Chapter 41 - If You’re Not Stupid, Would You Still Date a Boy?

He Cheng Ming was struck by his desperate expression, causing his heart to ache for him.

He pulled Ji Liao inside and his gaze fell on the tightly clenched hands hanging by his sides, showing his internal unease.

“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.”

A thousand words wanted to pa.s.s his lips, asking what happened. In the end, it was only a single sentence of firm commitment. As long as he was here, he would never be alone.

He Cheng Ming took Ji Liao into his arms. Ji Liao’s body was very cold, so cold that even his heart was shivering.

He guessed that Ji Liao had come out to his family. If not, Xu Ai Wen, who loved him so dearly, would not be able to bear driving him out.

Ji Liao buried his head in He Cheng Ming’s neck. On the way over, he had been afraid; he had used all his courage to confess to Xu Ai Wen, which meant that he had cut off all paths of retreat. Now, he only had the person in front of him.

He Cheng Ming looked at him with an evil grin. “Not going to ask.” Then he added, “I was looking forward to you visiting me.”

Once again, he resumed his improper behaviour.

Ji Liao pushed him away and snorted. In his heart he scolded, what a no conscience pig. He was homeless because of the boy, and yet he only thought of romantic affairs!

His downcast mood turned into anger.

When He Cheng Ming saw the sudden change, he immediately coaxed, “Don’t be angry, baby. I was wrong.”

Acting cute again.

Ji Liao could not relieve his gloominess, and as he lowered his head to change his footwear, he found that his hand was wrapped by the other boy’s firm grasp . He Cheng Ming also seemed to just realise this and laughed as he let go.

Since he was afraid of the cold, he also feared Ji Liao being cold, so it was a reflex of his to warm him up.

“Why are you looking at me? Change your footwear,” He Cheng Ming urged.

Ji Liao moved his eyes away and his heart swelled. This type of subconscious behaviour made him addicted. Even if he discovered later on that it was a tender trap, he thought that it was worth it.

When they entered the living room, He Cheng Ming asked if he was hungry. Ji Liao shook his head, feeling a little tired.

“My Mom knows,” he looked up and said.

He Cheng Ming was not surprised at all. He touched his head and asked, “Because you answered my call?”

Ji Liao was afraid he would overthink it, so he took responsibility for the incident. “I picked it up by mistake.”

But he never expected the other boy to actually blame him. “Why were you so careless?”

On hearing that, Ji Liao glared at him. He Cheng Ming laughed out loud and lowered his head to kiss him. “Don’t think about it too much. It’ll be okay after you get some sleep.”

With that, he brought him into the room.

Ji Liao wanted to take a bath so He Cheng Ming took out a set of pyjamas and brand new underwear for him. When he came out after his bath and lay beside him, the youth was boiling with pa.s.sion.

Although it was the same body wash he used for himself, on Ji Liao’s body it was especially fragrant, bringing with it a distinct irresistible feeling. He Cheng Ming couldn’t resist leaning over, and Ji Liao felt his reaction. He paused, before reaching down with his hand.

After a short while, He Cheng Ming surrendered.

His self-esteem was slightly hurt.

Immediately, he turned and explained to Ji Liao, “Normally, it’s not so quick. This is the first time your hand was on me, so I couldn’t control it.”

He said it very seriously but Ji Liao didn’t hear a word. With bright red ears, he stood up to wash his hands in silence.

Feeling remorseful, He Cheng Ming sat on the bed and stared coldly at his crotch. He scolded Xiao Cheng Ming for being a disappointment and not being able to handle such a benefit!

The next day, Ji Liao had not awoken yet when He Cheng Ming received a call from Meng Yao Yao. He roughly learned of the situation, as well as the current relationship between Xu Ai Wen and Meng Yuan.

“I see. Thank you.” He hung up the phone and went to make breakfast for Ji Liao.

When Ji Liao awoke, they ate together. Afterwards, He Cheng Ming told him that Xu Ai Wen had been searching for him all night and nearly called the police…

“I’ll go back with you later.” He looked at Ji Liao.

Ji Liao wanted to say no, but his gaze was hot, making him unable to refuse.

After changing clothes, He Cheng Ming carried the skincare products that he had originally bought for his own mother and went home with Ji Liao.

Xu Ai Wen sat on the sofa with a sad and anxious expression. Meng Yuan had gone to work, leaving Meng Yao Yao to comfort her.

Ji Liao came in, walked over and called out, “Mom.”

When Xu Ai Wen saw him, she finally felt at ease.

Tears appeared immediately and she cried out, “You’re very brave now, daring to stay out for the whole night! Don’t you know how to give your Mom a call?!”

Ji Liao explained softly, “I didn’t bring my phone.”

Xu Ai Wen was so angry that she lifted her hand, wanting to hit him. He Cheng Ming rushed to stand in front of him, but found that Xu Ai Wen’s hand didn’t land.

“Auntie.” He called out politely.

Xu Ai Wen only noticed him now. She recognised him immediately as the one she saw the night before! The clothes were the same. Xu Ai Wen looked down at He Cheng Ming’s shoes. Yes, it was this pair!

Then wasn’t the other person her Tang Tang?

Her intense anger almost caused her to faint. Pointing to He Cheng Ming’s nose, she shouted, “Leave. Leave now!”

Ji Liao pulled He Cheng Ming away, who had been asked to leave before he had a chance to speak.

Meng Yao Yao was trying to alleviate Xu Ai Wen’s worries, while at the same time coaxing her. “Actually, dating at a young age isn’t that big of a deal. As long as it doesn’t affect their studies, it should be fine.”

With that, she blinked at Ji Liao, who responded to her implication by walking over and squatting down in front of Xu Ai Wen. He said earnestly, “Mom, I’m not stupid.”

Xu Ai Wen pointed at his head. “If you’re not stupid, would you still date a boy?!”

Ji Liao, “…” He had nothing to say.

Meng Yao Yao sighed, thinking that guys really had low EQ, not even knowing how to coax someone.

So she flattered her in Ji Liao’s stead, “Auntie, Ji Liao has returned home now, so don’t be angry anymore. If there are any issues, we can sit down and discuss them slowly.”

She also poured Xu Ai Wen some water to let her cool down.

Ji Liao watched dumbstruck, thinking that Meng Yao Yao was like an angel. No, she was his saviour!

Xu Ai Wen had regretted her actions from last night. She had only wanted to give him the cold shoulder for a while — when he knew he was in the wrong, then she would let him in. But who knew this child would leave without saying a word. She had been so worried that she didn’t sleep for the entire night.

“Mom, I’m sorry to have made you worried.” Ji Liao obediently admitted to his mistake.

He recognised that to make Xu Ai Wen worry was his fault.

But regarding him and He Cheng Ming, he wasn’t in the wrong and he would never admit it as a fault.
