Everyone present was around a table and eating something from the different dishes presented on it. Only a certain person looked with glimmering eyes at Darc his neighboring seat. But it looked like only he himself was bothered by this constant staring.
It was his mother that had a really excited look at this moment. She was very happy about the visit that they got from him today. Or should Darc say that she was more excited about meeting both Bulma and Arkis?
Darc never really introduced Bulma nor Arkis to them and he thought it was about time that he did. He thought it would just run smoothly without hiccups but he guessed wrong. At first, Kibini was very confused which of the girls was the one Darc was dating so she remained normal. So that made Darc relax somewhat.
But as soon as he explained that Arkis was his partner at work and Bulma was the one he already told her about, she immediately figured something out in her head and started to get way too friendly with Bulma.
It also didn't help that Bulma acted all shy around his parents out of a sudden. Especially Bulma should know that clingy parents are not the best things one wants to have. But it looked like when one was on the receiving end it was different. She was constantly trying to behave with the utmost manners in front of his parents.
It made Darc smile a little bit but right now they were at the table and that change in behavior by his mother was getting a little bit on his nerves.
"Mom, please stop staring at Bulma so much. I am sure she is getting uncomfortable.", he told her outright at this moment.
His mother looked at him and frowned angrily. "Hush, stop being you for a moment.", she said to him and then looked back at Bulma with a bright smile.
´What the h.e.l.l do you mean stop being me?´, he thought inwardly and sighed. "Sorry about this, Bulma. Looks like my mother ain't stopping what she is doing right now. Maybe we should have visited a restaurant.", he said to Bulma and tried to apologize for his mother's behavior.
"Huh? Oh, I am alright...I don't feel bothered by it.", answered Bulma back after hearing his words. Then she went back to being a near statue that didn't want to make any mistakes. Her mind is on constant work what Darc his mother thought about her.
"Hahaha, that is what your mother means, son. Just relax. It's not every day you visit us and especially not with guests. It is also your own fault in a way to have brought them here. Just let your mother enjoy this moment.", interrupted Truff and laughed. His father was on his mother´s side this time around.
"Dad, if this continues she will probably even start asking stuff that is too private.", he said nonchalantly back at him.
"No, no. That´s not going to happen. Because I am the one who is going to ask that. So, when can I expect my grandchild?", said Truff sheepishly. He was actually quite interested himself on this topic.
"..." That silenced Darc at first and he actually didn't think that his father would really ask that. "Will you even be here...?", said Darc mockingly back and had his eyes half closed and both brows arched upwards. After all, in his own childhood, his father was more gone than there
"Ouch, you hurt me. And here I was only providing for this family", said his father back at those accusations. One had to note he was still smiling while saying those words. So he didn't really mean them and didn't take Darc his words for gold as well. Which they weren't anyway.
Bulma was still nervous and wanted to say something at that moment but was stopped because Darc his mother talked again.
"Stop it you two. And Darc. It is still a valid question your father asked. When are you actually going to establish a family?", said Kibini and interrupted the both of them now.
Darc frowned. "I don't plan it yet. "
Hearing those words Bulma looked at him and was a little bit saddened but Darc didn't notice that subtle change in her mimic since he didn't look at her right now.
Now Arkis got curious. "Why? Don't you want a child, Darc?"
Both Darc and Bulma got surprised by Arkis asking that question from the sidelines after stopping her eating.
"It's not that I don't want one. I just don't think I am ready yet?", he said while thinking about it more this time.
"But if you have so much s.e.x with Bulma. Isn't it going to happen at some point?" Arkis was still direct as always.
Darc his eyebrows furrowed and he softly slammed both hands on the table. "Enough already! Let's just eat like normal people and let this topic rest...", he said with a slightly angry voice now.
Arkis only nodded and then continued to eat as if nothing happened. Darc his father smiled wryly at this scene and Bulma was completely red on her face.
Kibini, on the other hand, noticed something really interesting when she still looked at Bulma her reaction while Truff asked his question, she did get a glimmer in her eyes again. It seemed to have rea.s.sured her in some way and she started to stop staring at Bulma all the time and didn't bother inquiring other information. She only chuckled softly and winked at her in an understanding matter.
That surprised Bulma after seeing that and Bulma´s blush became even brighter.
This time around Darc did notice Bulma her reaction and was kind of confused. He thought about why these two behaved like this. But what Darc didn't know was now even his father started laughing happily.
Finishing up this dinner made Darc kind of tired. They were ready to leave back to the Capsule Corp. so they excused themselves and wished their farewells.
"Do visit us more often. And do your best with that son of mine, Bulma!", said Kibini while waving her hand.
When the trio was way gone Kibini sighed and looked at his husband. "That our son is as dense as a rock. How long do you think it will take until he notices? At least Bulma seems not angry about his answer.", she asked Truff.
Truff only scratched his head. "Knowing Darc...Probably when it is way too late. I think Bulma wanted to tell him but you b.u.t.ted in. Also, that partner of his also seemed to have already noticed and tried to tell him indirectly..."
Kibini started laughing now. "I just had to make it a little bit more interesting. I am at least very happy.", she said again and grabbed Truff his hand with a happy smile. Truff smiled back at her. "Me too."

A certain distance away Darc walked with Bulma and Arkis on the streets.
"That visit was a lot more stressful for me than I thought. At least that's done.", sighed Darc and said those words to the both of them.
"Your parents were really nice people. I thought it would run a lot worse, to be honest.", answered Bulma to him.
Arkis also nodded to that "I thought the same. I also saw how well they knew your personality."
