I had a normal childhood, I had a great family and great friends, but that changed when I entered high school, however at that time I didn't know. I had always wanted to become a FBI agent, and so I worked hard to get the job.
I finally got it after years of drinking coffee to stay awake at 6 in the morning to study. My life then became a little bit more interesting. As an excellent agent I quickly got extremely important missions, which sent me travelling around the world, learning a lot of stuff and most importantly...Traumatising me.
I thought that FBI agent dealt with some normal criminals, dangerous ones of course but I thought they were normals, unfortunately it seems I got to deal with the worst of the worst. And that's how my story really began.
************************
A few days ago one of the most wanted criminal in the world got sighted in Russia. The guy was the perfect copy of one of those villains in old slasher movies. He always left a ton of corpses behind, and trust me you don't want to know how they looked.
He had killed so much people that we couldn't even keep up. Everywhere he went, a dozen of people were killed, and for some reasons there was never any informations about his location. But we finally found him, though I still find weird the fact that after 5 years of hiding perfectly he just let his location be known so easily.
And now I could finally see why it seemed fishy to me.
« I f.u.c.king knew it. There was no way it wouldn't end like that. »
As I walked inside an abandoned hotel, I heard my colleague, Boris, complain about our situation. And I could understand why. Our target had decided to hide inside this hotel that barely stood, and we decided to enter at night. It was so dark we could barely see in front of us, we had lost our flashlights, and we were forced to walk on the corpses of the other agents who had ben sent there because our target didn't seem to want to get caught by us. Most of them were dead, and we had lost contact with the others. I just hoped some were still alive.
« Well atleast there is still the two of us, huh ?....Boris ? »
Turning around I saw that I was actually alone. Which was weird since I could feel someone's breath on my neck.
* Bang !*
Bracing myself I turned around once more, my gun in hand, and started to shoot at whoever had been behind me.
« Well, you are quite a dangerous fellow ain't you ? »
* Thud*
« Arghh ! »
Before I could even understand what was happening, my gun was stolen and I fell to the ground, a knife stabbed in my stomach. I could somewhat resist the pain but the monster who had stabbed me was moving the knife to make me suffer. And it seems like he really enjoyed it.
« You really * Cough* went for the jack the ripper look. You know * cough* it's not because you call yourself Jack the ripper and dress like him that you are him. »
« Oof....You really hurt me with your words agent Johnson. »
As I tried to get up, I glared at the man who was crouching in front of me. The man actually looked like Jack the ripper. Long black cloak, top hat, sideburns and a permanent smile on his face. If his main goal was to look creepy, then he was a d.a.m.n champion.
I was never one to be scared of anything, but just looking at that guy and remembering all his victims, it nearly made me freeze. And in that moment, I though that like all others I would die. But the Ripper proved me wrong.
« Do you know what this is ? »
The man had taken out a sheet of paper from his pocket and was showing it to me. The paper was entirely black, there was something written in white on it, but my eyes were drawn towards the golden letters at the top.
' Dream Contract ?'
I never saw that thing in my whole entire life, but it seemed oddly familiar. I think I had already of it from the families of the victims....And now that I think about about it....
« All the families of my victims talked about this, huh ? But you and all the other agents never remembered what they said. That's normal I made sure to cover my tracks.....You know it's incredible what you can do once you become more than just a human. »
I wanted to ask him what the h.e.l.l he was talking about, but my body was becoming cold and my eyes were slowly closing. But they were wide opened when a flame suddenly shot out of the man's palm. And so I watched awestruck, as the man made fire appear out of nowhere.
« Since you're already dying I'm not going to waste time. See this contract ? It can save your life, and give you another chance. You just need to say you accept it, and it's done. Wouldn't you like to get another chance at life Rey? »
I couldn't understand what he was talking about. My eyes were still fixated on the flame.
« Hehehe....It's impressive isn't it ? You will able to do it too after you accept the contract. You just need to say it, and everything will be better. »
For some reasons, while I would never actually accept anything from that guy, I was drawn to that contract. My hands were slowly reaching for it, I wanted to read what was written on it.
« Do you accept it or no ? You don't need to read it, there is nothing written on this contract that won't be beneficial to you ? After you accept you will be able to do and know a lot of things.....Per example you could finally discover why all your friends from high school slowly disappeared one after the other. »
Now I really wanted to accept it. During my whole life I never had friends I trusted more than those I had in high school. They were another family to me, but they disappeared without leaving any traces behind. At that time, no one had reacted to it, not even me. Once more I felt like someone had manipulated my memory.
« ....I...Accept it.... »
It was something I couldn't understand, from within the dept of my heart something woke up.....A desire. I didn't know why or even how it happened, but I'm sure this smiling b.a.s.t.a.r.d is the responsible for this.
« Ohoho~Well then It's time to say goodbye to agent Johnson, you won't need that name after that. And by the way, you know what happens when people ask a being with powers like a genie or a demon to make their wishes come true, right ? You know how those beings always twist the wish like they want to completely change it's meaning ? Well that's kinda what I just did. »
« W-What ? »
« Don't worry about it...I just made sure that your life would become much more interesting. Though this system I put into your mind might prove to be even better than I thought.
