Chapter 81 - You Had Better Reconsider
The next day, He Cheng Ming went to school with his arm in a sling. As expected, he attracted countless looks.
He swept his gaze over them and the heads of those gossipers shrank back like hamsters.
Only Lin Jiang came up and asked with indignation, “Ming Ge, what happened to your hand?! Who did it?! I’ll f.u.c.k him up!” He was really angry and had always treated He Cheng Ming like a real brother. Now, someone had fractured his brother’s arm and his temper couldn’t endure it.
He Cheng Ming slapped him on the back of his head and berated, “Could you keep your voice down? I’m not deaf!” Lin Jiang pursed his lips. “Then what happened?”
“I met Gao Sheng yesterday…”
He Cheng Ming told him about the general incident. At the end of it, Lin Jiang felt that the son of a b.i.t.c.h had really received the appropriate retribution!
Once he knew, the whole school knew. After all, as He Cheng Ming’s brother, how could Lin Jiang let his big brother suffer the injustice of “being beaten up”?
He immediately spread the news of this matter and conveniently added details, exaggerating the one-on-six confrontation greatly.
If Ji Liao had not known the truth, he would have almost believed it.
His phone vibrated. Jiang Qi had sent him a message: Didi, Jiejie has a lot of time recently. Do you need help?
Ji Liao thought of Meng Yao Yao, agreed and arranged to meet on Sat.u.r.day.
At noon, Gu Ming Ren made a token gesture by going to cla.s.s two to see He Cheng Ming. His gaze fell onto the boy’s bandaged splint and he couldn’t help but laugh. He didn’t think that the invincible school bully He would ever have this day.
“Get lost.” He Cheng Ming immediately ordered him to leave.
Gu Ming Ren didn’t get angry and leaned against Lin Jiang’s table. After going around in a circle while expressing his sympathy, he finally whispered, “Did he break up with his girlfriend?”
Li Si Ran had been pestering him so much recently that it was likely he was being treated as a new partner to be groomed. This situation showed that she had broken up with Lin Jiang, or was about to break up with him.
He Cheng Ming’s eyelids lifted slightly and he glanced at him askance. “How would I know?”
Gu Ming Ren sneered. “Doesn’t he tell you everything?”
He didn’t know what kind of bewitchment that son of a b.i.t.c.h had put him under to make him so loyal and devoted.
“Ask him yourself.” He Cheng Ming lifted his chin slightly, indicating that Lin Jiang was behind him.
Gu Ming Ren turned his head and sure enough, he saw the boy come in the door with a pack of bread in his mouth looking foolish. He cursed silently, stupid dog.
Lin Jiang released the pack of bread from between his teeth and lifted a hand to catch it. He tore open the pack forcefully and bit into the bread, then said, “Ask me what?” Gu Ming Ren hadn’t hara.s.sed him in a while and his level of vigilance had gradually lowered.
“Nothing.” He raised his gla.s.ses expressionlessly.
Unconcerned, Lin Jiang shrugged and finished the bread in a few mouthfuls, but he wasn’t even full! He had given all his pocket money to Li Si Ran resulting in his now empty pocket. Although He Cheng Ming had transferred a sum of money to him, he didn’t have any left after he used it to buy a phone.
“Have you broken up with your girlfriend?” Gu Ming Ren couldn’t help asking.
Lin Jiang choked and swallowed quickly. Then he looked at him and said, “How did you know?!”
He hadn’t told anyone about it.
Gu Ming Ren raised his eyebrows and without a care in the world, he took out his phone for him to see. “Your girlfriend has been bothering me a lot recently.”
Lin Jiang took the phone and found that since the previous day, Li Si Ran had sent good morning, good night, miss you Gu Ming Ren, I’m so lonely messages to Gu Ming Ren, and the frequency was even higher than when she was with him!
Lin Jiang cursed. Why didn’t he realised before that Li Si Ran was so flirtatious?!
“She’s an ex-girlfriend, nothing to do with me now.” He said unhappily.
Gu Ming Ren didn’t say anything and leisurely kept his phone in his pocket. Actually, Li Si Ran had been sending him such messages for over a month, just that he had deleted the earlier ones and left only those from the last three days.
Lin Jiang was quiet. Although unwilling, he said, “She has probably taken a fancy to you. But, don’t you already have a girlfriend?!” It was last circulated among their level that Gu Ming Ren was dating. He didn’t follow up on this news, so he wasn’t sure of the situation.
Gu Ming Ren looked at him. “I don’t.”
Lin Jiang frowned. “Really?”
Thinking that he was interested in Li Si Ran, in the spirit of camaraderie among fellow cla.s.smates and from personal experience, Lin Jiang warned him, “You had better reconsider.” Don’t be cheated like him.
After listening to his thought-provoking words, Gu Ming Ren felt that Lin Jiang was probably jealous. So his lips curved into a smile like a spring breeze and very contentedly, he said, “Okay, I’ll consider it properly.”
