He sn.i.g.g.e.red as he eyed the reapers who focused on devouring his soldiers.

'It has been some time since I have gone all out.'

He rotated his neck as he voiced out his suggestion.

"Let's compete on who succeeds first?"

Hak grinned as he slowly removed his sword from his waist," What's the catch?"

Zeno pushed his gla.s.ses as he added, "The loser would have to obey the victor for a whole day."

"A day? That's boring.. let's make it a month." Hak scoffed.

" That does make it interesting. Deal."

As they were discussing the details for the contest they arranged. They heard a mocking voice in front of them.

"Aren't you guys a little late to make a move then?"

They swiftly turned their heads, just in time to hear a loud screech. They watched as one of the reapers was been surrounded by a wall of blue fire. They could see the reaper slashing here and there repeatedly.

"d.a.m.n it." Jinha cursed as he watched the reaper desperately try to escape the fire.

Fire mages have three stages: orange, red, and blue. Orange being shaky but hazardous and red being explosive and violent. The blue fire is the strongest, its also known as the crystal fire, blows like a blizzard and consumes like a volcano.

Liz was a born genius in fire magic as she knew how to control the blue stage and use it according to her will which even the elderly find it hard.

Liz laughed as she entered the fire wall, "I guess now you boys have to listen to me."

Three faces darkened as they witnessed her entering the wall to deal with one. The good news was that one down three to go.

Well, the bad news was that... Now they have successfully gained the other three grim reaper's attention... Haha!

It was as if the reapers were robotic, they turned towards them as their dark energy flared like fire.

Jinha shrugged, "Any way we have lost our element of surprise. It's better to join now rather than have a girl order us around."

It was as if, they silently agreed on whom to battle as they vanished from their spot and appeared right in front of the reaper they chose.

Jinha went straight towards the reaper closest to him and delivered a hard punch to its face.

"Tch!! What a nasty aura!" he rubbed his arm which had some of the dark aura sticking onto it.

The attacked reaper got up and appeared before him within a second. It went all out slashing its opponent with its scythe.

Jinha dodged each slash as he tried to get closer to the reaper. He looked at its cloak as he talked, "Why are you hiding your face? is it that ugly?"

He only heard a grunt in response and the attacks increased in an inhumane speed.

Jinha dodged the last attack and in turn retaliated with his fists covered in dark blue thunderbolts. He rammed his fist into its face and blasted the reaper to a distance.

The reaper emitted a loud screech and smashed into some rocks.

Jinha dug his ears as he taunted, "Stop screeching.. you will make my ears go deaf."

He then jumped on top of the rock and looked at the reaper who was buried in heaps of rocks, "I'm not done yet." and descended right in front of the reaper.

He continuously punched its face heartlessly all the while carrying an evil smirk on his face as he summoned bolts of lightning around his fists.

Meanwhile, in the other direction, Zeno attacked another reaper who was a little towards the right-wing. He didn't wait for the reaper to turn as he mustered up a gale of wind as spikes and attacked it.

The attack made the surrounding dust fly, covering the reaper's sight. As it grabbed its scythe to clear the vision, he saw a cloudy figure walk slowly towards it.

The reaper let out a growl before it moved its scythe to swipe him off his feet.

Zeno's eyes sharpened as he stopped the scythe, away from his face by his hand. He attacked the reaper with a wind spear. But, this time the spear was longer as well as sharper.

It was strong enough to penetrate the skeleton body.

The reaper dodged the attack the last minute but it still failed to dodge it completely. The spear managed to graze its body leaving a small cut. There were small pints of black blood oozing out of its injury on the cloak.

The reaper growled as it moved closer to attack him with his punch.

Well, it's a common belief that people who are excellent at long-distance attacks were bad at close ones. You can't exactly blame the reaper for moving in to attack Zeno.

Zeno narrowed his eyes as he summoned a huge wind storm which was a mix of white and green colour. The wind storm surrounded the reaper and it slashed the wind around it desperately.

The storm made the reaper lose its ground as it flew. Zeno snapped his fingers and the storm disappeared. The reaper lost his hold and began to fall down, faster.

"Wind Shower" Zeno murmured

Blasts of wind were directed towards the incoming reaper, hitting it on all sides. The reaper screeched midair. It angrily grew it's skeleton hands like claws and slashed at Zeno.

The slashes had some dark mist surrounding it but nevertheless,

Zeno dodged it and in a flash appeared midair, some distance above the reaper.

Zeno commented, "Too weak."

"Wind Blast"

His hands emitted a long-range wind attack which smashed the reaper to the ground.

The reaper twitched badly and roared before it focused on the dead troops he had control over. In a second, all of them left the soldiers and attacked Zeno.

Zeno closed his eyes as he emitted a light around him, making the death soldiers near him vanish in the air.

"Sleep in peace, my brothers."

Eve admiringly commented, "Holy Light.. he has managed to control it."

Zeno huffed, "I was their teacher. Do you think their attacks would affect me?"

Holy light was a rare power obtained through an artefact. There were millions of artefacts in this world with each having rare powers. The problem was that artefacts exist in different shapes and sizes, which could easily be overlooked by others. Once used, it takes some time for the artefact to refill the mana in it and the range it covers depends on the user's mana level.

Eve narrowed her eyes at Zeno as she checked for the artefact. He didn't appear to wear anything gaudy and was rather simple.... too simple.

She rubbed her chin as she pondered on it.

Zeno looked at the reaper who was shaking in anger under the force exerted upon it. An evil smirk formed on his face as he said, "Now, let's finish this once and for all."
