Long Yu woke up feeling groggy. It was not easy for his body to endure the painful upgrades from last night.

He had used 300 million yuan to exchange for three syringes containing nano-machine exoskeleton armor for his right lower limb, and both upper limbs.

Although he had already experienced it once previously, it did not make it any easier for him to endure. Not only did the pain made his muscles ache from tensing up too much, but it also drained him mentally.

Long Yu could have taken it slow and use the syringes at separate times, but he wanted to strengthen himself as soon as possible. There was no telling when he would have to face a strong enemy.

After another couple hours of sleep, Long Yu was roused by something rustling beside him. It seems that Xixi had just awoken.

Compared to the upgrades he just received, this little bit of soreness was nothing. Except for his torso and head, Long Yu was now fully equiped with nano-machine exoskeleton armor on all his limbs. It not only increased his combat prowess, but also gave him an extra layer of protection.

Getting off the bed, he carried the yawning Xixi and went to the bathroom. The little girl stood on a stool as they both brushed their teeth at the sink. Long Yu did not hesitate to use mineral water for rinsing their mouths. It was from the store and he did not plan on bringing them away anyway.

After a breakfast of chicken congee and breadsticks requested by Xixi, they started to pack away their belongings. There was not much to carry since all the items that Long Yu exchanged for yesterday can be directly stored into the system storage.

Xixi was in charge or bringing all the bathroom necessities that they used and placing them on the counter. She also cleaned the plates and cutleries that they used last night and this morning eventhough Long Yu told her that there was no need to.

As for Long Yu, he stored away the queen bed, along with the bedsheet and pillows. He also strolled into the makeshift bathroom and came out seconds later. The porcelain bathtub inside had disappeared.

After packing everything up, he told Xixi to wait in the store as he climbed into the car. He then scooted himself from the front pa.s.senger seat to the driver's side.

Having checked that the coast was clear outside the store, he then exited the car and walked towards the gas pumps. Next to the pumps, several vehicles with now missing or dead owners, were directly traded to the system by Long Yu.

'Now I can finally refuel my car,' he thought to himself as he dusted his hands from imaginary dirt.

Since the vehicles were now ownerless, he had no reason not to take, no, trade them away. Besides, a white van had been blocking his car from one of the gas pump that he wanted to use. He needed to refuel the Black Shark since the tank had dropped quite a bit from yesterday's drive.

After having cleared the s.p.a.ce, Long Yu went back to the car. Waiting for Xixi to board, he took one last look at the store. Apart from the empty s.p.a.ce where he placed the bed, the interior was messy from the fallen racks and items.

He did not plan on taking the supplies inside since his car was already full. Besides, the store's items would not earn him much even if he traded them to the system. Most importantly, he wanted to leave these supplies for other survivors. These items might not be difficult for him to obtain, but it could not be said to be the same for others. It would at least increase their chances at surviving in this now dangerous world.

With the car fully refuelled, Long Yu and Xixi continued on their journey.

During the drive, Long Yu recalled the system upgrades of the Black Shark. Although several improvements had been made to the mobility and defence of the car through normal currency, those special abilities, like the exoskeleton armor cost mutant cores.

Since Long Yu did not have any mutant cores, he could only choose the basic modifications which required money. Furthermore, there also seems to be a limit to the level that he could modify his car.

After spending tens of millions of yuan, he managed to upgrade most of the basic modifications to level 3, which was the max.

Compared to the nano-machine exoskeleton armor, the Black Shark also did not have too long a list of special modifications. According to the system, it was due to the difference between the grades of the two items. This obviously meant that the exoskeleton armor is an item of higher grade. Nonetheless, Long Yu had to admit that the car's available special modifications were already quite powerful.
