Xu Lan had bought a lot of books on parenting recently and Feng Hua had also taught her a lot of things. Now, Xu Lan attached great importance to the hygiene levels of the children. She even wished that she could ask the visitors who came to play with the children to take a shower and change their clothes first!

Xia Zhe had not made any wooden toys for the children yet. However, he brought the little wooden bird and little wooden pig which Xia Mao had given him in the past and stuffed them into the hands of the two children.

“These are the small wooden toys which your grandfather made for me. I haven’t finished making the ones I want to give you. You can play with these first,” Xia Zhe said.

In the past, Xu Lan always thought that Xia Zhe did not have any feelings for her and Xia Mao. After all, he had grown up with Xia Jun and Wu Min by his side. After that, he went to boarding school, and then he stayed at Xia Fang’s house when he went to university. However, it seemed that Xia Zhe still loved them despite everything.

It was not good for the children to be surrounded by so many people. Xu Lan and Feng Hua went to the kitchen to cook, leaving the young couple to take care of the children. Their little family also needed some time for a proper reunion.

“They still can’t talk by now?” Xia Zhe asked, feeling confused.

“I don’t think so… I remember people say that children will only start talking when they’re about one year old?” Qiao Mei was also confused about such things and did not know how children were supposed to behave.

This was their first time being parents and they had both never taken care of any younger siblings, so they naturally did not know anything.

“Children are able to look up when they’re three months old and they’ll know how to flip themselves over when they’re six months old. However, Xia Fan and Xia Xing seem to be smarter. They can flip themselves over at five months old,” Xia Wen said.
