Ai Mi looked at me complacently after she heard Xiong YaoYue’s words of devotion. It probably meant “This is how you act as a qualified subordinate”.
Thus, Ai Mi led her two subordinates (Xiong YaoYue and me), as if she was leading a thousand man army, arrogantly to the fourth floor.
When we pa.s.sed by the Häagen-Dazs counter, Xiong YaoYue sent a few glances at it, and Ai Mi immediately bought her three scoops to eat.
“Ah, it’s embarra.s.sing being treated by Miss Ai Mi.”
Xiong YaoYue said as she scratched her head while eating the ice cream.
If it was embarra.s.sing, why did you keep staring at the store from a distance? If it was embarra.s.sing, why did your order three scoops? Also, Ai Mi didn’t bring her wallet today, so I’m the one who had to pay.
But I can’t resent Ai Mi, she probably thinks I could still use the American Express black card.
“Hehe, I love three scoops, because there’s three b.a.l.l.s, one more than you…”
Enough, the joke’s already overused, and it’s not even funny. Besides, I could also say: I won’t lose to your three scoops, I also have three b.a.l.l.s on me since I brought an egg.
Everyone probably already guessed that the female salesperson behind the DQ counter was staring daggers towards the Häagen-Dazs counter.
After we arrived in the clothing section, the first thing to catch my eye was the dazzling lineup of shoes for men and women.
I unexpectedly saw two familiar figures.
Oh, it’s the cla.s.s leader and Shu Zhe. What a coincidence, they came to Henderson mall to buy shoes.
But the cla.s.s leader didn’t even notice me, she wasn’t sitting on one of the in-store seats to try on shoes. Instead, she was standing in a ceramic tile corridor while talking on the phone with a grave expression.
“I’m not making a fuss over a small issue. You guys aren’t aware of the importance of the problem.”
“You’ll take care of it later? How long would that take? As long as you take care of it, I’ll even send you an award.”
“…your manager wants to speak to me? Then, put him on.”
Huh, it looks like the cla.s.s leader got into an argument, is something wrong with the mall’s service? I thought the cla.s.s leader wasn’t one to be picky about att.i.tude. They must have done something really rude for her to be this angry.
d.a.m.n it, it wasn’t easy trying to get the cla.s.s leader to buy a new pair of shoes. I should teach the person who made her angry a lesson.
The cla.s.s leader continued to argue on the phone. When she got excited, her long hair was also shaking all over the place.
“No, I’m not trying to cause trouble on purpose. You guys were the ones who got the tiles wrong.”
Tile? I couldn’t make any sense of the problem at hand, Henderson mall doesn’t even sell ceramic tiles. Was the cla.s.s leader calling a contractor because she wants to renovate her house or something?
“What do you mean it’s too late? It’s not a complex procedure, it’s pretty simple…”
“It will cause trouble for the customers.”
“Hurry and fix it or I’ll never return to this mall.”
The cla.s.s leader said angrily as she stamped the ground.
This was when I realized there was a tile out of place next to the cla.s.s leader’s feet.
The corridor was supposed to be tiled with alternating black and white tiles along any straight line of tiles.
However, there was an out of place tile. Basically, the white and black tile had their correct positions swapped.
It would be unbearable for someone who had OCD like the cla.s.s leader.
So, that’s the problem. No wonder Shu Zhe was standing far away with a bitter face and pretending he doesn’t know you. It’s indeed a bit embarra.s.sing for your sister to get into a heated argument over an out of place tile. But you guys look similar and you’re both wearing jeans and a white shirt, almost everyone would know you guys are siblings.
Some pa.s.sersby heard the cla.s.s leader’s conversation. Some covered their mouths and laughed while others began to whisper to each other.
“She’s a good-looking girl, but gets pretty awful on the phone. Her boyfriend is going to have it tough.”
“It’s not like it’s the tiles in her house, it’s fine if there’s a mistake. Does she get paid for being nosy?”
“It’s called OCD. Nowadays, you can’t leave your house without some kind of mental illness like depression, enochlophobia, agoraphobia, or acrophobia…”
“Look, the boy over there is probably her younger brother. He looks a lot more normal than his sister and he’s cute, if only I was ten years younger…”
Stop, how is Shu Zhe more normal than his sister? I reckon he’s currently still wearing the s.e.xy white rose panties! He keeps rubbing his legs together when he’s standing, is it going to fall because he didn’t tie it properly? Stop causing more trouble, how will I help you explain if the underwear falls out?
Shu Zhe changed to a posture to reflect his youthfulness and believed he was the focus point of the crows when he heard praise. It was as if he was surrounded by camera flashes and he wanted his handsome figure to be recorded into the pictures.
Some men even sneaked a few glances at him.
Shu Zhe interpreted the men’s gazes as envy and he became more arrogant. He even considered the shoe store as a model walkway as he paced back and forth.
When we were on the elevator, Ai Mi was telling Xiong YaoYue about ‘the three laws you must know for a subordinate’ and Xiong YaoYue was listening earnestly while licking her ice cream. That’s why she was a bit slow at recognizing the cla.s.s leader and her brother.
When Xiong YaoYue saw the cla.s.s leader, she wanted to go and give her a pa.s.sionate hug, but she gave up when she saw her panting with rage while speaking on the phone.
Ai Mi was the first one who saw Shu Zhe showing off. Perhaps it was because she was used to acting in front of a camera, so she could easily recognize when someone wanted to show off.
“I know how to use that word now.” Ai Mi said suddenly.
Huh, which word?
Ai Mi beckoned Xiong YaoYue to keep up, so she could act as her bodyguard. Then, the two of them approached Shu Zhe.
Shu Zhe met Xiong YaoYue before, so he already knew she was cla.s.s 2-3 PE committee member who always causes trouble for his sister. But he didn’t recognize Ai Mi who looked like a flawless Barbie doll.
Shu Zhe stopped his walkway performance and wanted to ask something, but Ai Mi beat him to the punch and pointed to his nose and said:
“What are you trying to show off by walking back and forth?”
