaxed slightly as I confirmed that it was a normal infected. And with the AGI it had, I wouldn't have trouble taking it down. Though I did notice that this regular was level 2, all the regular's yesterday had been level 1.

They were evolving, and getting stronger. It made my face grim, with the prospect once again hitting me hard. Not to mention there would be more special cla.s.ses out there and maybe G.o.d forbid, a royal cla.s.s or something more dangerous.

It sent shivers down my spine thinking about it, but I re-concentrated and quickly finished off the regular.

*Clap Clap*

As I finished of the regular, I heard a clapping sound from behind me. Ella was staring at me and clapping as I destroyed its head, she had a toothy grin on her face and was excitedly bouncing from one foot to the other.

I couldn't tell if she was happy about the kill, or the blood that splashed about.

Though that did remind me, yesterday when I had fainted, Ella was just a new born, and now she looks 2 years old. Looking at her status again it says she's 10 hours old.

Holy!!

It's been 10 hours! I was out for that long?

Cold sweat filled my head, if one of those things had come for me when I was asleep. I would have been dead meat, literally.

Shock also filled my eyes at the other revelation; Ella had grown this much in 10 hours?!?!

How much faster will she grown in the future, and when will it stop?

Ella moved towards me as I contemplated this and looked up at me.

"What is it?"

I asked even though I knew she couldn't understand me.

Her status screen suddenly popped up in front of me, giving me a fright. She can do that?

She looked at me expectantly, and I figured she wanted me to give it a once over again?

Oh! Her level had risen to 1. Right I'm sharing the exp I get now. Killing that regular had leveled her.

But why was she looking at me with glittering eyes? The screen shifted downwards at my confusion and stopped on the attributes section. She pointed at them.

Ah. She wanted me to pick her stats?

Why would she want that? Whatever, what should I pick for her? She was still small and looked pretty fragile. Ok I'll put 3 in END and 3 in INT. She needed to get smarter fast, and the endurance would make it harder to die. With her hyper growth, I don't know if stats will really be a problem for her though. Her new stats looked like this.

After clicking in the stats, she seemed satisfied and turned her head towards the regular I just killed. I could feel the hunger welling up in her. She moved towards the body and hunched over it. I couldn't watch as she started to eat, I may have decided to protect her. But that was too much for me, at least for now.

*Munch* *Crunch*

The sound started up as I turned towards where my blade had been laying. The half-eaten corpse of the special was lying there, and scattered around it where, not 1, not 2 but 5 different globes of light.

At least when I have a tough fight I can get some good rewards.

I looked at my ripped cloths, maybe some new cloths, and a new weapon. I got slightly excited as I moved towards the globes.

One even shimmered in a golden color, a lot different from the usually ones!
