Anyway, these things were cheap. A pound of corn kernels only cost a few cents but could produce a lot of popcorn.

They could not bear to eat the seeds previously, because what they ate was money that they could earn!

After Li Gui found out that the children wanted to earn money, she stopped nagging at them. In any case, Qiao Mei had already said that she would ask Xia Wen to hire a teacher to tutor them at home in a couple of days’ time so that they would be able to catch up on all the schoolwork that they had missed out.
