Soon, Lillian Grey arrived in her usual stance.
"I guess you're back to normal," Diego announced.
"I guess" Lillian chuckled.
They all went in together.
Cla.s.s began and went as per schedule. English was fun; Science was interesting, Gym cla.s.s was perfect as it is Lillian's favorite time to be active and have some fun. Finally, came the math cla.s.s, Mr. Seth, going on and on about Trigonometry. Everything is just like the usual.
Lillian felt a little better than yesterday. Talking to her friends cleared her mind from the foggy feelings. She didn't stare Giselle like the previous day but still would glance at her side whenever she gets bored. Watching Giselle helped her regain focus and energetic.
'Watching Giselle is at least useful. I'm not getting bored or sleepy. Good job, Giselle. I will keep you in my mind as the 'my focus star.' – Lillian thought.
Lillian felt more comfortable and not concerned about Giselle. She started looking at her like a regular cla.s.smate instead of someone who had confessed. Everything came back to normal as Lillian let time take control of her life except for the test results.
"Ms. Grey?" Seth called out for Lillian.
"I'm going to have you meet me during lunch break." He announced in a serious tone.
"Yes, sir," Lillian responded attentively.
"You better come and not make me wait even a second." He said. This time his tone got more intense and sounded angry.
'c.r.a.p, this is it.' Lillian imagined.
Anna and Diego turned back at the same time. They looked at Lillian with pity and mouthed.
'You're dead meat today.' – Both whispered at the same time.
Lillian rolled her eyes in dismay. The cla.s.s ended as Mr. Seth paraded the hallway with his raging boots.
…
Lunch break came. Lillian's cla.s.s had a free period, and so, they all went to the library before lunch. The school library is at the other end from the cafeteria. A few of the students cried for having to walk back to the cla.s.sroom and then again go the cafeteria as its so much time-consuming.
"So, you guys go to the cafeteria. I don't think I'll be eating lunch today." Lillian scowled.
"You are going to die today. Do you have any last wish?" Anna chuckled.
Lillian spanked Anna before leaving to meet Mr. Seth.
"All the best, Lilly," Diego yelled in encouragement.
Lillian let out a victory symbol as she kept marching towards the staff room.
…
Lillian panted hard. She came out after getting leeched by Mr. Seth's lecture and advice. It reached a point where Lillian's panting became louder and so, Mr. Seth released her with a warning.
Lillian's score was zero on the math test they had yesterday. Mr. Seth felt utterly disappointed with Lillian's score. He didn't want to send her to the princ.i.p.al's office but let alone warned her about doing it the next time.
Most of the time, he advised her about the seriousness of studying. Lillian did apologize mentioning that she was mentally disturbed and so, resulted in the poor score; which is no score at all.
Hearing it directly from her made Seth believe in Lillian's words. He knew she's dumb when it comes to math, but the kid would never lie. Hence, he made sure to educate her on the importance and never to play with tests.
When she came out, Lillian's test paper was in her hand. She doesn't want anyone to see it and so, returned to the cla.s.sroom. After seeing the time, which only had a few minutes left, Lillian decided to skip lunch and stay at her desk. She walked back to cla.s.s with her test paper folded, covering the red markings and the score visuals.
Soon, she reached the cla.s.s. When she opened the door, Lillian's eyes met with a surprise. The gossip girls and Giselle were present inside together. They were all talking busily without even noticing Lillian's intrusion.
One of the girls is the first one to notice with a roar.
Next thing, all of the girls lifted their head in shock as if they got caught backstabbing someone. Giselle's eyes met Lillian.
Lillian couldn't care less about the gossip girls. Her only concern was why Giselle is with those idiots.
Giselle's eyes widened in seeing Lillian; she quickly diverted her vision back to those girls. One of them smirked.
"What's going on?" Lillian raised her sound.
They all flinched at her voice.
"N- Nothing. We're just hanging around. Right?" one of the girls replied, grasping Giselle silently.
"Yes," Giselle confirmed.
Lillian slowly approached them as her figure towered over the girls in command. She glared at them aggressively.
"Are you sure?" she asked, her eyes locked on Giselle's.
Giselle nodded silently without any reaction.
"Alright then, Y'all look like you just killed someone and hid it somewhere inside the school building. I had to know." Lillian spoke as she cruised her way to her desk. She sat down and kept the paper safely inside the bag. She lay down on her desk to rest for a few minutes before the cla.s.s begins.
Her clear mind only had one question being played repeatedly inside her head before drifting off to a short nap.
'Is she one of them?'
