Chapter 15: First time

Qianye didn’t expect Mimi’s senses to be so sharp. He had just saw her gather the corpses and he slightly moved the hand on the tree as he thought, creating a faint sound, and was unexpectedly noticed.

“It’s me, Qianye.” he walked out from his hiding spot.

To be able to meet Mimi so early in the battle was rather lucky of Qianye. Meeting a partner in a place where enemies surrounded all four directions was rather beneficial.

Seeing that it was Qianye, Mimi’s face relaxed, “So it’s you! You scared me. So how, will we team up?”

This was what Qianye wanted, he nodded, “Alright!”

“Take this.” Mimi threw a whistle at Qianye.

Taking it, Qianye spoke, “You’re pretty lucky, let’s go back now!”

Mimi immediately shook her head, “No, we can’t. There’s two of us now, we can use this advantage to kill and split the rewards. We have the chance of entering the top ten.”

Qianye hesitated, but eventually agreed.

Actually, even as a two-man team, there was still risks present, not much lesser than the risk of moving solitarily.

The other students could form teams as well. Furthermore, the soldiers of the dark races were all very strong, they weren’t forces immature girls and boys could go against easily. According to the descriptions of the dark race the teachers gave, even Qianye and Mimi together may not be able to win against a dark race fighter.

Scanning her, Qianye suddenly noticed three whistles hanging from Mimi’s waist!

Other than her own whistle, she had actually managed to kill three people within the short time since the test started!

One of them whistles on her waist followed her movements and swayed, revealing a number. Qianye’s heart instantly trembled, he had seen this number somewhere before.

Just as Qianye was thinking, Mimi suddenly flashed him a hand sign, signalling for them to move forwards with him leading in front.

Lowering his body, Qianye slowly moved in the forest with Mimi following behind him, occasionally glancing behind, splitting her attention.

After walking a few steps forward, lighting suddenly struck at the fog in his heart! He remembered where he had seen this number!

That whistle belonged to a powerful youngster in their cla.s.s, his ranking close to Qianye’s.

That youngster also interacted with Mimi, it was rumoured that they even had an intimate relationship. And because of Mimi, that fellow saw Qianye as his enemy.

But because of having Song Zining as his backer, as well as his own fame of being vicious, that fellow didn’t dare to show his anger at Qianye’s relationship with Mimi. Anyways, Qianye wasn’t interested in Mimi’s affairs since they didn’t have a romantic relationship or even planned on having one.

But now, that youngster’s whistle appeared on Mimi’s waist!

At that instant, Qianye faintly understood something and a chill struck his heart!

Without thinking further, Qianye immediately pounced forwards with all his might!

A sound of surprise came from behind followed by an attack flying towards his waist. No matter how fast Qianye was, his waist still went cold, followed by a fiery pain!

Rolling forwards, Qianye moved behind a large tree before standing. As he escaped, he had to dodge multiple of Mimi’s attacks, but even so, two wounds appeared on his body.

After looking down at the wound on his body, he looked back to Mimi and asked coldly, “Why?”

“To pa.s.s and receive rewards.”

Gently pulling her messy hair, Mimi laughed coldly, “If it weren’t for destroying all of your wariness, why would I be willing to get close to the few of you? f.u.c.k, I even had to sleep with a few of those idiots! Thankfully you’re not like a man at all, asking nothing from me. However, you’re more wary than I expected, but even so, you’re injured? Therefore, you’re doomed!”

“I thought that, teaming up would be more beneficial.” Qian Ye spoke with furrowed brows.

Mimi laughed coldly, “Benefits? No matter profitable it is, will splitting the rewards with another person help me enter the top ten? Maybe if you were Song Zining, it would make sense! The you now? What are you even? Without Song Zining, you wouldn’t even be standing here like this.”

Qianye weighed the dagger in his hand as his vision became fiery, he spoke, “I understand now. If you want to kill me, come at me!”

“Then, let’s skip the pleasantries!”

Like a panther, Mimi pounced and entered a battle with Qianye.

The two of them fought more than once in cla.s.s, the battle style Mimi was used to seeing felt familiar to what Qianye was about to do, but the moment they exchanged their first blow, she felt as though suddenly something was different. Qian Ye’s style changed from the meticulous counterattacking into an open way of fighting, attacking with sharp blows!

Qianye ignored his body defenses and aimed for a battle where both sides would be injured. Mimi instantly landed three stabs on his body, but Qianye had similarly struck her twice! The both of them were injured at their arms.

When they exchanged blows again, the both of them used the Combatant Formula’s fierce Origin energy, but because of the pain from Mimi’s injury at her arm, she involuntarily trembled.

And at that moment, Qianye shouted as the Origin energy in his body gushed, causing an incomparably strong force appearing from the dagger.

Mimi’s entire body trembled and her hands went soft, it was an immediate tiebreaker! Qianye’s dagger flew, instantly opening a large wound at her shoulder and revealing her tragically white bones.

“You, you,” Mimi held her wound, both furious and shocked.

Qianye also had wounds on his arms, injuries deeper than hers. However, his strength and attacks were completely unaffected, it was as if his injuries did not even exist. Mimi even started to doubt whether Qianye could even feel pain!

What she didn’t know was that Qianye knew what pain was, but under the constant extreme torment of the Bing Yue exercise,  these bodily wounds was nothing much.

With her shoulder damaged, Mimi could no longer raise her right arm.

She watched as Qianye walked closer step by step, the originally delicate face she belittled full of coldness and calmness. Mini suddenly cried out with a shriek, “No, don’t kill me, I don’t want to die! Let me go!”

As if under extreme shock, she cried as she turned to leave, her appearance extremely savage as she ran with her back completely exposed. She had collapsed under the fear of death.

Clenching and unclenching his five fingers once, he suddenly gripped his dagger tightly and circulated his Origin energy, throwing it out with all his strength.

The dagger released the misty red colour of the Origin energy. The sharp whistle of the blade cutting through air accompanying what seemed to be a shooting star as it instantly pierced into Mimi’s heart from her back!

Suddenly stopped, Mimi looked back in shock. She still didn’t believe that Qianye would kill her even at death’s doorstep.

Though she seemed very panicked, she was slowly charging her Origin Energy to the max, and at that point, she would be able to escape explosively. She believed that with this explosive short distance skill, no one in Acheron camp would be able to chase up to her, yet at the last moment, Qianye’s dagger appeared.

At that moment, a soft sigh appeared deep in Qianye’s heart, which was quickly sealed with ice in the deepest corner of it. This was his first time killing something with his own hands.

Gathering the whistles, he speedily entered the forest. His surroundings were already filled with sounds of movements, someone had obviously heard the sounds of battling here and came to take advantage of the situation.

The night was very long, and in the dark forest, Qianye met with two powerful opponents. After two painful fights, he painstakingly used his berserking method to kill them. Helping him collect nine whistles in total from them, it was obvious to see how powerful they were.

After killing three opponents continuously, Qianye suffered many injuries and could not hold in anymore, forcing him to find a hidden spot amongst the trees to hide and wait for the next opponent. Because of his heavy injuries, his Origin Energy was close to empty, but after some thinking, he chose to not use the whistles to leave.

The nature of the Origin Energy Qianye painstakingly cultivated was much more tyrannical than usual, his final blow could rival a second ranked fighter! If it he weren’t seen my the opponent, he would have the ability to end them with one blow.

Since he had endured to this point already, Qian Ye wanted to hold on until the end. Not only to increase his score, but to improve himself for the worser environment of a battlefield. If he were to fail to even see this test to its end, he would easily die off in the future. Slowly, Qianye’s heart calmed down as he stopped moving to save the last bit of his energy.

But only a while after he hide himself, three sharp whistles sounded throughout the mountainous area, this was the signal of the test’s end!

Qianye was shocked, it was over? Not even night had pa.s.sed, and it actually ended?

This meant that in a night, almost half of the thousand students died off.

Looking at the dozen over whistles hanging on his waist, his originally dark feelings changed into numbness. Taking up one of the whistles, he blew it with force, and a teacher immediately appeared before him. Following the teacher, Qianye slowly left the testing grounds.

But he knew that he had left something on this field. In this kind of a world, this kind of an environment, things that one expected to last forever would always be changed slowly.

On the morning of the second day, the results was announced. Unexpectedly, Qianye saw his name in the top ten list! One must know, the partic.i.p.ation count was over a thousand!

Other than Song Zining who was ranked seventh, no one else in his cla.s.s entered the top ten position. The top ten positions came with bountiful prizes, and the prizes of Acheron Camp was known to be extremely good, the normally calm Qianye could not help but feel antic.i.p.ation towards the prizes the moment he saw his name.

Who knew when Song Zining appeared next to Qianye, he suddenly patted his shoulder and laughed, “Not bad! It’ll probably be a holiday at night, how about celebrating together?”

Qianye was at a loss, “How?”

“Of course, with women and wine! I’ll introduce two annoying fellows to you as well.” Song Zining spoke old-fashionedly as though he had experienced the money-wasting establishments on the upper continent of the empire.

Qianye could not help but roll his eyes. Song Zining had clearly entered Acheron Camp in the same year Qianye did, it was just that they were not friends yet in the first few years. The year they came in, Qianye was seven and Song Zining was eight. Could it be that he was born so abnormally that he was able to enter those places at the age of eight?

As expected, they were given their first holiday at night.

Song Zining, Qianye and two other youngster’s that rushed to come from another cla.s.s brought food from the cafeteria as well as alcohol from G.o.d knows who to the a mountain slope with good scenery, where they lit a fireplace and had a picnic. The two other children were both with backing, similarly ranked in the top ten list.

There were four of them present, accompanied by eight girls. Surprisingly, the alcohol was decent, all of them were yeared spirits.

Just from a small sip, Qianye was chocked into a coughing fit, his face instantly dyed red as his body swayed.

Seeing how weak he was, Song Zining and the two other children laughed loudly as they convinced him to drink more, taking advantage of the situation.

Qianye only felt that every mouthful was like a bundle of fire in his stomach. His consciousness became blurry as strange thoughts appeared. His guts seemed to have bloated as well all of a sudden, it was do big it was unbelievable, and as he drank, he had the recollection of promising a lot of impressive things.

One must know that Qianye was originally a daring child. But now, it was like he did not have a single fear at all. For example, he seemed to have promised that whoever who fell unconscious first, would have to wear a skirt and dance in front of everyone.
