Rui w.a.n.gfei quickly pulled his hand away, and Rui w.a.n.g scratched his head awkwardly. Afterward, they seemed to deliberately avoid each other, wishing they could take separate carriages.

"Well, what a coincidence? It's His Highnesses Ning w.a.n.g and Rui w.a.n.g." He said, cupping his hand in a salute while holding the fan.

Rui w.a.n.g frowned, "Sixth Prince?"

That's right, the person before them was the State of Chen’s hostage prince and the sixth prince of the State of Chen’s imperial family, Yuan Tang.

With that, he cupped his hand towards them once more and turned to walk back to his own carriage.

In that fleeting moment as he pa.s.sed by Rui w.a.n.gfei, a gust of cold wind lifted his flowing hair covering one side of his face. Blaming his eye-catching appearance, Rui w.a.n.gfei instinctively glanced at him.

"Ah!" Rui w.a.n.gfei exclaimed, dropping the handkerchief from her hand.

"What's the matter, Rui w.a.n.gfei?" Yuan Tang turned back, puzzled.

Rui w.a.n.gfei turned around, moving closer to Rui w.a.n.g's chest. Rui w.a.n.g quickly protected her in his embrace and glared coldly at Yuan Tang, saying, "You frightened my wife!"

"Well, I apologize." Yuan Tang cupped his hand and bowed in apology.

After Yuan Tang left, Ning w.a.n.g looked at Rui w.a.n.g and Rui w.a.n.gfei with concern, "What happened just now?"

The handkerchief on the ground had been picked up and put away by their servants.

Rui w.a.n.g comfortingly patted Rui w.a.n.gfei's shoulder and asked, "Yes, did that guy intentionally scare you?"

Rui w.a.n.gfei shook her head and said, "No, I just... I was just surprised."

Rui w.a.n.g was confused, "Surprised about what? It's not like you haven't seen him before."

Yuan Tang, as the State of Chen’s hostage prince, generally didn't attend gatherings of the State of Zhao’s imperial family.
