"Why you supported me?" she asked.
"Duh! It's because I love peace I don't like war. Would it have been better if all leaders will be united with one common goal to unite and live with harmony under the banner of peace? Living in peace is awesome, living under constant wars and conflict is emotionally and mentally draining and stressful and who would like to live in that kind of world?" Adam said.
Jessy grinned, feeling grateful that she will always have Adam's back supporting her cause. "Thank you for your understanding and your support, Adam. Even if you know that your father will get angry at you, still, you sided with me. It means so much to me."
"I understand my father's feelings, it must have been hard for him to change his mind but sometimes we don't need to stick to old belief and principle when they are no longer applicable in the current times. We have to think things in a new different perspective," Adam continued.
"Thank you! You're the best!" she awarded him a quick kiss on the lips. Then her face turned sad again. "Do you think your father will listen to us and change his mind?"
"Maybe yes and maybe not. We can only hope and pray to G.o.d in heaven that he will touch my father's heart," he said.
"So, you believe in G.o.d?" she asked.
"Yeah, why not? Although I'm not a very religious person and don't go to church every Sunday, I acknowledge the Supreme Being who design this earth that we live in and the entire universe. If you start thinking how they are formed and how they function...even the tiniest living creature on this planet has its uses. If you start noticing things even up to the smallest detail, your mind will be blown away...every cells and organ in our body...my G.o.d...you will be amazed...for so many things to function properly in this world it needs a Supreme Mind to make and design everything to work precisely based on their order and functions. Don't just think that everything popped up in this world and the entire universe without someone behind it and designing everything. Even with the mere powers that we have it can't compare to that Supreme Being I am talking you about," Adam said. "Don't tell me you don't believe in G.o.d?"
Jessy grinned. "Of course I do!" she responded, she pinched his side playfully. "By the way, I need to see my mother and father, they must have been worried to death already after I disappeared."
"Okay, I will also see my father and try to convince him to change his mind so that the ma.s.sacre can be prevented and no bloodshed will occur tonight," Adam said.
The couple went their separate ways.
Jessy rushed to her mother and father's room. "Mom and Dad! I'm back!"
Sarah embraced her daughter tightly. "Where have you been? Why you have been missing for nearly two days? Your father and I are worried sick because of your mischief!" she searched for any signs of physical trauma in her daughter's body, finding none, she began to breathe in relief.
It's now Hector's turn to hug his daughter. "My Goodness daughter, why are you being so mean? You are killing us! Maybe I will start going strict with you," he said, looking at her sternly.
Jessy grinned. "Mom and Dad, stop worrying about me. Your daughter here is strong as OX. I won't die easily," she said.
"But where have you been? Why you were missing for more than a day?" Sarah asked.
Jessy sighed. "It's a long story my beloved parents, but trust me, I'm always good. I encountered some mishap along the way while helping a friend going home to his brother," she explained.
Hector's brows furrowed. "What kind of mishap? Such as—?"
"Giant spiders...giant crabs...ants and horrifying centipede then lots of deadly snakes along the way and your daughter has to overcome all just to help a friend," a small smile curled up in Jessy's lips.
"Young lady am not buying it! You are making things up. Why don't you just tell us the truth and be done with it?" Hector is getting annoyed that his daughter is making things up so that she can get away from telling them the truth.
"Spill the beans, daughter!" Sarah demanded fiercely.
Jessy released a deep sigh. This is not good! The king and his parents were putting pressure on her and she's starting to get a pounding headache dealing with them.
"Mom and Dad, I swear, one day I will tell you everything, but not now. I still have important matters to attend to. Believe me for once when I say that what I'm doing right now is for the good of everybody," she cryptically said. Jessy smiled and hugged her parents before she sauntered towards the door. "I'll be back later! See yeah!" she shouted before she completely vanished out of the room.
Hector and Sarah looked at each other in dismay.
...
Jessy ambled towards her room. Once inside her room, she opened her palm and the decorative bottle appeared in her right hand. She placed the bottle in the lowest part of the cabinet where she stored her old clothes. "You stay here for now until I can think of a better way to deal with you," she murmured. She's not sure if Jagger heard her voice or not.
She stood up and sat on the edge of the bed, confused for a while on what to do. If the king would still insist on killing all the vampires in the cave, what she will do? Knowing that she offered Roden peace and safety and yet, in the end, they will still be killed. Sigh.
This is worrying!
She needs to do something!
She had to go back to the cave so that she can prepare them just in case the king will agree to face them.
'And what if the king will still slaughter them, what will you do?' a tiny voice whispered in her ears. Well, she will just have to use her last card, no other choice, just in case things will not go her way.
Jessy teleported back into the cave.
...
Inside the royal couple's bedchamber.
Queen Margaret was washing her husband's feet in the basin filled with water mixed with aromatic essential oils. Every time her husband was stressed out about something this kind of ritual always calms his mind. Princess Abigail was ma.s.saging her father's shoulders.
While the trio was engaged in the soothing activity, Adam was watching his father silently.
King Antone eyed his son wearily. "Are you here to plead for those savage vampires on behalf of Jessy?"
